Cancellation Was Quick And Easy

We had an issue with an appliance and sent in an order. But we figured out how to resolve it ourselves. Was operator error, more or less. So I went back to the website 4-5hrs later and canceling without charge was easy. We've been happy with the repair services the 2 times we've used Choice, and just as happy the time we canaceled.

After 2 weeks in the heat we were told our HVAC wasn't covered. It is 6 years old, they said it has a leak and IT IS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE A LEAK, therefore we do not cover it. WHAT? How did the leak get there? This is awful. I've HAD Choice for 12 years and today was the last day. In 12 years I called them for my dryer and this HVAC system and no assistance. Do not waste your time or money with these monkeys

I initially filed my claim with you on July 29, the technician arrived as scheduled on August 3, the oven could not be repaired. On August 6 your firm offered an amount that doesn't even cover the cost of the least expensive oven on the market, much less the taxes and installation. You have to do better.

I got sucked in on a 5 year Choice Warranty. Worst warranty imaginable. LG built in microwave went out and had to be replaced. New LG comparable unit $299. + tax. I had to go buy unit and pay $100 to install. CHOICE WOULD ONLY SEND ME A CHECK GOR $194.

The positive reviews are on point

The positive reviews are on point. I have never had a problem when submitting the claim and the site makes it easy to fill out the form. The technicians have not only solved the problem but answered any questions I might have. I would recommend Choice Home Warranty to others.

Bait & Switch Contract

I am a 65-year-old, thirty-year military veteran who served in ground combat action with the Marine Corps in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kosovo. I’m also a single father of a 15-year-old, and I was diagnosed with leukemia from toxins exposure in Afghanistan.
I had been with American Home Shield (AHS) since I purchased my cabin in 2017. In time, I was paying AHS over $200 monthly contract, only to find out that when I set up any claim for service and paid the $100 service call fee, the technician would come out here only to be told that unless the item and/or system stopped working all together, and it was not covered enriching them with and extra $100 on top of my monthly payment.
After much frustration, I did some research and was hoping that Choice Home Warranty (CHW) would be a better fit, and I signed my contract on 06/23/2026 understanding that I was required to wait 45 days before any claims could be honored. The week of August 10th my hot water heater stopped working, and I submitted a claim. First it took CHW over a week to get a plumber out to my home, and when the technician told CHW that the system needs to be replaced, then CHW came back to the technician and I with: “Your policy has the following exclusion, all systems must be in proper working order on the effective date of this home warranty contract. Known and unknown pre-existing conditions are not covered.”
If I’m not gifted with x-ray vision or clairvoyancy how can the ownness come back to me when the hot water heater was working fine up to a week ago? If CHW would send a “pre-existing condition” evaluator for ALL the items I’m paying them $88.03/monthly to annotate, which items are or will not be covered next time I submit a claim. However, with wording like the quote above they are not going to fix anything because they will always default to “pre-existing condition,” which is nothing more than a shameful bait and switch. If I was to replace the system out of pocket, I was quoted at: $1620 that includes a 10% veteran’s discount.
Lastly, besides living on a fixed income and having been diagnosed with the leukemia on October 10, 2025, I had a complete thyroidectomy from cancer in December-2012, and since then my body is unable to regulate its temperature and I am very susceptible to cold, which is now being exacerbated by having to take cold showers. I have submitted an appeal through a provided hyperlink, and I’m waiting for a case worker to be assigned so I can more excuses as to why my contract can’t be honored, yet you are taking my payments with no objections. This if foul, wrong, and no way to treat a senior citizen who served his country and pays his premiums.

Never NEVER use Choice Home Warranty

Never NEVER use Choice Home Warranty. Why? Because they don't pay out. They attract you with a low price and up to 3.5 years of service. But, when you need something fixed in your home, YOU pay for it. Examples: 1. Our garage door opener stopped working when I tired to open it from the car. Was told the infrared system went out but they don't cover that. As long you can get out of the car, go in through the front door, open the garage door and press the wall button, they won't pay for a new one. 2. Needed a new home AC system. Not only did they make us pay for the unit, we paid the installer. They said without the warranty, we'd have paid double. Liars. I checked and basically we paid the entire thing out of pocket. 3. Same with a hot water heater, we paid a thousand dollars out of pocket to have it installed. Claim updates were needed. Bottom line, this company is bogus as they come. When you buy a policy it should be no out of pocket unless you're quoted a deductible. We weren't. Needless to say we left well before our prepaid contract ended. I'll say it again, NEVER ever consider using Choice. They are as crooked as the day is long.
