The lady working in the box office on Thursday August 24th around 12:30PM at the Perkins Rowe location was very disrespectful. She didn't greet me. When time to select my seat she didn't make eye contact and just asked,"Where you wanna sit?" She then printed my ticket and slid it very hard under the slot and when I said thank you there was no response.
Very unprofessional.

Complete lack of transparency

Cinemark recently upped its prices. I am a movie club member and received an email letting me know ahead of time, and said if I paid for my membership in full for the year I would be locked in at the previous prices. I agreed and paid in full. I was shocked when I was paying $2 more a ticket, despite the email promising the previous rate.

I called and the customer service agent said it wasn’t his fault marketing didn’t explain it properly and there was nothing he could do. I followed up with an email, saying I’m unhappy with the bait and switch, followed up with a non-resolution and an eye roll. Cinemark treated me like an idiot! I previously enjoyed being a Movie Club member so much.

And wouldn’t you know. They never replied. They don’t care about customers at all. Just another greedy, scammy company. Do not trust them with your money!

Abuse of my time. Excessive ads after the posted showtime.

When I go to see a movie I expect it to start near the showtime. After 25 minutes of post showtime previews and more ads, the movie finally started. I rushed dinner to be there on time for ads? I don't pay to see ads. I'm done with big movie house chains that disrespect my time. It's abusive. I was so irritated by showtime that I couldn't enjoy the movie. I'll stick to streaming or small local theaters.

First attempt and hopefully last

First attempt and hopefully last, bought tickets for wrong date and ask to honor for the next day, no budge on helping, “I’ll get a manager, wait over here” we were even going to suffer the close up seats. Anyway not a good experience.

PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE BREAD AND DONT…

PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE BREAD AND DONT GO TO THIS PLACE. I had to login just to leave this review. DO NOT GO HERE if you have any self-respect.
The AMC in Edinburg is 10x better.
I went with my wife to see the new Avatar in cinemark . Paid 40 dollars for both tickets. Get there, the theatre itself is dirty, sticky, cup holders filled with soda (ours had pickles in it), the floors had never been mopped, and behind our seat was a USED TAMPON. When looking at the other seats around, they were just as sticky, disgusting and torn up as our own. We tried to get a refund and they fought back and forth about it saying it was not dirty and gave us vouchers that I doubt they will actually redeem for a showing. Not only this but the Theatre is run by children and none of the soda machines work. There were water bugs or cockroaches on the drink machines, the lobby is absolutely disgusting. PLEASE I BEG ANYONE WHO IS THINKING OF GOING HERE TO GO TO AMC . As a small complaint, There is no real staff that give you tickets and if there is an issue you have to wait in a long a$$ concession line. Please don’t waste your money on this cartel front of a movie theater. Go anywhere else. go to AMC where they make movies better

Stop screaming it out loud

Seats are comfy. Delivery of concessions convenient. I don’t need to explain to a 3 & 5 yo what your own sexuality of gay is.
It doesn’t always need to be announced…even in the pre-movie screenings where it begins.

Deaf or hard of hearing, not for you

Based on my repeated experience with Cinemark movie theaters, they have little concern for accommodating deaf or hard of hearing customers.

Two different movie theaters in the San Francisco Bay area repeatedly have malfunctioning closed caption equipment. More than 70% of the time the closed caption device does not work requiring abandoning the movie 20 to 30 minutes in. Of course they always issue a refund, however they do not fix the problem. Most recently, the Cinemark century 9 theater in San Francisco completely failed to charge all of the equipment, a simple task. When my deaf friend and I were issued the equipment, we were told it would come to life in the theater when the movie started. The equipment was completely dead. We were then issued replacement closed captioning equipment, and the battery on both of these units died within 30 minutes. The staff blamed the previous shift. I've written to the theater manager, I've called the theater manager, and I've written to the corporate offices. I haven't received word back from any of them.

Very disappointed in the customer…

Very disappointed in the customer service with this company. I am a movie club member and I bought my tickets on line for a group of seven. We went to see the movie and they were closed. There was a note on the door saying they were closed due to an electrical issues. I never received a message that they were closed in my email. I am part of another companies reward program and the must have had the same issue because I did receive a message from them saying they were closed.
I wasted gas and time coming to a theater that was closed. The manager said my tickets would automatically be refunded. I waited until almost a week for the refund to show up but it never came. I drove back to the theater and they said there was nothing they could do I had to call customer service.
I called customer service four times before I finally reached someone. While you are on hold they say someone will be with you in six minutes. Every time I call I wait at least 20 to 30 minutes on hold to finally speak to someone. When I finally reached someone they said they would refund all my tickets. That was on the 30th. I waited until the 7th to call again because I was only refunded for three of the seven tickets purchased through the movie club app. Once again after several attempts to reach them I finally spoke to someone. The lady said she would take care of it and asked if I wanted someone to call me or email. I requested a call. But she could not resolve my issue she. I never received a phone call. I called again on the 13th because I did not receive a call but. I let customer service know all the trouble I have had getting my money back. Never did anyone ever apologize about what all I went through just to get my money back he just said he would add points to my rewards. I have not received a call back from anyone like I requested.nor have any points been added to my account. If I had bounced a check they would come back on me with fees but they mess up and I get nothing not even an apology.
I am very very disappointed in their customer service team!

Cinemark was my "go to theatre" they were clean (Lakewood, Colorado), good popcorn, free refills, good snack selection. Went to see Top Gun and discovered no refill on a popcorn cuz of covid. GIVE ME A BREAK!! Then give us a new container for a refill. You just gave yourself a huge raise. The fountain drink thing didn't work. There was only individual pizzas, no hot dogs, nachos etc... the snack bar area was dirty, the cafe area closed with fans and water on the floor. This used to be a nice theatre, so sad that you have lowered your standards.
You have lost my business. And stop using the excuse of covid to rip off your customers 2 1/2 years later. Seriously???? You get 2 stars because the seats were very comfortable (that's all you have going for you at this time).

We are not big theatre goers anymore…

We are not big theatre goers anymore and this experience justifies why we will not go back. Looked forward to seeing Topgun. After sitting through 30 minutes of commercials, the movie started with a bang! And the bang continued with a decibel level that was so high, we decided not to endure the noise for the sake of "entertainment". Movies do not need to create pain to be enjoyable but I think Cinemark believes they do. We will wait for it to come out "on demand" at home and will be able to adjust our own volume on our own big screen. No more theatres!

I agree with the review about the large popcorn. No refills on a product that cost pennies, and they charge $10. Then they don’t give you a refill because of Covid? Really! If they don’t want to put the refill in the original container then give us a new 10 cent container. Also don’t like their so called “convenience fee”. Cinemark has driven me away from going to the movies.

My wife and I was very disappointed with the service.

My wife and I was enjoying a movie at Cinemark when 15 minutes into the movie the screen went black and could only hear sound. We immediately departed and requested a refund to find out the staff used Golf terminologies awarding a rain check instead of a full refund. I indicated we were returning to old faithful (AMC Theaters) and did not want to return to Cinemark. However, in order to honor their rain check policy, we would need to return to their facility and hopefully not experience the same fate. To make things worse my wife waited at the door while I inquire into our refund, I had to show proof of purchase for 2 people, otherwise I would only receive one rain check. Not a good experience to a relatively new theater. I would not recommend Cinemark to family and friends.

Honest employees

I visited the cinemark in Merriam, Kansas with my family. My daughter was in the picture booth with her cousin and apparently dropped her Christmas money.
We were shopping afterwards and she realized she must of dropped the money at the theatre. She was very upset, I explained the money was most likely gone. We returned to see if the money was found, she asked around and the worker took her to the customer service, where they gave her her $60. The worker was honest and turned in the money. I am glad that cinemark hires such good honest people, makes the world and my little girl believe this world has good left in it.

Customer service in the last several…

Customer service in the last several years has really declined in most service-oriented places where it use to excel such as restaurants, retail and now movie theaters. What makes this review of the Cinemark Theater local management's behavior at Howard Hughes most disappointing is the huge lack of non-response from Corporate Cinemark in Plano, Texas.
After spending over $1,400 in private viewing fees since the summer and recently to have the GM, Emily speak to me in such a disrespectful and dismissive manner last week was the last straw. I called Cinemark Guest Services in Texas and was assured that a supervisor there would call me right back to address this issue and was told that this is "not the way Cinemark treats its valued guests". Guess what? No one bothered to call me back. I even followed up with an email addressed to Cinemark's Excutive team over a week ago. Still no response. The pandemic has drastically affected the movie industry with a large drop in movie attendance at most major theaters. As mentioned above, my family and I spent our hard earned cash to patronize this location on several occasions. When a serious issue with the local GM occured; my requests for further assistance was met with same attitude as their GM displayed...total indifference. Cinemark, I get your message loud and clear and will take my business elsewhere.

Do not waste time trying to call

Calling anyone at this company is a joke. I reached a min wage employee who just kept putting me on hold without talking to me. And I called 1-800-CINEMARK and waited 45 minutes before hanging up.

Disappointed in suspending large popcorn refills

They claimed this was due to COVID— which is not following the science. COVID is not spread via contact! And how does this realistically reduce contact anyway? Absolutely no reason for suspending free refills and not discounting the price of a large popcorn. Other than greed. Very disappointing and reduces our incentive to go out for a movie.

Lost Interest in spending $ Here

Our family of 6 has received multiple gift cards to here as Christmas gifts over the years. There hasn't been a movie that we've been wanting to see in 3 years and now there's COVID. I was excited to learn about the Private Watch Party option, as I could provide a little normalcy for my boys- even if just for a moment. After signing up for their Cinemark.com account, I learned that you can only add 5 gift cards to your account at a time. Well, that doesn't cover it. I call the theater, they tell me to call the 1800 number. I do, and they tell me they can't combine gift cards without a proof of purchase. How do I get that, when they were gifts? I thought I could go in and set it up and pay for it, but nope it's an online thing only.

So I have over $300 in Cinemark gift cards at $10 each and can't do anything safely with my family to use them. Fabulous. I'll let the gift giver know NOT to WASTE THEIR MONEY, and everyone else.

I love their popcorn!

We didn't even watch a movie - my husband just went in there to get me some popcorn because I was having a bad day. I am obsessed with movie theater popcorn, especially Cinemark movie theater popcorn. He asked the lady for extra butter, and she went above and beyond. She put butter throughout 4 or 5 different places. I swear these are the first people to ever take us seriously. When we say 'extra butter' we MEAN it - like give me diabetes with that extra butter please. Anyway, the extra buttery popcorn turned my day around. It's that easy.
