These cowboys had my watch for 32 days …
These cowboys had my watch for 32 days to get fixed, I heard absolutely nothing from them in that time, I proceeded to make contact myself with no help whatsoever, after heated arguments I was told the problem was a replacement watch battery which they need £40 to replace the battery, but here’s the funny thing about that as they wanted me to pay for a battery before they even diagnosed the problem, my take on the matter was they hadn’t attempted to fix anything so I demanded my watch to be returned, I buy many citizen watches for my collection and after this experience I won’t be buying any more, poor customer support,
Worthless Guarantee
Bought my wife a Citizen EcoDrive in September 2021. In January the winder came out whilst I was changing the time. Returned to Citizen, through the shop from which we purchased the watch, and Citizen say the fault is not covered by their 5 year guarantee and the shop could not persuade them otherwise.
Citizen makers of the Unreliable watch
I was gifted a Citizen Promaster watch 3yrs ago £170
The watch boasts 300m Dive but suffered condensation after just swimming & stopped working.
Returned to Citizen for repair and was quoted £111.
I couldn't see the sense in retaining such an unreliable watch given costs.
Citizen apologised & offered me 25% discount on my next Citizen watch??
Why would I waste money on another Citizen Watch??
Great watch
CITIZEN doesn't know what "Customer Service" means
The words "Customer Service" isn't a known function at Citizen Watch Company. If you contact customer service you'll get an automated reply basically telling you that they'll get back to you in 1 or 2 business days. One or two business days in Citizen Watch speak means NEVER! What is amazing is that the issues with their watches are relatively minor, and the issues ALWAYS seem to be the same. The same problems crop up over and over with each of their watch models. You would think that after a while they would have a FAQ for each watch model detailing the most common issues with the most common solutions - but NO, they're either too stupid to figure this out or they don't care. I'm siding with the "Don't Care" option. However, now that I know what I know I recommend you stick with Casio or Seiko if you want a Japanese watch because CITIZEN doesn't care about it's customers or should I say VICTIMS!
Not happy with citizen eco drive and customer service
My wife was talked into buying me a citizen eco watch for our 30th wedding anniversary instead of a seiko to replace the one she had bought me for our 15th anniversary, she was not told it didn't have luminous hands so can't tell the time in low or no light and the date is so small l need full daylight and a magnifying glass to read it, after wearing it a few times l took it back to Angus & coote with box and receipt and explained the situation hoping to maybe swap for a seiko which was cheaper where l was told she should have known it didn't have luminous hands even though there is nothing in the advertising about it and l should have brought it straight back instead of wearing it as it has a small scratch on stainless steel band even though Hervey Bay is a fair distance away and we only go in once a month or so. So now I'm wearing my 15 year old seiko with the gold worn off the band and case but still keeps perfect time!
WARRENTY IS A LIE
Just read thier warrnetly and don't be fooled into thinking that any common manufactoring faults that tend to happen will be fixed
Cant repair a Citizen watch?
I have a valuable watch that means a lot to me from early 1990's. It stopped working. So i sent it to the experts, who i assumed were Citizen for service, or repair. They returned it immediately, saying they don't have the parts for it and should try independent watch repairs as they don't need to use genuine citizen parts like they do. Surely there's spare parts in other citizen service centres around europe? This is not a repair service I'd expect from a worldwide brand like citizen.
Going the distance on time.
I purchased my Citizen model A160-H16331in March of 1999. It has been my only watch and I wear it every day. It has lost some of the luster over the years but has never failed me. I am seriously considering leaving it in my will as I suspect that it may outlive me. Great product!
CZ Smart Gen 2
Bought a CZ smart gen 2 and wish I never bothered. I've owned several smart watches and thought I'd try something new with a somewhat "premium" brand. The watch is shocking and shouldn't have been put on sale with so many issues, the fact they stopped selling this due to issues tells you a lot, and I believe they should refund the people who bought this and have a very expensive paperweight. Nothing seems to want to work properly, doesn't count or show steps half the time, the alarm rings late, the syncing is all over the place and takes me to a troubleshooting page half the time. Tried to review on the actual citizen website and they haven't posted it, hiding their negative reviews. Buy a Fitbit instead, works miles better for half the price.
Abysmal, lazy and careless customer service
I wanted to buy BM8180-03E watch which is now discontinued. I tried browsing their AU website but it literally has 1000s of watches, so after spending few hours searching I contacted the customer service to help me find it. Every single time, no matter how much I explained these people don’t even TRY to search for the website. They dont know their own products, AT ALL. Customer service team is horrible, even the team manager who i asked to escalate to is just as bad.
I tried to ask for repair the BM8180-03E and cost for just replacing the screen was atrocious, it was almost the same price as full price when i bought it few years ago.
Excellent service packaging superb then…simply the best.
Excellent service packaging superb then the watch WOW 🤩
Citizen do not know their own product...
Sent watch for repair as the crown wasn't locking any longer, they immediately returned the watch to me explaining that this watch doesn't have a crown locking feature.
I've owned the watch for c.10 years & I'm guessing that if that was the case I would have noticed this before now!
I have contacted Citizen to explain that they're incorrect but cannot get any response.
I ordered the Citizen Promaster…
I ordered the Citizen Promaster Aqualand Eco-Drive Diver's 200m with a blue strap from the Greek company Oraora.gr My problem is not with the retailer that provided exceptional and fast service. The watch, which I had much anticipated, arrived today 19/9/23. The blue strap is TOO SHORT. Although I am not obese and have a rhin wrist I can attach rhe strap in the 2nd to last hole!!! Unacceptable cheap mentality from Citizen. Yes you saved 1 mm in plastic. Yes you do supply an extention strap to fit a dive suit but I hope you do not expect me to move around in my wetsuit so that your lousy short strap feels comfortable. This is my 3rd Citizen watch (As a professional diver I own previous models). Crap from a company I used to value so much. Noe I have to purchase an aftermarket 24mm strap just because you treat your products like rubbish
Had the watch 2 months and the strap is faulty.
Had the watch 2 months and the strap is all stained when it’s only been worn 5 times. Have sent them numerous photos and they want me to sent it back to them for review at my cost which is more expensive than the actual replacement strap. They simply don’t want to take any kind of responsibility. Very poor customer service.
Damaged my divers watch during service
I sent my vintage titanium divers watch into Citizen watch UK for a service. The cost was reasonable at £75.
After weeks of chasing them for updates, they finally admitted that they had caused significant damage to the watch caseback in trying to open it. Quite astonishing that this could happen. My watch was over 10 years old and a favourite watch of mine, now it’s scarred forever.
They did offer me a replacement watch in compensation, which I accepted, but wanted to warn other watch owners to think twice before using the Citizen UK service centre.
Citizen/Miyota watch movements
In June 2023, my wife bought a new Rotary watch from a long-established, reputable dealer in Cambridge - these watches have a Citizen/Miyota movement. In the first 2 weeks, it lost time on THREE separate occasions, a total of 15 minutes. (It kept perfect time between these three 'cardiac arrests'.) The shop were great, and replaced the battery for us - this did not cure the problem! The shop then gave us a new, identical watch - SAME PROBLEM! Again, the shop were very helpful, and very generously allowed us to have a new, more expensive, Bulova watch for no extra charge. But Bulova watches also have Citizen/Miyota movements ... The new watch has the same problem! My wife has always treated her watches with great care, and never does any activities that could possibly cause any problem. There seems to be no similar problem reported anywhere online.
If I could give Citizen 0 stars
If I could give Citizen 0 stars, I would. I send my Bulova watch (now owned by Citizen), to Citizen to have a battery replacement. My watch was returned broken. It took 5 weeks for Citizen to repair and return my watch. I was not updated regarding the progress, and had to send emails to find out. I asked for compensation for breaking my watch, and the length of time I was without it. After numerous emails back and forth, I was told I would be refunded the initial battery cost, however, I only received a partial refund. The Customer Service Manger, Sophie Bowell, was rude and abrupt to me when I requested the additional amount, and compensation of £17.00. I will never buy a Citizen watch, and will look at other options when my watch needs a new battery next time.
Purchased the divers 300m eco drive…
Purchased the divers 300m eco drive watch with the rubber silicone strap. The watch was perfect but the strap snapped in two after 12 months of wear. I ordered a new one through Citizen (they are not cheap) and the new second strap snapped after 4 months of wear. I contacted Citizen and they asked me to send photos which I did. I then received an email asking me to forward payment for a new strap and of course i objected. They now want me to send back the actual watch with the strap attached so they can examine it, with the shipping costs paid by me. The cost of shipping makes the whole thing uneconomical and a waste of time. I love the watch but Citizen customer service really lets the brand down.
Lousiest Customer Service Ever
Citizen watches have been in my family for decades, and so I wanted to purchase the Dive Pro watch. Oh boy was I wrong or what?? First I ordered 2 watches...they ended up sending me only 1, when I contacted them to find out where the second watch was ( emails are to be responded to within 1-2 business days according to the website ) I ended up waiting a whole week with no response. Then I phoned customer service instead. First I had to wait like half an hour until someone picked up the phone then they threw me out of the line so I tried again. With no real explanation I was told the second watch was being shipped out that day....it wasn't. Phoned them again the next day with again over 20 minute wait time to get someone, all of a sudden they were able to provide a tracking number after placing me on hold 10 minutes. I requested that the watch I received be shipped back and the other cancelled--well no I doesn't work like that.... they made me wait for receiving the second one and then if I still wanted to I could return them. Finally after receiving the second watch and phoning them again it took 3 days and then I was finally sent ( 1 ) return label. I placed both watches in one box as only 1 sticker was sent. The tracking showed the watches were both delivered... but the website says give up to 10 days for a refund. 10 days went by nothing. Phoned again. Was given some sort of excuse that they had computer issues but couldn't really tell me when I can expect a refund. It's almost a month now and I'm still running after them to get my refund. I seriously do not recommend purchasing Citizen watches. The customer service is the lousiest service, and should you have to send a watch in for repair or return, pack a ton of patients because it'll take forever to have something happen from their end. Honestly can say -you would be better putting your hard earned money into a different watch brand.
