Brought a Citizen Attesa watch and failed within a week. According to ChatGPT failure rate likely around 3% due to poor battery/capacitors as to the GPS variants are very demanding of them. Sh... See more

Poor receiving department and customer service
I spent over $40.00 to send this watch, certified and insured, in double packaging that the mailman packaged himself and they rejected the package and sent the package back for a small rip in the top? No one in the receiving department in that company does their jobs! I DO NOT have $40.00 just to throw away due to someone not wanting to do their job in the intake department. This was an anniversary gift for my husband, and they just basically took my money, that I did not have to throw away. He has spent over $10,000 on Eco-Drive watches (that are all broke) with this company in the past and now they are losing a loyal customer.
I sent an eco drive watch for repair…
I sent an eco drive watch for repair two months ago. Estimated time four to six weeks after one week was told it needed a full service and replace face quoted £180.
After six weeks told delay waiting for parts, thought Citizen repair centre would have had parts available! After two months told we are short of repair staff. This customer is now getting short on patience and minus my watch. Pleased to say on 20/4/22 I got my watch back thought I'd seen the last of it. For eventually completing the work I have changed the * to 2.
One of the worst customer service experiences - ever.
Bought a £200 eco drive watch for everyday use. Had a power reserve indicator which never showed anything more than half charge. Here was my mistake. I returned the brand new watch to the service centre and not the retailer. Now be warned: even if your watch has never been worn but is faulty, the service centre WILL NOT REPLACE, only repair. The whole return process looks like it will be a total of eight weeks. And you know what, they really don't care. Not that I will ever buy a Citizen watch again, but my first port of call for faulty goods will be the retailer. Incidentally, registering your watch for the guarantee means nothing. This company assumes all customers lie about the purchase date, so you need to send your stamped guarantee card which they plainly state, along with all other packaging, they will not return.
I got the worst impression today at the…
I got the worst impression today at the Citizen Mongkok , Hong Kong store. I bring my watch to adjust the strap. Because this The Citizen AQ4020 red dial is the limited 200 model in Japan. I paid USD3,330 purchase on line at the Chrno24.com. The myopia male staff looks very unhappy and unfriendly that I purchased not from him. He is feeling very mad to adjust me the strap. I asked him what is the function of the right size button. This myopia guy answered me that you go home and sit down to read the manual. What the hell for this rubbish after sales service provided. My watch have 5he one year international warranty. This* is my first time to purchase their high end The Citizen Aq4020 54w red dial model. I won't purchase 5his Citizen again. Citizen is just a Citizen. It's just a cheap band compared with Swiss watch maker. Even their staffs in Mongkok branch , Hong Kong are not polite and uneducated. I have so many luxury watches including Cartier , Patek Philippe, A Lang. Non of these Swiss brands service attitude look like The Citizen worst. I am really understood why the luxury brand have their prestige and brand value. The Citizen watch have no resell value and no brand value. The customer service at Mongkok branch Hong you is the worst that I faced at the rest of my life.
Watch strap broken within a few months…
Watch strap broken within a few months despite this they wanted to charge me an extortionate amount for a replacement or send it to them at my expense for a quote to fix it. Worse of all was an arrogant customer services experience. Avoid avoid avoid
Repairs charging misleading and manipulative
My Watch sent in for repair and a quote was provided which was accepted, then a month later another quote was given for twice the first cost. The work for the fist quote was never done but the money was kept.
Citizen do not properly inspect watches prior to giving quotes and taking payment, they then look to charge extra when they have the watch. The practice seems deliberate and manipulative.
I would never deal with this company again and recommend others do not either.
Eco-Drive Navihawk
I bought a Eco-Drive Navihawk A-T Stainless Steel Embossed Strap Watch on July/2021 and in less than three months the parts inside the case broke. It's been one month and nothing happened. The company claimed not to have the part to exchange and asked me for 14 weeks to fix it without giving me anything in return. the watch cost me $500 and now they want to offer me an exchange for half the value of my watch. They didn’t even contact me to tell the whole story, I was the one that contacted them after 15 business day to follow up. CITIZEN is a ridiculous company that to sell offers everything to the customer, but to give support they disappear. You are a company with no respect to your customer. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH THEM. Not worthy.
Very poor after sales service.
Very poor after sales service.
I spent nearly £600 on one of their watches and as I have a brain tumour I have difficulty in understanding manuals which they are aware of. I have a small issue to correct and all they do is send me online manuals which defeats the object. They have sent a returns label as well which they expect me to pay for freight and insurance. This is lazy and not a service to expect from a semmingly reputable company.
Don’t waste your money. I spent over £140 on a citizen watch
I spent over £140 on a citizen watch. Less that 2 years later a pin in the watch strap came out and was lost. Sent it to them for repair and they quoted over £100 to repair. Do not buy a watch from them as the warranty is worthless. Batteries for regular watches are now easy and cheap to buy so don’t waste your money on an overpriced eco watch from citizen. They should be ashamed. I believe the positive reviews are bogus
My Citizen watch was just over 1 year…
My Citizen watch was just over 1 year old. The pin that holds the strap to the dial broke. I thought it would be guaranteed under warranty. I posted the watch as per their website. To my surprise I got an email for a £106 to repair the watch. The watch cost me only £120 so I declined. I took it to a local watch repair shop in Harrow and they replaced the pin for £2.50.So
1/The guarantee seems attractive but is not honoured
2/They are trying to rip off loyal customers with expensive quotes.
Citizen need to wake up to their poor repair service

Quality / Price
All in all I think Citizen have the best quality watches for the price point. Most timepieces are solidly constructed and have that Japanese build quality. One or two of mine have had faults over the years but in general I have kept coming back!
Citizen warranty is not worth the paper it's written on
I bought a Citizen Eco-drive Satellite Wave from Ernest Jones for £1300:00 with a 5 year Citizen warranty + 1 year extra when registering it. It's now 4 years old and works perfectly but the solar glass face has cracked. I took it to Ernest Jones for a quote to replace it. They rang Citizen repair in Birmingham while I was there and the price quoted was £63 to replace the glass or £175 to replace it and service the watch. As it worked perfectly I choose to just have the glass replaced. So 2 and a half weeks after handing it over at Ernest Jones they have just rang me to say that the watch needs servicing but to do that and replace the glass the cost will be £537:00. After picking myself off the floor I told Ernest Jones that if they cared to look at the paperwork that was issued with the watch the cost quoted was £63:00. They said that Citizen was now saying the cost is £537:00 and the glass cannot be replaced without the service. I told them to send the watch back ( another 2 - 3 weeks apparently ). So the options are: go with that price or get the watch back and have the glass replaced elsewhere whereby the warranty will no longer stand. So essentially pay their inflated prices for a repair that's not required or loose your warranty - I will let you decide when you consider buying a Citizen watch.

Sent my watch in Dec 2019 for repair
Sent my watch in Dec 2019 for repair: Broken crystal and battery had stopped 3 years after purchase. Originally the battery stopped and I brought it into a local watch repair service in town to change out the battery for me. When he got the back off, he could NOT get it back on. I found out online that Citizen style watches purposely do this so that you must send them back to the manufacturer. However, some sites do instruct a way to get the back on yourself...which failed miserably resulting in a broken crystal. So, I sent in my watch for a new battery, crystal, and to have the back put on. Those were the only issues with my watch. Then pandemic hit in 2020, and I knew it would take awhile to repair and send back. Totally understandable. Repair was under $100 and fair. My watch was sent back May 2021. Everything was repaired, except the band of my watch was cut clean in half! Not broken, actually looks like someone snipped it with scissors. It was not damaged when I sent it in and the notes regarding the inspection when it was received by Citizen didn't state the damage. It stated the band being cut in the 6 o'clock position (which was from me cutting off the excess end of the band to accommodate my tiny wrist). The part of the band that was snipped in half was done at the 12 o'clock portion of the band where the buckle was. Called and spoke to service, and they guy was extremely lackluster in his customer service skills and said my watch could not have possibly been cut at their location. I told him if the watchband needed repair at time of sending it in, I certainly would have noted that on my repair instructions. They sent my watch back well packaged in a box with no damage. They finally said they needed to see the watch to survey the damage and I needed to send the WHOLE WATCH back to them in the mail! They said they couldn't just have me send back the watch band only or even better email or text them a photo of the watch with the damaged band. They didn't apologize and the guy sounded totally bored on the phone. Told him I didn't want to send my watch back in to them if it came back with a damaged band to begin with. I don't recommend this company, especially if you need to send the watch to them for repairs. I recommend Etsy or privately owned company if you wish to purchase a watch instead.
Hopeless guarantee service
I registered my 5 year guarantee as soon as I bought the watch. When it was around 3 years old, some of the numbers became unstuck and are floating around inside the dial. I contacted Citizen who said that despite my having registered the guarantee they would only repair it if I could produce the original receipt. I couldn't find it and even if I could have the Argos receipt would have faded out completely by that time. Waste of space.
watch out
purchased a citizen watch 2015,got two batteies in that time, then it stopped, parts for watch obsolete.seemingly given model number to citizen the jeweller had watch in 2003 which i was not aware of & said model was discontinued then. jeweller not interested, citizen not interested, so no more "reputable" watch from them.prefer no star but hey nobody cares.
All the Watch You Will Ever Need
All the watch you will ever need! I bought a Citizen Eco Drive Chronograph and it is fantastic. Had it now over 10 years and it has always kept perfect time, to the second. I'm a bit of a watch snob and have IWC, Omega, Longines and others but I can honestly say the Citizen is so much easier to live with. The lume glows all night, it never needs winding/charging, and if it does get damaged then you don't have to worry as it was relatively cheap to buy in the first place. Having said that, my watch looks immaculate after 10 years despite wearing frequently. With the chronograph, alarm and two time setting, what more could you want. I bought it because it looks fab and so pleased I did.
Thrilled
When the bracelet on my husband's titanium Citizen watch broke (out of warranty), we took it back to the store and they repaired it twice - but it was still useless. It gathered dust for a time, and we then found it had stopped working. We were about to throw it away, but then discovered Citizen Service Centre (UK) and glad we did. The watch is now as good as new, and he is delighted.
Affordable,Reliable,Style & proportions; A+
My experience with Citizen watches has been great for the last 25 years, quality, reliability, beauty and most important affordable to anyone., one must know that eco-drive charge times are different and that you must not let the watch in a dark place.Customer service has been great and the online site easy to navigate.
Seriously avoid sending your watch in…
Seriously avoid sending your watch in for any type of repairs, they will do nothing that you ask. send your watch back worse shape than when you sent it. then try to charge you for a brand new watch. You would think you could trust the manufacturer with a simple repair, they over inflated the repair to over $650 to top it off they could care less. They won’t even send back everything that you sent them. Terrible horrible service sorry I ever got involved with these people. I should of known when you can’t even get a simple gasket for your watch. Then you are forced to send it back to them even then they don’t do it.
