BEWARE!!! Calvin Ray Johnson is not a licensed General Contractor
Do not use this company !!! Calvin Ray Johnson, PowerMax LLC, misrepresents himself/ company as a licensed General Contractor, when in fact he/ it is not.
Calvin Ray Johnson/ PowerMax will start a job, then fail to finish despite being paid in full. He and his lead man Dave Kowalski, play good contractor/ bad contractor to keep clients on the hook. They told me two weeks for a project and 2 months later they still had not finished (most of their work must be redone to code) The crew comes in, does a little work and makes it look like things are progressing. What is left is a big mess and big hole in out bank account.
Calvin Ray Johnson assured us they could/ would in a written contract procure proper permits, which they cannot since they are not licensed to do such. We must have much of their work redone because it was shoddy and not done to code.
Again, avoid using PowerMax Renovations LLC or C J Renovations (Calvin Ray Johnson's other unlicensed company offering the same services).
There is no review button on the Facebook page; which is why I presume all bad reviews are found on other websites. Please do not use this company, Calvin Ray Johnson intentionally defrauded us, and stole our money.
We have submitted complaints with Better Business Bureau, LARA and The Attorney General to investigate his fraudulent business practices. Hopefully, they will be held accountable and not allowed to continue in business.
