If I could give zeros stars I would. Ive used nice & easy for years and the recent changes in formula and ultra gloss condition is terrible. The quality of the condition has gone down so much and i... See more

Couldn't agree more with these reviews
Couldn't agree more with these reviews. I've used this for over 20 years with perfect results, and have to say the new formula is horrendous. Everything about it. It stinks...quite literally, and after three washes I can't get rid of the smell. There's no shine like the old version, it gives rubbish coverage, stains your skin and burns your scalp. Why on earth did it change?! Unbelievable.
Disappointing new formula Clairol Nice N Easy hair colour.
I have used Clairol Nice N Easy for about 30 years and have always been pleased with the result, until
I used the new formula. Instead of the glossy full coverage that I had come to expect, this time my hair is dull and grey roots are not covered. I am so disappointed and will not be buying again.
I have used this product for years but…
I have used this product for years but in recent times since the product has been changed I have noticed my hair has become coarse and thinning at a rapid rate. After reading other reviews I now know that this product is the cause of this!!!
Why change a product that has been proven and successful to one that is way inferior???
I can only guess this wasn't to improve the product for the consumer, but rather the ingredients have been changed for ingredients that are cheaper to manufacture this greater profit!!!
I will no longer be using this or any other Clairol products!!!
Do not use
Do not use, my hair is like straw, breaking and loads of hair loss, I always had thick hair but now its destroyed, should be taken off the market, awful product
The Frost and Tip price is terrible
The Frost and Tip price is terrible. BECAUSE! I have short hair and it only takes about a quarter of the mixture to frost and tip my hair. So three quarters gets tipped down the drain. You need to make a smaller cheaper pack for people with short hair.
Please listen to your customers
I wrote a review awhile ago saying how bad the new formula was...they had changed the shape of the box aswell going from a rectangular box to one being angled having a corner cut off....Ive noticed they have gone back to the old shaped box trying to imply they have gone back to the old formula but they have'nt...very sneaky Clairol but it does'nt wash!!!
Do not use
I have used nice and easy many times since I was in my 20s and loved the results, im now 42.
Recently used the rich mahogany brown, i have used this colour 3 times in the past. big mistake this time. Why have you changed the formula!!! ???? It seems I'm one of the lucky ones with a minor reaction after reading all the reviews on here!!!
My hair and forehead have been itching, and my hair feels awful, shedding loads, and since read all the other reviews of poor ladies getting worse. Get rid of the new formula its not safe!! Particularly the brown colours.
disappointed
I have used N & E for over 30 years, new growth as usual but I have used N & E for over 30 years, new growth as usual lately blotches of dark almost black on a N 5 Med golden brown..today was worse.no grey coverage.
Hair loss!
I decided to try clairol to save some money. I haven’t used box hair coloring for 15 yrs. before this dreadful mistake. I immediately loss 70% of my hair afterwards. I’m sick. I had long thick beautiful hair beforehand. Don’t use Clairol hair coloring! It needs to be taken off the market!
i have used nice and easy dark brown…
i have used nice and easy dark brown hair dye for years , but you have changed it, last time thought i had a dud one it was lighter than normal i thought i had wrong colour but i had not i have just tried it again its awfull would love to give you zero stars or even minus stars , its lighter it rinses out a yukky brown green and my hair is not as dark brown as usual, odd and instead of the usual nice feeling and looking hair i get afterwards, its all greasy not nice will never use it again waist of money
Absolutely awful
Absolutely awful, I wish I could give zero stars like many other people in these reviews. I have naturally light brown hair and was attempting to dye it with the Medium Mahogany Brown color. This turned my hair an awful unnatural blue-ish pitch black. I have naturally curly dry hair, so there is nothing I can do to lighten what this horrible dye did, I can only hope it fades soon. Completely ruined my hair, never use this. I will be seeking a refund
Well...I guess I'll be a dark brunette…
Well...I guess I'll be a dark brunette for a while...
I've been using Nice n Easy for 25 years. I do my roots every 3-4 weeks (got 2 applications/package) and usually pull it through about once a year. It was so reliable that I'd buy up boxes whenever there was a sale and/or coupons. I did notice a while back the packaging and contents had changed but thought nothing of it. I was finally out of the old packaging. I'd vacillate between medium golden brown, light golden brown and lightest golden brown, depending on what results I wanted. My light golden brown hair had become strawberry blonde so it was time to darken it up a bit, so I went medium golden brown, without even batting an eyelid that anything would be different. Well, wrong-o! Dark brunette. At least it's got golden undertones so it's not dreadful with my redheads complexion but what a surprise after 25 years of use. Quite disappointing, Clairol...
*Note: even with all of my years of dermatological issues, I've not had any scalp issues, thank the Lord!*
4 DARK BROWN turned my hair black!
Some changes are not for good
I have used Nice & Easy since early 70s’ and NEVER had any reaction until last two years with your NEW formulas. As I write this review my head is still itching since a week ago of applying the color—and I have washed my hair practically every other day- will not EVER use again unless I see OLD formula on the box! Further color not as natural looking anymore—use to get lots of compliments but not now.
Bad reaction to new product
So I've used Clairol blonde 9.5A /101 hair colour for several years and have always found it to be a great product. In fact, I frequently got compliments on my hair colour and people didn't believe I was doing the colour myself. That was until recently. Clairol started changing the ingredients and names of the products, I used a new blonde colour (a little lighter) and my hair over the past 18 months has become very dry & brittle and my scalp has now become inflamed with sores and blisters. I've had to go to several dermatologists as my skin is so sensitive, and I've been on medication and steroids for months now. I have only realised tonight what the problem is when I was searching online for Clairol hair colour reviews and I came across the Trustpilot site and reviews from other people suffering from the same symptoms & experiences. I now know I'm not going mad and I am not the only person going through this reaction due to the change in their products. @Clairol, I'm not looking for compensation, I'm looking for a remedy and a plea to please stop selling this new product so other women don't suffer from these side effects. If you need to test my scalp I'm more than willing to oblige.
Do not buy
If l could give it minus 10 l would. After using this product for years the one in the new box is terrible it has ruined my hair very dry split ends terrible coverage. You say only the box has changed this cannot be true when l read all the reviews. You have made a happy person very sad and unhappy.

What has happened to this brand?
I have used Clairol Nice'n Easy for about ten years now, usually 9A (Light Ash blonde) and others in the 9/10 category. This time I experienced some stinging/burning feeling on the scalp, and the colour turned out much darker- a definite mid-brown, not blonde. Every so-called 'improvement' they make to the formula or the numbering system seems to result in a worse product. Please go back to the earlier formula.
After using Nice and Easy for years IColour confusion
After using Nice and Easy for years I now find it impossible to find the new number for 103 .My latest attempt at dark blonde turned out dark brown !Why can't you put the former numbers somewhere on the packaging.I shall have to find another brand which I can trust.
Go back to Old Product
My mother helped me color my hair using Clairol's Nice N' Easy when I was 16. After many years in January 2020 now 71 and still using Clairol's Nice N' Easy (ultra palest blonde 10 now 11) my hair had a green look to it - who told me? My doctor; how embarrassing. I waited about 6 weeks to recolor. Most of the green was located about 3 to 4” from the crown and spread out like /\. When I was finished, I had a towel full of hair my scalp felt like it was on fire. I started screaming to my husband, Terry; my hair, my hair is falling out. He came in and all he could say was holy S### there even greener than before. (February) I woke up and my face was burning, it was bright red, like a bad sunburn. I didn't know what to do, my hair, my pride and joy, it was more than halfway down my back a beautiful light blonde color. Not anymore there were broken ends all over my pillow, long pieces of hair. I lost hair from the top crown all the way around my head, then there was breakage 3" further down and then 4" further down. March my face was a mess I also had an allergic reaction to their new molecule they added to make their product more gentle and to help stop breakage. IS THAT A JOKE OR WHAT? Every day my face got worse, the skin was peeling off one layer after another with an oily wet substance coming out from under my skin it also felt like sand paper, bumps and scabs all over my face. In April and May it was causing wrinkles were I never had any before, I had a hard time opening my eyes. I didn't dare cry what a mess that would make, it hurt so badly. By June, it was going down my neck now: It was bright red and the skin was so loose and felt like sand paper and oozing that sticky clear liquid out from under. Try to find a doctor to help you in the middle of a pandemic! I could see changes in my face, after counting about more than 15 layers of skin (if that's what it was) the bridge of my noise was flatter because the front of my nose never got anything on it, now I look like porky pig. My mother was a runway model she was 5'8" blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes. She taught me how to take care of my skin and hair. When you wash your face use warm water to open the pores of your skin use gentle cleanser, then rinse with cool water to close the pores. (Not hot, Not cold that causes tiny red veins.) The same with your hair, start with warm water to open the hair shaft and strains to clean and rinse. When ready to condition your hair open the shaft and strains with warm water and run your fingers through your hair, when ready to rinse use cold water to really close all the strains and help prevent broken ends. As for me! I'm still a mess and it's July, I just celebrated my 72 birthday. Before all this, no one would ever guess I was 72 maybe 52. My mother taught me well. Clairol ruined me completely, I'm so depressed, I've gained so much weight; I can't do anything as soon as I sweat, my poor face begins to pulse sate and feels awful, so no camping this year. The whole family would go camping on the water for a full week. I finally saw my Doctor, he said "this is the worst reaction I've ever seen". Then I made an appointment with a dermatologist. This time I showed her pictures from beginning (face and hair) up to now. She said the same thing, "I've seen some bad reactions but nothing like this". What do you think I should do?..................................
