Very poor customer services

Very poor customer services, many phone calls and many, many emails but no resolution.
I sent a chair back during lockdown, I used their recommended parcel company and through no fault of my own it was a couple of days late.
Now they want me to have the chair back that I don’t like.
Yes, read reviews before ever ordering online.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY.
I ordered a console table and some nest tables from this company. They arrived on a pallet and this was wrapped. When we opened the nest of tables the large one was damaged. All the marble was cracked. We tried to ring the company to find out they are not dealing with anything like this over the phone and to raise a ticket online. You then get an automated response saying it may take up to 2 days to get a response. I have sent photos and they keep coming back asking another question after 2 days so it is just delaying the process. We received an email today asking for further photos of the packaging saying they will need to do a claim back with the delivery company. We then phoned as we were very frustrated. They almost accused us of breaking it and said before they could do anything they would need to do a claim back to the delivery company first and for us to return the damaged item it would cost us!!!! This is absolutely disgusting customer service. Do not order anything from this company.

Avoid! Don't Waste Your Time

Ordered an item that was listed as in stock and received confirmation with estimated delivery. Waited until estimated day but heard and received nothing so emailed and they said they didn't have any of that item in stock and it had been discontinued by the manufacturer. WHY WAS WAS THE ITEM LISTED ON THE WEBSITE AND WHY IS IT STILL NOW!!! Terrible customer service that they just took the money and ignored our order for weeks until we enquired about it and then I had to chase them again to actually get a refund!

Damaged items

Bought nest of tables that arrived damaged (marble corner heavily damaged due to poor packaging) and suggested the damage was minor!!...asked the retailer to recover the damaged goods but gave up. Item was sent back and was delivered 17th Feb but no refund was issued as of yet. Process started to recover monies... All I would say to is BUYER BEWARE if you are buying online, especially if you are NOT in Northern Ireland and delivery charges will be £25++ if you are buying something 20kg or more...I will leave to people to judge retailer's interpretation on "slight scraping" (see google review for pics as, I cannot attach pics here) and there is proof of delivery.

Excellent company to order from

I ordered a paulownia wood and hyacinth basket storage unit and it was very well protected and packaged and the unit arrived in excellent condition, not a mark or dent on it. Communication was excellent from Clanbay; I phoned and asked about stock levels as I was concerned that due to brexit supplies might be affected, they were honest and helpful about the length of time it would take to reach them, and thereafter myself, so I was happy to go ahead and order from Clanbay.

Warning! Do not purchase from this company!

Product I ordered was delivered almost a month later after I reached out to them to get an eta of the order. When I finally received the item, it was not as pictures and there were pieces missing to assemble it. I reached out to customer service regarding this issue, and they were trying to tell me the item was delivered as pictured even after I submitted pictures of what I received. They then instructed me that if I felt the item was not correct to return it. Mind you, this company is in the UK, which means I would have to pay an expensive amount for shipping. I will never purchase a product from this company!

Shocking customer treatment

Clanbay are still withholding my money for the damaged goods they shipped me which were in fact canceled and a refund had been agreed. I am also pursuing legal channels now given refusal to cooperate with the European Consumer Centre engaging on my behalf. Zero acceptance of any fault at their end.

I believe our customer service team have informed you with this and also have provided you with the proof along with a number for you to get in contact with the courier who will be able to answer any questions you may have. Therefore I would really appreciate if you could reconsider your review as this is at no fault of ours, we had the order sent out as we had agreed and to the address you had provided, and we have proof that it was delivered. This unfair to blame us as we have been as accommodating as we possibly can, you will need to take this up with the courier who delivered the order using the contact number which was provided to you from our customer service team.

Avoid at all cost

Please heed the warnings below and avoid this company. They are just a middle man and you can find many of their products on other websites; you might pay a little bit more but that’s for very good reason.

I bought 2 products, both in stock. As soon as I’d paid one became out of stock (...) so I was told I had to wait weeks for both. Neither turned up. This went on for a long time and many emails, in the end they promised to send the one that they had. It never arrived. I was then told the other item had arrived in stock; nothing arrived and the team then stopped responding to all my emails. They removed their phone number from the website so I (and others) couldn’t call to speak to anyone.

At a complete loss I then asked to cancel both my orders - no one responded. They eventually agreed to refund me for the one out of stock but asked me to remove my negative review from Facebook (...), but I didn’t and the money never arrived. They then sent the item initially in stock even though I’d cancelled it; they claimed it was dispatched before I cancelled it, I have it in writing from the courier company that this is not the case...They told me if I refused to accept the delivery they’d deduct 20% off it. It’s now sat in my property and they refuse to have it collected to help me out or refund me. My account now strangely doesn’t work so I can’t apply for a normal return/refund.

Months on I am nearly £1,000 down. Please, please, please do not use this Company. I believe they are acting in clear breach of consumer rights and I will be reporting them as have others on here. It appears on their website they only select the positive reviews to disclose which I think demonstrates again their lack on integrity.

Update - Clanbay have finally refunded me for the item never delivered. They are still however refusing to pick up the cancelled item that they then sent to me (I’d since bought a replacement so no longer want or need it). Again, I understand from the courier company it was dispatched after I cancelled it, and returning it would not only add to months of hassle but likely cost me as it’s a large item to Ireland. I assume this is them trying to get out of having to pay for the courier. Clanbay, have told me there is nothing more that they can do (apparently they can organise a courier company to deliver unwanted goods but not to pick them up...) and are refusing to help me.

Update 2 - they have stopped responding to my emails and this refuse to help me fix their mistake. Attempting to access my account to return item at my expense therefore (...), first it didn’t let me access it, and the order no longer exists under my account so I can’t submit for a refund. Please, please, please be warned about this company - this is not a legitimate way to operate.

Take care

Beware! Beware! I bought a chair that arrived with missing parts. After some wrangling they offered £15 for missing part which I accepted because I was worn out with wrangling. Emails back and forth. One excuse after the other.
Later after a few days(less than a week) the gas lift wouldn't stay on. It kept going down. Also the rubber ring to protect the base was so brittle it was breaking in pieces. I reported this and requested a refund. Their view on it was I shouldn't have used it because that violates the warranty. I don't know how I would have discovered the gas lift is faulty WITHOUT USING IT??? Super power.They even suggested that maybe I didn't assemble properly! But I used it for few days. They didn't have any excuse for the damged rubber protection for the chrome base. Now I am lumbered with with an unusable chair that was only 1 week old!!!
I scraped to buy this chair with my little pension benefit. I'm retired and disabled. The chair was meant to help but I can't use it. I believe I have been fobbed up by Rogue traders who can wriggle out any situation. They seem to be good at this from the reviews I read. Only wish I had seen them earlier.

I am sorry to hear that the gas is not working however this sounds like the cylinder where the gas spring is which pumps the gas through has not been assembled correctly. I would advise that you or who may have helped you build up the chair check this area as it may just not be assembled correctly and could be a simple fix.

I hope this resolves the issue and that you could kindly reconsider your review as we are relying more than ever on our positive reputation to see us through the difficult times we are facing and a negative review can be quite damaging which I am sure is not your intentions.

I have since received my order. The delay was due to address confusion. I am pleased with the product and would order it again.

I will miss my deadline

Very slow. I placed an order in the third week of July. Given the product takes 13 days for delivery, I have timed this within my project deadline at the end of August. I have still not heard anything about my order. Now it is too late to source from another supplier. Please can you tell me what is happening with my order.
