I just want to add my 2 cents to the conversation here about grubby Classmates. For those of us who do not upgrade, Classmates has become a useless no man's land. Luckily, I have my yearbook, but it w... See more

Beware recurring billing!

In regards to recurring billing, I was told by customer service via phone that notification is given at the time billing info is entered and that an e mail is sent, but I never saw anything, so if you sign up, you will be auto billed for the plan you selected, so cancel the account if you do not need it. I find this to be a bad business practice, as it tends to make people angry, but they make a ton off of sheeple who do not pay attention, so they continue to do it. I called the day my plan renewed and was debited, but the 1st line rep could not stop it, so I was told I would receive a call back in 2 days. I sat on hold for 9 minutes for this result! What a waste of time!

Signed up for the free option

Signed up for the free option. They keep sending me emails that people are visiting my page and leaving me notes. They will not give you any info on the visitors until you pay for an upgraded membership. I got more visits than I had friends in high school. Do not expect anything helpful from this site.

Potentially a Great Site

I'm planning my high school class' 35th reunion and a site like classmates.com could be very helpful, but unfortunately it doesn't appear that anyone 'really' uses it.

I designated their emails as spam because the volume of emails they send out to people who register with their site is overwhelming. Thus, I think many of my classmates have done the same which is a shame given that classmates could be a really great site and resource.

I suppose they need to figure out a different business model in order to become more relevant. I hope they do so as I'd love to be able to enjoy what they could potentially offer.
