I had a demo of all the Clearbooks software with Martin, and it was very thorough and informative. As a new business owner I was especially grateful to learn about all the features I would need. I also had assistance from Jamie, who was very knowledgeable and helpful too. The interface of Clearbooks is very user friendly, so I will be looking forward to using it. I definitely recommend investing in Clearbooks over its competitors; the free one to one demo and a point of contact for any future queries is certainly a plus.

The user experience (UX) is quite lacking.

I've been using it for three years, and I consistently struggle to find things or search using the correct criteria. The taxonomy is confusing; it's repeated in various places, each time with different meanings. The overall plan seems like an afterthought rather than a holistic view.

Easy to use, someone available if help is needed.

The software itself does everything I need it to do and more. There have been numerous occasions I have called the support team for help both with errors on my part and learning about Clear Books itself and their expertise have been brilliant. Most of the calls have been answered immediately and those where messages have been left are returned within hours and always on the same day.

Using Sage Accounts for 25 years, I needed to source a more cost effective alternative. I shortlisted 4 providers and selected Clearbooks. I was impressed initially by the reason behind this software being created. Having used Clearbooks for over a year it was an excellent decision. Prompt post sales care who were patient and helpful, plus I find the online help great too. The software is very well priced, simple and effective. I especially like the ease of importing bank statements and applying transactions. Our accountant was initially reticent as had no previous experience with Clearbooks but on using the Accountants access they advised they found the software very simple to navigate. I highly recommend Clearbooks for small businesses.

Generally good, but price is high compared to the functions I use. They push the price up every year with the reasoning they have added many new features and yet for years I'm still using that same set of old features, so I pay more and more and yet get the same!

I'm only a one-man-band but have to use the large package due to vat which doesn't seem fair as I only have a small turn over.

Simple features just seem missing such as bulk deleting draft invoices that can build up. The menu across the top is frustrating as where you mouse pointer moves across it the drop down menus fly all over the place.

The interface can be clunky and I don't find it easy to find things.

Easy to get through to Clear Books customer support. Support desk always very helpful and patient and prompt in actioning of requests.

We are a small company (actually just the 2 of us) we have our own roles and one of mine is submissions. When MTD came into force I had no idea where to turn as very old school previous excel spreadsheets and relied on HMRC direct submissions. Find Clear Books so manageable and easy to link with HMRC, unlike 2 other client's who use their own software but I have to check and submit on their behalf but always a problem!!

Easy access to enter information to produce VAT Returns and year end Accounts.

Great Customer Services - (well were, couldn't comment if recent, thankfully not had to contact since initial set ups as just enter and submit which makes my life easy)

I can't fault Clearbooks. The system is easy to use and nicely laid out.

We had one issue to do with a VAT amount not being able to be split when apply CIS & DRC but this was quickly resolved and we were kept updated by the clearbooks team.

clear and straight forward software to work with

Clearbooks has been a constant companion to my business in the last ten years. I have recently added the payroll function to my subscription and it is so much easier than using HMRC's free but clunky and unstable (on Mac) RTI software. It has taken me some time to get to grips with the functions that I need, (I still don't really understand how it connects with my bank or whether that helps with reconciliations) but in general the support I have received with queries has been good. I am a one-person business owner with limited accountancy/book-keeping knowledge and I find Clearbooks easier to use than the previous software package I had.

Works well for our small business and the customer support is excellent. There are way more features on there than we will ever use but that's fine as it's simple to use the parts we do need. Keep up the good work guys!

Have just started to use Clear Books for my small self-employed business, It is very easy to transfer opening balances and get up and running. The app on my phone means I invoice customers there and then by email and can keep up to date with bank balances (using the direct bank feed), revenue, sales ledger etc. It takes a little while to get used to the interface and navigation, but you soon get on top. The reports are good and you can easily see the 'raw' double entry. Contacted by Martin early on with help to get started, very useful.

Very pleased with Clearbooks. Simple and easy to use for a non-accountant. Would recommend to small businesses that need a simple solution.
