Early days but so far, we are extremely happy with the Clearbooks package. We are impressed with the online support which gives clear “how to do” instructions. The customer service is excellent with extremely quick response times to any queries we may have.
We were looking for a package that has features such as stock, good reporting and multi-currency options. Clearbooks ticks all the boxes.

Customer service is always helpful and gives speedy responses. This particular time I asked if it was possible to add a search function and the development team implemented it in just a few days. Excellent service.

So far, so good. I needed something very simple and clear books are the most suitable option among all the services. I had a demo with Martin, and it was very helpful. All they need to do is work on the app to match the features on the website, and then it will be fully complete :-)

User Friendly accounting software - fantastic technical support over the months I have been using the software. Frustrating however that it currently cannot live link to my Metro bank Account.

So far so good using Clearbooks. They are incredibly quick to help and very patient with their explanations, hence the 5 * review. Our situations is quite complex as we have three income streams. They very patiently helped us by answering questions and coming up with solutions as we set this all up. On customer service and general support I would highly recommend them.

I've yet to be disappointed with the customer service, always a quick turn around on emails. Personally I would prefer a chat function so things can be dealt with in the moment as that can be kind of frustrating but none the less. More could be invested in software development and making it more accessible, their app is very poor which can sometimes make accessing invoices when on the road boring and a little more time consuming but overall very happy for the price point I pay.

I've been using Clearbooks for a while and it's very simple and straightforward... I have no complaints. Whenever I have a query the team are always quick to respond and very helpful hence the 5* review.

I have had a negative experience with Clearbooks and their business practices. While their system is of acceptable quality, their ethos and attitude are frustrating and hindering to growth, especially for small businesses.

I am disappointed by Clearbooks' sudden and unexplained fee increases without any improvements to their system and a decrease in customer service. In March 2023, my fees were raised by an astonishing 42%. This seems not only heartless but also vicious, compared to the UK inflation rate of 12-13%.

To add insult to injury, they now add their branding to my system-generated outbound emails, which they did not do previously. Whenever I have tried to bring up issues with them, they seem unaware and unable to provide a solution.

As a result, I have decided to transition away from Clearbooks and spend time researching new services. This process is time-consuming and frustrating, but necessary to avoid further negative impacts on my business.

RESPONSE TO CLEARBOOK'S REPLY
I did call you, and you confirmed it to be the case. This is another example of businesses putting helpful faces on their negative reviews and pretending to care. They don't. Trust me. They never have.

I paid £14.40 per month. Overnight I now pay £20.40. So you tell me, Clearbooks. You're supposedly the accounting specialists. What percentage increase is that?

Being new to Clearbooks I needed advice on some items. Each time I've made contact with them and more-so recently the help from (Mohamed) they could not be more helpful. Simple responses with no technical jargon. Clear, precise and helpful.

Our first impression with the team at Clear Books was a positive one. As a new business starting out, we felt daunted and did not knew what to expect from them. However, Tom was very helpful, and answered our questions in a proficient manner. His exceptional customer skills, along with his kind and patient persona, made us felt at ease quite quickly.

He was professional in the way he explained Clear Books to us ( but in a simplied way, so that we could understand). If we did not understand something, he would go over it again.

The 1:1 online demo was useful, as well as the free trial as it gave us a better insight of how to maneuver our way around Clear Books software. We also made use of the Help Guides Tom recommended to us. Mind you, it was not easy for us, but we are still learning and educating ourselves as we go along.
We liked the fact that we can contact them, when we are stuck and need help with an issue.
Overall, we felt they are doing an exceptional job!

I wrote a review a few years ago and thought I would follow up with another honest one now.

This is a relatively small business compared to the others mentioned (as is my business compared to many others) - and I'm really pleased to support them with my business. The main reason for this is that their customer service so far has been OUTSTANDING. They reply personally with a solution to a problem (or a work around if required) literally within minutes. On the few occasions I've had to query something, I more often than not hear back from one of two specific support technicians.

OK, so having previously used Xero and Quickbooks, I would accept that the interface of Clearbooks feels a little tired in places (although I really hated Quickbooks!) - too many submenus - but it does work. And the charge is reasonable - no paid for add-ons that should be included (I recall a competitor started to charge for projects and expenses etc.) - it's all there as part of the package.

So, in short, I think they are great and cannot fault them - and I think this is my 5th year with them.

Been using since February (so 2 vat returns now) and it's just worked. (came from QB's desktop). Really easy to use, nothing gone wrong, no need to contact support. Our company is a software company to the health service so it's nice to see something else :) that works so well.

I have been extremely happy with the support I have received from Tommy Chung at Clear Books. Always so happy to help even with my repetitive questions! I really feel that nothing is too much trouble and he is always there with a solution. Would happily recommend Clear Books. Outstanding customer support.

The Clearbooks is the most cost effective package SME's can find to support their business. And to top it Clearbooks has the best support team - thanks for your support so that even a non-accounting person like me can do the books easily !!

I must be the unlucky one having read the positive comments for this company. I opened a free trail account in October 2021. As this is a third party contract, the speed of payment was too slow for me and I could not justify paying the prices they asked for, so I cancelled my account.

This company continued to take money form my account even though I wrote to them mentioning that I have cancelled. I am now waiting for a refund which takes 10 to 14 days. Very slow which is the culture of this company.

I have now signed up with a free accounting software and a payment service that takes a small percentage of all my transactions.

My experience was not a good one with this company and sadly I would not recommend this service to anyone, which is a shame. Too slow and not professional for me.

The best thing about Clearbooks is their support! Outstanding! If you’re starting out and feel you may need help with your accounting then I would definitely recommend Clearbooks. Any email query has been responded to within 10mins and always fully resolved. Many thanks!

We are very happy with Clearbooks - it was the only affordable package we could find that coped with CIS, VAT and Project Accounts. It's easy to use but they have excellent guidance info and a great Help Team.
