Super software, easy to use, well designed screens. Great for accountants and best of all our clients love it.

The bank feed makes bank rec's very straightforward and matching bank transactions with the purchase ledger very easy.

Creating invoices using the many templates makes them look very professional.

Would like to see better integration with Dext to auto import safe supplier invoices would make life a little easier.

The VAT section is the best there is with all transactions shown on the vat report making audits so easy.

Like the popular reports as they are very clear and useful. There are other more detailed reports are good but i would like to see an nominal account search to see the transactions.

I would like to see the mangement report improved as it is difficult to get the output you want. monthly breakdowns do not have a totals column which needs looking at.

All in all its the best small business accounting software and much more friendly then the big names.

Clear Books does what it says in its name.
It gives you a clear set of bookkeeping and accounting tools. No fuss no complicated Apps. It allows you run reports of the time periods that are relevant to the business. You can down drill to find out what transaction make up the amounts on your reports.

Seriously the best software I’ve used.
I’m not a professional accountant or bookkeeper, I just needed software that I could use for my small business. I’ve tried the big names but as far as I’m concerned this is the best and well worth the money

This software hasn't kept pace with the market. I am a small shareholder and was very loyal to it initially, but it's difficult to run full accounts due to clunky processing, adjustments to vat returns are difficult and it slows things down.
When previously attending AGMs we were always given big promises on what the system was going to be able to do, it didn't fulfil it's potential. I have 180 clients in my portfolio and only 2 still use this.
I feel very sad about this given it was a system I believed in and invested my own money in, but it just hasn't had the investment and it's not up to scratch now.

Clearbooks is simple to use, full-featured, reliable and well priced. The support team are accessible and knowledgeable. I've used the software for over 10 years and it makes for very easy reporting.

I have been using this software for many years now and I find it very user friendly. The support you get when you need to do something new is very good too. i would recommend it to any professional that does not want to wast time with the accounts.

I recently opened an account with Clear Books for my new company and am impressed with Clear Books’ onboarding experience. I had a representative take me through an online tutorial, and he also made himself available by phone or email to answer any queries, which I have made use of a couple of times. In this era where so many companies are scaling back customer service, I am impressed with the levels of personal support offered by Clear Books.

Easy system helpful people at end of phone who are patient and sympathetic. Simple to phone and get through to a human who will expertly guide you and help you set up things to meet your needs.
Opposite of trying to deal with a Government Agency! That is meant as a compliment.

As a person that is new to accountancy software, I have to give particular credit to how supportive team are. They have really helped me understand the system in detail and all took time to understand my business and how the system can be best utilised for it. The system itself is easy to use once you get the hang of it, so I really like the auto bills element and the fact you can have a bank feed. Really has made my job so much easier! Follow up calls from the team have been well received too and not intrusive. Thanks guys!

I deceied to end my Clear Books subscription as I found the package difficult to use as a small business owner. I also did not like the fact that they never send receipts for subscription payments.
I closed my account, and even though my subscription payment was still in force my account details were immediately wiped and I had no access to my existing data to enact a backup and retrieve existing data.
The day after I closed my account they took another payment from my bank for a further months subscription even though they have wiped my data, and also have provided no receipt for it - since my account is now gone I cannot access a receipt for it online. Leaving me with a gap to explain in my records.
I would never recommened Clear Books to a business colleague and suggest to anyone thinking of leaving that you export all of your data well in advance of clicking that "close my account" button.

I have used Clearbooks for coming up 5 years and the team have always been incredibly supportive. I began using the bookkeeping software as a new contract worker with no prior knowledge of how to do so, and after an initial call with their team was able to start bookkeeping myself. I have found it much more intuitive and easy to use than comparable bookkeeping tools I tried. Whenever I have an issue (ie, am confused about how to do something), their support team are prompt, helpful and friendly. Would recommend to a friend.

It's not for normal small businesspeople. It's a bait and switch to get you to hire their 'partner accountants'. You're essentially paying for a big online spreadsheet for you to enter all of your financial details. When it comes time to doing bookkeeping stuff, if you're not a trained accountant or experienced bookkeeper you'll still need to hire an accountant to do your books. I don't see what value this Clearbooks adds other than an online spreadsheet which you can set up yourself. As a very small business, every time I've asked them about simple reports and regulatory submissions, I'm told they don't do that. So I'm essentially paying Clearbooks for....I don't know what. I'm just going to have to hire an accountant anyway so I why bother paying for Clearbooks? If you are a small business owner with zero bookkeeping skills, then keep looking as this service is unlikely for you either. Or, just hire an accountant and don't waste your time with this.
