Strike One... Strike Two...
Clear Choice Automotive in Oregon sold me a Subaru with an undisclosed accident, and a clearly cracked and welded rim. The police had to inform me about how badly I got scammed by the pushy salesperson that was pretending he didn't know about the undisclosed accident, or that welded and cracked rims were illegal.
3 years later, because the dealer refused to give me my money back, I'm rebuilding the engine, because the car broke down. Now I find damage from another undisclosed front-end impact. The crash damaged the radiator, and the radiator damaged the engine.
I've asked for my money back again, and I will be reporting this scam and the 2nd hidden accident to the police, but it doesn't do much good. Portland police protect scam business, and do what they can to help criminals, so you really have to watch out for scam car dealerships. Like, you are on your own.
The State Attorney General, and lawsuits are the way to go. The police just say, "This is clearly an intentional crime, for which the is an abundance of evidence. So... What do you expect the Portland Police to do about it?"
