I phoned Thursday morning

I phoned Thursday morning, 11th June to the Worthing branch and spoke to SALLY...She was busy I could tell from the phones ringing BUT she was helpful (the understatement of the year) and pleasant about a request for a new walker for a 94 year old relative,

She looked up what he had before and even though it was not available in the Worthing branch she found the nearest was in Brighton

She organised a delivery for me at around 4.pm and phoned to say it had arrived and that HOWARD had gone out of his way to deliver it
I collected it in the afternoon

All I can say is that it was all so easy with them to find the walker and if all businesses had such employees this country would be a world beater

I hope this is passed on to both of them

The staff at the Worthing showroom were…

The staff at the Worthing showroom were amazing. I can't remember enjoying such a shopping trip with my husband before! Sharon and Paula served us and guided us to the most suitable vehicle leisurely with no pressure. Sally had answered the phone and was very friendly and encouraging. The fourth member of the team delayed going home to help us get our vehicle in our car. Thanks to you all!

Appalling Customer Service

My elderly parents riser/recliner chair stopped working 5 weeks ago due to motor failure, since then the level of customer support is appalling.

They have taken our repair money and still not been able to fit the new motor, causing distress and discomfort.

We will never use Clearwell Mobility again, having experienced rude staff and disappointing service.

We were asked to go and look at an old Celebrity riser recliner chair by a Mrs Freeman on behalf of her mother. This chair wasn’t supplied by Clearwell Mobility and was in excess of 5 years old. When our engineer visited on 20 Jan he found that the mountings on the motor had broken following the chair being moved by the customer.

We requested the parts information from Celebrity and were told via email the part number. We in turn quoted Mrs Freeman on 27 Jan 20 and she gave us the go ahead and we placed the order with Celebrity. However, after placing the order, Celebrity advised us that the part had been discontinued and that they could no longer supply it.

Before going back to the customer, we enquired with another manufacturer, Sherborne, who use similar motors to see if they could supply. They confirmed they could supply an alternative motor which we ordered and then arranged to visit the customer to fit on 18 Feb. Unfortunately, the alternative motor would not fit without an additional cable. At this stage, the customer felt that our service was not meeting her expectations and left the above review.

We have apologised unreservedly to Mrs Freeman for any distress caused and we have refunded all the money paid by the customer including the initial call out charge. We did our best to assist with an older chair but we were badly let down by the supplier who quoted a part number but failed to tell us of its discontinuation. We feel that the frustration expressed in this review would be better directed at the manufacturer, Celebrity.

Purchase of buggy

I purchased a new mobility buggy yesterday at Worthing branch. Although short staffed because of illness I cannot praise Sally high enough for the service I received. Nothing was too much trouble, very helpful and friendly. I thoroughly recommend her and the other member of staff.

Friendly and knowledgeable advice

We haven't yet purchased the riser recliner chairs we're shopping for, but Wendy and Joan gave us advice on them at the Tunbridge Wells branch. They were very knowledgeable, friendly (and patient!) :-)

I'll update this review if we make our purchase from Clearwell.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!
I would give no stars if I could
I bought an electric wheelchair for my daughter which at the time I was told was new
The Day after we purchased it it broken down
Went into the shop to explain they said they would send an engineer.
2 weeks later no engineer no phone call nothing
So yet again I went back and asked when the engineer was coming he turned up 12 days later he couldnt fix the chair so offered me a replacement until they could get parts
Said my temporary replacement would be here on monday this was the thursday
Monday came suprise still no chair
Still waiting so week later went back in the shop told I would get parts next week
Asked where was replacement chair was apparently they had nothing suitable
Waited another 10 days still nothing so went back to shop again to be told they couldnt get the part
No phone call or nothing to tell me this
So had to go all way home a 30 min drive to get chair when we turned up at the shop they asked us to leave the chair with them and they would transfer the money by transfer. We did not trust them we wanted our money back in cash as we paid in cash or directly into my bank account at that moment they refused both
At no point was we abusive or threatening we were just firm and wanted what was rightfully ours
They stated they only had the cash at their Staines branch so another 40 min drive
When arrived at their shop in Staines I was told to remove my review or I wasn't getting a refund I explained that was blackmail the lady there was nice enough and explained she was only giving me the message she was told to give
Luckily there is a police station right opposite
It was only when police arrived I was finally given a refund
Amazing how They did everything to avoid giving a refund and let my 11 year old disabled daughter go without a chair for 2 months and not even one phone call off them in nearly 2 months of all this going on
phoning them myself was pointless I never received a call back
Funny before we purchased the chair which I thought was new as we were told that at the time they were very nice very helpful that's until you have a problem then they don't want to know
I will advise to stay well clear of this company if purchasing a wheelchair or any other equipment
Also if you do go in the shop check the prices as one time when I was on there they overcharged an old man 26 pounds good job he realised and was then given the right quote i should of realised then what type of company this was from that alone
This company is vile and take advantage of the old and disabled
AVOID and go elsewhere
I have recently bought one from ukmobility and couldn't be happier with my purchase

We feel this is a totally unjustified review which is also misleading.

The customer purchased a second hand Invacare Alber Esprit powerchair from us on 6 Sep 2019 for £950. The customer reported an issue which affected the attendant control on the powerchair. We sent our engineer and he diagnosed that a replacement attendant control was required.

When we contacted Invacare the part needed was no longer available. We advised the customer on 4 October and in the circumstances offered the customer a full refund. When the customer returned the chair to our Woking showroom he demanded the refund in cash. Unfortunately, the till float was not enough to be able to process a refund by cash.

The customer was offered a cheque or bank transfer but this wasn’t acceptable to the customer and he then became abusive and accused staff or trying to rip him off. Our deputy showroom manager was reduced to tears because the customer became so threatening. Our Staines showroom had sufficient cash in their float and the customer took the product back to that showroom and received a full refund.

Whilst we understand the customers frustration with the product and the issues they had, the availability of parts is outside of our control and we as company did the right thing to offer a full refund. Expecting such a large refund in cash is not reasonable and most retailers do not carry large cash floats for obvious reasons. In the circumstances, there was no need for the customer’s abusive behaviour towards our staff.

An excellent experience

I am delighted with the service and advice that I received, when I recently purchased a Welford Riser Recline, from Edwina at your Hove Clearwell Mobility branch.
Having now received the the chair I am delighted with it, and was very pleased with the communication prior to the delivery and the way the delivery man set up the chair for use.
Altogether an excellent experience, thank you.

Brilliant

Brilliant. I can't thank Sally and her staff enough. Their advice and help was invaluable, and Sally and her husband went out of their way to deliver the rise and recline chair personally on the day of purchase. It has made such a difference for my husband.

Rise and Recline chair

I ordered a rise and recline chair today from your Worthing branch and was served by Sally, she was very knowledgeable on the product and went over everything with me to make sure I was buying what I needed. She comes across as a very happy person and nothing was too much bother for her, a pleasure to do business with.

WONDERFUL ADVICE AND SERVICE
The lovely team at Burgess Hill listened carefully, and gave lots of practical advice about products and how to present things to my elderly mother. We had the items sent to Scotland and by the end of the weekend my mothers confidence and independence was restored.Can't thank them enough

The reviewer contacted Clearwell Mobility on 3 November 2017 reporting a problem with the batteries they had purchased from our Hove shop. The reviewer purchased two 22 Ah batteries on 3 January 2017 and at the time of the reviewer's initial contact, the batteries were covered by our 1 year guarantee. The reviewer explained that the range of their powerchair had reduced recently and that the reviewer felt there was probably a problem with the batteries. As the reviewer purchased the batteries from the shop and fitted them personally, we asked the reviewer to return the batteries to the shop for testing and we would provide the reviewer with free of charge ‘loan’ batteries to keep them mobile. The reviewer explained that they weren't able to return the batteries to the store and therefore we agreed to send an engineer free of charge to the reviewers’s home and at that visit on 9 December 2017 we replaced both batteries with brand new batteries.

Our understanding at that visit was that the reviewer was happy with our response and the outcome. However, despite trying to contact the reviewer on several occasions, we are unable to elicit any further reasons for the reviewer leaving a rating of our service as 2 star. I would encourage the reviewer to contact our customer support team immediately, if there are any further issues which we need to address. We are ready to help in any way we can.
