Terrible experience
We had to get a Court Order to get our kitchen completed. Counter top not to the right size and excuse after excuse and a string of false promises on getting it fixed. Court Order had the desired effect and after sitting on our money for over one-year the counter top is now the right size and we don't have to sit sideways whilst eating. Despite this, the kitchen is well made and we're happy with the product, just not the service.
Highly recommended!
Highly recommended! Extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Couldn’t fault their service and were very professional and accommodating from initial enquiry, right through to delivery. Will certainly be using again
Little Greene Test Pot – Excellent Service
Popped into their showroom to buy a Little Greene test pot after finding them on the dealer locater. Annoyingly they didn’t have the test pot in stock but said they did in their other showroom. The gentleman in the showroom was super helpful and offered to personally drop the test pot off at my house later that evening! Amazing service I will be back to buy the rest of the paint. Thank you, Cloisters.
Beautiful kitchens built with care
We love our kitchen, it's definitely become the heart and pride of our home and everyone that sees it is left amazed. We engaged Cloisters early in the design process of our new extension and were immediately drawn to Joe's keen attention to details and firm understanding of our vision. He gave us great advice that we were able to incorporate in to the build.
During the build the sincerity and determination to maintain high standards in all areas was clearly visible and in some moments frustrating... Though understandable.
We worked on our kitchen just after covid / Brexit and while things took longer than we'd hoped in coming together and the bespoke kitchen journey inevitably requires patience, we absolutely love the end result. Highly recommended Cloisters if you are in the market for a handmade bespoke kitchen built with care and without compromise of quality.
Worst Customer Experience I've Had
We ordered a kitchen through Kitchens123 (a part of Cloisters) and the experience was appalling. Quite easily the worst customer experience I've ever had.
I won't walk through the project and the multiple failings but I'll stick to the main points.
Communications was practically non-existent after we paid the invoice (100% upfront, of course). Calls would go to answer machine, I'd leave messages that were not returned. Emails would go unanswered. Text messages were ignored. They would ignore me for months at a time.
Lies. When I did make contact I was lied to time and time again. Lied to about dates for delivery, site visits when people just wouldn't show up, stock that was apparently sat right in front of them would suddenly vanish and wouldn't be available for weeks. Promises of install dates which would never actually happen. Right now, if I they told me the sky was blue - I'd look up and check. They have a complete aversion to the truth.
The contract wasn't fulfilled. 13 months after payment and just shy of the 1 year anniversary of installation starting I finally accepted what I should have realised a long time ago - they had no intention of finishing my kitchen. I was lucky, I paid for a good portion on credit card and so was able to put in a Section 75 claim. After submitting my evidence, the card company paid my claim in full.
If you've read this and still decide to use Cloisters / Kitchens123 then I wish you lots of luck, you're going to need it. But please, please pay on credit card (even if you don't need to) and remember the Section 75 claim. You may very well need it.
Nine Years of Service
We had a new kitchen fitted in 2013 that was designed and supplied by Cloisters. Value and service levels were excellent at that time and we have had no cause in the last 9 years to talk to them again as there have been no problems at all with any elements of the kitchen. This year we reorganised our space next to the kitchen and approached Cloisters to see if some of the existing units could be extended to fit the new space. This was a relatively small job but the engagement and support we received was everything you could wish for as an old customer, even though so much time had passed. We now have a perfectly extended space, looking as though it was always this way. This is not only great credit to Cloisters as an extra job but it underlines how good the original job was in that it still looks as new as it did in 2013. We would (and obviously just have) use Cloisters again without any reservations.
We are so pleased with our new kitchen!
We are so pleased with our new kitchen and utility room from Cloisters!
Having visited a fair amount of other ‘big band’ retailers none of them were able to come up with the design we quite wanted. The furniture range we went for was bespoke so Joe was able to design the space exactly how we wanted it.
We went for a modern flat design and was surprised that we were able to do what we wanted well within budget – we were nervous at first that going for something bespoke was going to be too expensive. They also supplied us with worktops and appliances.
We used our builder to install the kitchen as we are too far away from where Cloisters are based but Joe was always on hand to help with any fitting questions.
Thank you very much to Joe and his team.
AVOID, AVOID, AVOID
I ORIGINALLY PLACED AN ORDER IN GOOD FAITH WITH CLOISTERS AS I LIKE TO SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES WHEREVER POSSIBLE, BUT HAD TO CANCEL THE ORDER SEVERAL WEEKS LATER AS THEY WERE UNABLE TO DELIVER THE PRODUCT. THIS SHOULD HAVE RESULTED IN A SIMPLE AND QUICK REFUND, AS ORIGINALLY AGREED WITH CLOISTERS, BUT MANY WEEKS LATER THIS COMPANY STILL OWES ME OVER £2,000. AFTER READING OTHER CUSTOMER REVIEWS (SADLY TOO LATE), IT APPEARS THAT MY EXPERIENCE OF CLOISTERS ISN'T UNIQUE AND THEY HAVE A REPUTATION FOR THIS.
TRUE TO FORM CLOISTERS NOW COMPLETELY REFUSE TO ENGAGE AND, PREDICTABLY, NO SIGN OF THE REFUND THAT I AM LEGALLY ENTITLED TO. I WILL GET MY MONEY BACK ONE WAY OR ANOTHER, BUT I FELT COMPELLED TO WARN OTHERS TO AVOID USING THIS COMPANY AS THERE ARE MANY OTHER REPUTABLE COMPANIES OUT THERE.
IF ANYONE FROM CLOISTERS TAKES NOTICE OF REVIEWS, PERHAPS THEY WOULD BE COURTEOUS ENOUGH TO RESPOND AND ACTION MY REFUND - BAD REVIEWS SUCH AS THIS CANNOT BE GOOD FOR BUSINESS....
Amazing Kitchen
We are so so pleased with our kitchen from Cloisters.
Joe Nunn's design really stood out from the other kitchen companies we had visited previously. He listened to what we wanted (including our budget) but also brought his own ideas and experience in. A lot of thought had gone into the design and Joe was happy to spend time with us trying out a few different ideas until it was perfect. This was the first time we had felt really excited about a design and after seeing it there was no question of us going with anything else.
After that Joe spent a lot of time with us over a number of visits to their two showrooms to help us sort out the final details. The showrooms were very useful for inspiration and Joe was great at navigating us through the many different options for finishes, interiors, appliances etc.
The great thing about their kitchens is that they are bespoke so Joe was able to adapt it exactly to our room size and it feels like there are no compromises or wasted spaces. For example when we found out our coffee machine would be too big to fit into the hide-and-slide cupboard as we had planned, Joe was able to tweak the cupboard dimensions to give us the extra space.
The finished kitchen is every bit as good as we had hoped. It looks amazing and works so well - Joe's attention to detail has really paid off and we feel like we have ended up with something really special.
Thank you Joe and the Cloisters team.
Absolutely over the moon…
Absolutely over the moon with our new kitchen from Cloisters. Our neighbour recommended them and after seeing what they had done there we knew we wanted to go with them. A big thank you to Joe, Alex and the rest of the team.
Awful Experience - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
Do not use this company. The Worst experience ever. They are rude, dishonest, and unfair. Kept over £800 of my money for over 2 years, and refused to pay it back. incredibly rude. i had to visit in person 3 times to finally get my money back. They swore at me, laughed in my face, and told me if i kept showing up they wouldnt ever pay me back, and to try suing them. Please dont even consider using them.
PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY IN ANY…
PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY IN ANY WAY.This company has absolutely no morals.
I had poor service from the first point of contact with little to no communication on all medias.
Unfortunately I was stupid enough to pay a deposit to try to goad them into action .Still poor response time so I cancelled my order. No final plans and no idea of timing for a site meeting etc etc. Little work in design was carried out .
They insist on retaining my deposit.
For an OAP it is a considerable amount..
Excellent
Over the moon with our beautiful new kitchen. From planning to finish Alex was so helpful and knowledgeable, he took time to design our kitchen around our family needs, nothing was too much trouble. We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Cloisters to our family and friends.
cloisters design
Our Architect recommended Cloisters Design to us and we are so glad they did. We found them friendly and professional.
Joe Nunn helped us with the design of our kitchen with lots of ideas and useful tips to get the best out of the space we have.
We decided to go for a bespoke kitchen as it did not work out any more expensive than an “off the shelf” one. This was fantastic as it meant we could choose exactly what we wanted in terms of design and colour for the units.
We are so happy with the finished product, the quality and design. It has made a such a difference to the way we use the space.
Beautiful new kitchen
We met with a number of kitchen designers from budget to high end at the beginning of our search, but didn’t really find one who met all our needs until we found Cloisters. Joe did a spectacular job listening to our ideas and translating them onto the page. He’s knowledgeable about CAD drawings, styles and fittings, and even spoke directly with our plumber to make sure the pipework was done correctly. He was able to suggest ideas that we hadn’t considered, but we never felt pressured into buying expensive additions. The team that installed the kitchen were efficient and polite, and we are thrilled with the result. The experience was so positive that we asked Joe to build a TV unit and wardrobes in our house as well. It did take longer than expected, which was a major downside, but with covid and shortages, we knew that this might be a possibility. Overall, we just want to thank Cloisters for a gorgeous new kitchen.
Great company to work with
Joe was very efficient from our first contact and always easy to get hold of. Joe’s drawings gave a clear picture of how everything would look and how best to use the space. I had a set idea of what I wanted for the kitchen but I have actually ended up with something completely different having seen what Cloisters had to offer. We have fitted everything in that we needed without compromising on the look. Joe was able to show me lots of ideas that I hadn’t thought of well within our budget. The pricing info was clear and there were no hidden costs. We have ended up with a lovely bright airy kitchen. A really lovely family company to work with.
Very good experience
Very good experience. Joe was able to find a discontinued replacement item for us, which was amazing. Professional and easy to deal with. The fitting was spot on as well.
I am very pleased with my new kitchen
I am very pleased with my new kitchen, supplied and fitted by Cloisters. We received helpful advice on the design and appliances. The units were handmade, to give us the best configuration for the space, in their newest design. We now have a light, airy, modern kitchen that’s a pleasure to spend time in.
***** Recommend cloisters if you want a high end bespoke beautiful furniture
We first visited cloisters back in 2020 , as we had recently purchased a new property that was being completely renovated , we initially had a kitchen in mind and the design we wanted as we was in (Covid time rules) we had to have a few zoom calls where joe was able to discuss and show us his revised design and ideas which we was very pleased with and how down to detail he had done with some things I would of missed myself . Then we was invited to visit 2 of there show rooms which also had all of the paint colours, fabrics , and a range of beautiful bespoke kitchens that was all finished to a very high quality . We then knew cloisters was the company we wanted to go ahead with . From then on we also decided we wanted cloisters to do our whole house including the Utility room , the lounge book shelf’s , fireplace , shoeracks, all bedroom furniture including bedside tables. Joe worked very closely with us as a family the whole way through and any questions or changes he always made sure we was happy he also would come and visit the project often to see the progress. The furniture fitter James was also so amazing at his work and all his finishing touches, he would be in our home every morning and always made us fill comfortable to be around pleasure to work with . Then towards the end of the project we had every thing hand painted again brilliant work done by the painter and also a lovely man who was lovely to be around . I think it means a lot when you have people working in your family home especially as we had a new born baby so I was home most days and never felt uncomfortable. Overall I would 100% recommend cloisters designs if you are looking for beautiful high end bespoke furniture . Thank you personally to Joe for being wonderful to work with for the last year we are so happy with our finished result
Wonderful New Kitchen
If you are thinking of installing a new kitchen then this involves a significant amount of thought. Our old kitchen was in dire need of replacement being 25 years old. The only item in the kitchen that I really wanted, and knew would potentially cause a problem, was a pantry cupboard, designed originally by my Dad. He had had one built into his kitchen in New Zealand and it works fabulously. I wanted one. However, this proved to be an impossible request everywhere I searched. I travelled down the DIY Kitchen route and made a visit up north to see their showroom, spent time at IKEA, Wren, private kitchen/bathroom designer, Wickes and Magnet. I was getting to the stage of thinking I would have to forgo my pantry cupboard. But then I heard of Cloisters and went to see Colin and Danielle. No problem came the reply. A pantry cupboard you shall have. What was not to love?! So, several visits later to chat with Danielle and I had a fantastic kitchen design complete with pantry cupboard. This cupboard opens at bench level with double bifold doors revealing a countertop (same as the rest of my countertops) on which sits my Kenwood mixer, food processor, sandwich maker and the Soda Stream. At a suitable height above these appliances the shelves begin and reach to the top of the cupboard. The storage is amazing. All the ingredients at your fingertips. Canned and dry goods stored higher up. It works so beautifully and I love it. Every kitchen should have one. Huge thanks to Cloisters who were the only people prepared to make this cupboard for me.
The installation was done completely to my satisfaction and the whole space now looks amazing. They were quite prepared to accommodate any alterations. Yes, I decided my drawer bins were just not big enough and so a bigger version was duly ordered and installed and the island counter adjusted accordingly. We were very lucky to get the installation completed just before lockdown. I love the huge storage cupboard with pull out shelves/baskets, the drawers under the main countertop and in the island are so wonderful. The corner unit has two doors which open independently to access all of the available space in those tricky corners.
So, I would highly recommend Cloisters to my friends and indeed have done so. Their prices are very competitive with all the major kitchen providers. I am just in the process of ordering another storage cabinet on wheels to match the kitchen furniture. Thank you Cloisters.
