Terrible service. They do not listen to anything we say. They hang on to buzz words instead of actually following the information we’re providing. Claims they approved part of my complaint but missed out the part where I paid for the repair also so I’m supposed to be grateful? We provided tons of evidence at their request several times (baring a letter of omission and a notorized stamp of approval) this is not over. They care nothing for the consumer, but defend the scammer. They are perfectly happy to take our money but when we have a genuine problem it falls on deaf ears. They ignore the facts and wonder why you get so frustrated! It’s taken nearly 3 months for a final outcome. Terrible experience, all I can say to everyone else is beware. Run for the hills and do not trust this company.

Again, close brothers not contacting me. I was meant to get a call last Wednesday from my case handler and I have still not heard anything from him. I am ringing nearly everyday now and it’s the exact outcome everyone, my case handler is available. No call, email nothing. It’s take less 2 minutes to send email but all I am getting is silence from you’s. My car has been gone since February. I am still without a car so have no means of transport at the moment now and when I mention this no one cares. I have rang today and the latest excuse on why my case handler “LINDO” can’t ring me is becuse he is having technical issues. I asked for email today for update and I have gotten nothing. I asked my case to be referred to management because I feel nothing is being and still I have heard nothing.
I have even sent 2 emails today and got nothing back from either of these.
Do close brother even care about their customers? In my opinion you’s do not. Absolute worst experience I have ever had. I will never use your service again after this.
Your complaints department needs a supervisory review as the way there treat the customers is horrendous.
Do not use close brothers motor finance.

My experience with this company has been extremely frustrating, particularly when attempting to make early repayments on my agreement. While everything seems fine if you simply follow the standard payment schedule, the process becomes unnecessarily difficult if you try to settle early or reduce interest costs.
Firstly, whenever contacting customer service, I consistently experienced very long waiting times before speaking to someone. On several occasions, once connected, staff questioned me in an unnecessarily confrontational manner, asking why I had transferred additional money into the account.
A recurring issue involved delays regarding payments “clearing.” I was repeatedly told that transferred funds had not yet cleared and that this process could take three days or longer, despite the payments being sent instantly through normal UK banking systems.
When I explained that I wanted additional payments to go towards an early settlement and reduce the interest owed, I was told this was not possible. Instead, I was informed they could apply the money only by keeping the same number of months on the agreement, rather than reducing the term while keeping my monthly payment the same — which was specifically what I requested. This request was refused, leaving me with no option except partial repayments that only adjusted future monthly payments.
A member of staff then advised me that it would be “better” to make payments directly over the phone rather than by bank transfer, as they could supposedly apply the payment immediately without waiting for funds to clear.
However, when I followed this advice, I was suddenly told that in order to verify my remaining balance, I needed to pay an additional £25 fee. After refusing, there were several exchanges before the staff member eventually provided the balance anyway. I was then told not to make payment at that time because of the Easter bank holiday period, but that I should call back afterwards and the payment would be accepted.
When I called back exactly as instructed, I was simply told they could not process the payment and the call was abruptly ended.
After this, I began making additional repayments of approximately £500 per week. To avoid spending 30+ minutes on the phone every single time, I clearly explained that I wanted all future additional payments to automatically be applied toward reducing the agreement balance whenever I transferred money.
I was told they would make a note on the account to allow this.
Nothing changed.
After emailing to follow up, I was then informed that although they had attempted to make a note, “their systems would not allow it,” and I was once again instructed to call each time before making additional payments instead of using bank transfers.
Another issue is that they do not accept credit card payments. I currently have sufficient available credit on a 15-month interest-free card that would allow me to clear the entire agreement immediately. When I asked why I could not use this option, I was told their policy is that they “do not allow customers to pay debt with debt.”
Overall, the experience has given me the strong impression that while standard payments are straightforward, the company has multiple barriers and unnecessary obstacles in place that make early repayment unnecessarily difficult for customers attempting to reduce interest and settle agreements sooner.

Just used Close Brothers to buy a motorbike. The process from start to finish was excellent. They kept me informed of the process & I had no issues. They asked for an id check so I used my driving licence picture card but it didn't go through. I switched to my passport & all worked well. Just waiting for my insurance pack to arrive by post. Happy dude!

Extremely disappointing with Close Brothers.
We have been trying to resolve serious issues with our finance agreement since 3 June and have received no response whatsoever.
Throughout the purchase process, we repeatedly requested a 30-month finance agreement. We were assured several times that the term could easily be amended after delivery of the vehicle. Once the agreement was in place, this turned out not to be the case, leaving us feeling misled.
There were also several discrepancies in the figures provided to us:
* We were initially told that the deposit would be £1,000.
* This was later changed to £1,234, which we paid.
* The finance agreement then showed a deposit of only £485.
We have spent weeks attempting to obtain clarification and a resolution but have been met with silence. The lack of communication since 3 June has only added to our frustration and concern.
Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this company. Customers should carefully review all paperwork and financial figures before signing and ensure that any promises made verbally are confirmed in writing.

Definitely the worst company to get finance with! I went to cancel my insurance with them due to finding better providers on 22/04 however I found them extremely difficult to work with. When I tried to cancel on the I went through at least 6/7 people to close my account however none of them were able to help and kept sending me to different people. This in itself took 5 hours with me constantly making the same point again and again. Not only that but all their customer service agents are extremely rude and have THE WORST customer service attitude with one of them hanging up my call. I ended up being able to cancel my policy with the insurance company on the same day because this company is extremely difficult to deal with. Even after cancelling my policy I still was given harassing letters with the last one being on 26/05 regarding missed payments despite the policy being cancelled with my insurance company. This resulted in the default payment which is now on my records and has affect my credit score. I THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM DO NOT GO WITH THEM AT ALL COSTS! I can’t believe a company like this is still up and running and I will definitely be suing them.
