We booked a coach through Coach Scanner…

We booked a coach through Coach Scanner to go to the races, we paid our deposit and got a receipt to confirm Goldenhawk Travel would be our operator. Initially we wanted a 20 seater but increased it to a 22 seater but had to pay £25 more. On the day a white vehicle turned up and the driver confirmed he had been asked to do the job by Goldenhawk Travel, so not the company we had booked with. It was only a 20 seater and the driver converted it to a 22 by squashing 2 temporary seats at the back with very little leg room. The guy in all fairness was brilliant and was on time both taking us and bringing us back but to say we felt cheated was an understatement. When I complained Coach Scanner informed me that Goldenhawk Travel would give us £23 compensation, Coach Scanner refused to give us anything despite our arrangement being with them. They were also unreliable returning phone calls and left me having to make all the running. Not a good experience and for Coach Scanner to put all the blame on Goldenhawk I thought was cheap with no regard for the customer, I would certainly think twice about using them again.

Do not use!!

Do not use!!! I would never use CoachScanner again! On 17 May 2018 I booked 2x 50 seater coaches through CoachScanner for a 8:30am pick up on 12 July 2018 from West Hampstead to Berkhamsted for our team offsite event. Throughout my conversations with CoachScanner prior the date, I mentioned on several occasions, that my worst nightmare would be all 100 of us being at the pickup point in West Hampstead for 8.30am, but no coaches!
On Friday 6 July was one of those occasions, when I inquired whether they could possibly give me the name of our designated bus driver, as well as his mobile number. I was told not to worry and that one or two days prior the coach company would in fact email me said details. On the morning of 11 July (a day prior to our offsite), when I still had not heard from the coach company in regards to the drivers details, I again called CoachScanner, who again told me not to worry. After insisting that I really would like to have those details, they gave me the name and number of their contact person at the coach company that they had subcontracted for our trip. When I called them, they told me that all was well with our pick up at 20:30!!! I told them that 20:30 was a mistake, as I had an agreed contract stating clearly 8:30! I called CoachScanners, who tried to sort out this mess. One of their first questions to me was, ‘Can you reschedule your offsite meeting?’ What a question to asked… no, of course I cannot reschedule a team offsite for 100 people planned months and months in advance and contracts with a venue signed for the 12th July!
Further, less than 24 hours before departure it was impossible to find an alternative coach. Instead of relying on CoachScanner, I contacted Addison Lee, who could provide sufficient people carriers to take all of us to our team offsite on the day. When CoachScanner told me in the afternoon of 11 July that they could not provide an alternative coach, I asked if they would refund us the cost of the Addison Lee people carriers of £947.30 + VAT to which they agreed verbally. Following this conversation I had to jump on the phone to Addison Lee to get those 10x people carriers booked in on time.
3 months on and what seems zillions of calls and email conversations, included pre-action letter from legal team later and CoachScanner have still not reimbursed the agreed amount!
Lesson learnt – do not use CoachScanner again!

DO NOT USE!

We initially contacted Coach Scanner in regards to hiring a luxury minibus (leather seats, tables & glass roof) to transport staff from North to South England. Having been sent the attached photos illustrating it’s luxury and being told 100% this would be the transport that turns up, we were happy to proceed with the booking.

Sadly, in reality when the minibus turned up it was a rundown and far from clean, nothing like what we had been sold. We were very disappointed and embarrassed as our colleagues had been sent the photos of the minibus promised and unfortunately had to endure the opposite for 6 hours.

I was appalled this had happened and took photos of the minibus which I sent to Coach Scanner for explanation.

Almost 11 weeks later I'm still waiting for the complaint to be resolved having received very little in terms of a response. I have emailed and phoned a number of times, however they appear to have completely disregarded my complaint. The customer service has been appalling and I am therefore taking measures to persuade others not to experience this.

Coach Scanner claim to pride themselves on offering great prices without compromising on quality, however this is not true and we have seen this first hand.
