We booked a week and left after three nights. For us the cottage was too remote. The very narrow lane to the dead end was a concern for us. We had a normal size car and had to move the wing mirrors in to get down the lane. The view to the sea was nice but it’s only a small window of a view. Lots of trees surrounded the garden. It felt a bit enclosed. The footpath to the sea was easy to walk down but we were attacked repeatedly by horse flies. So this was not a pleasurable walk. There was also lots of horse flies in the garden so again we couldn’t sit outside. We also had to keep the windows shut because of the flies. The kitchen was fantastic. The bathroom upstairs was very cute with the roll top bath. The hot water good for filling the bath. The lounge was very small and felt like a corridor. It smelled a bit damp The bed upstairs creaked a lot. It’s only a small double The bathroom downstairs was adequate. No safety mat for the shower though The study area and the downstairs bedrooms looked a bit old fashioned. The downstairs main bedroom had twin beds. It would have been nicer if there was a a large king size bed downstairs This cottage has obviously been a very much loved holiday home for the family. It’s definitely not a luxury holiday cottage..

Lots to like but very dated and not good value for money. The garden was a highlight, sitting in the sunshine with a glass of wine was very peaceful. It's secluded and not entirely enclosed for dogs but worked well for our dog. Having the OS map and other leaflets was helpful. We would have liked a visitor book to see what past guests recommended. The location within Pembrokeshire was good with lovely coastline nearby plus St Davids and Fishguard. But beware, as the information states, the lane to the cottage is very narrow with a tight bend! The kitchen was bright, modern, clean and very well equipped. The window seat was perfect. The lounge was cosy and absolutely fine for the two of us but definitely not big enough for 6. We chose this cottage because of the photos (garden and inside) and the proximity to the sea and were willing to pay more for what appeared to be luxury and having the sea within 15 mins walk. In the end we were disappointed. The walk to the sea was along a narrow and overgrown footpath, slippery underfoot and not very easy. We are good walkers and expected to stroll down to the sea of an evening, which we never did. We walked it regularly to get on to the coastal path but it wouldn't be a good route with children and beach equipment. The kitchen, the upstairs bathroom and the lounge were fine but the rest of the house, in our view, was in need of updating. The upstairs bedroom has great views but is small and wardrobe space is limited to a rail and low cupboards.The downstairs bedrooms and downstairs bathroom are dated; the lampshades, conduits on all the walls, musty smell (including the mop in the vestibule on arrival) and unattractive storage heaters were not the smart and attractive cottage we had envisaged. The shower downstairs was good, just the room was dated and the bathmat wouldn't dry; there was no bath mat provided upstairs. Overall, the cottage felt tired to us. This cottage would have been fine for us had it been half the price and had we known what to expect; however the feedback on the Coastal Cottages website, the high price and the photos led us to believe otherwise.

Cold; damp and mould in the bedroom and bathroom; rubbish bin full and smelly; storage heaters cold and nothing left to allow us to light the log burner. Have complained to Coastal Cottages and received apology but definitely wouldn’t return.

Roof leaked. One leak leaked directly on to storage heater. Cooker didn't work, nor the DVD remote. Cottage had not been properly cleaned prior to our visit. We were offered a £50 token as compensation for a weekly rental that was the best part of £900.

cottage smelt damp and was cold 4 small logs and small amount of coal left for I woodturner and 1 fire nowhere near enough. The chimney had obviously not been swept as we had smoke billowing out from all the joints .Prompt action was taken to rectify the situation. The cottage was shabby and tired. The only things to recommend it were great views and location, well equipped and comfortable beds.

Amazing location. We loved sitting in the garden and swimming in the cove which is a 10-minute walk down a small footpath. We also appreciated the Ship in Trefin which is 10-15 minute walk down the same path, very friendly with great beer and a garden with views. Hardly needed to get in the car all week as hanging out in the house and the local area was superb. Lovely sunny weather all week and not too hot like the rest of the country.

Although the location was wonderful, we were so disappointed with the cottage. It smelt very strongly of damp (it hit you on entry) and it was grubby, especially the kitchen, downstairs bathroom and living room. The kitchen was very tired with ill fitting cupboard doors and drawers, dirty table cover and all in need of a good clean. The storage heater in the living room remained on, despite our trying to follow instructions to switch it off left in the folder. it is clearly very old. There were blankets and throws, but these were filthy. While we accepted the late demand that we pay for the electricity we used, we felt that it was excessive to expect us to pay the standing charge as well. The bedrooms were very nice with very comfortable beds, fresh paint in some and new carpets. The upstairs bedroom and ensuite were nicely decorated and clean. They were what we expected for the high rent. As I said, the location was perfect, but when the weather was poor, we wanted somewhere welcoming and clean to come back to. We did not have that. One other point: there was no visitors' book, local information, tourist leaflets or any recommendations. Nor was there basic cottage information regarding bed linen, recycling or rubbish. It was not a welcoming holiday cottage. It was particularly disappointing as my daughter, who accompanied us, is awaiting surgery and we wanted to show off this part of Wales. My husband and I have often holidayed in this part of Wales in the past. This was the worst place we have ever stayed in and it wasn't cheap.

A lovely cottage in a great location. Just let down on a few details. Only half of the cooker plates and grill worked which made cooking awkward. The tv was small and antiquated and it was sheer chance which of the few channels were available at any time. Wall decorations dating from many years ago didn’t help the image of it being up to date. It was a really nice place but a little investment would go a long way, especially given the considerable weekly rates.
