The cottage was nice, quaint and quirky. The position right by the beach was outstanding. We loved the view of the sea from the bedroom window. The beds were very, very comfortable and the duvets and pillows were of high quality. The slight downside was the heating. It is heated by night storage heaters which had not been put on before we arrived so it was very cold and unwelcoming when we arrived. We were glad of the log fire which did get the living room reasonably warm once we got it going, but the kitchen/ dining room, bedrooms and bathrooms were very cold. On the following days the night storage heaters provided reasonable warmth during the day but by the evening they had given off most of their heat so the rooms got quite chilly. We certainly needed the log fire. We were there in March and at a particularly stormy time with a bitterly cold wind. Probably in the summer months this would not be such a problem. It was made worse by the fact one night there was a power cut at 2:30am and the power was not restored until 4pm the following afternoon, so no heat in the storage heaters, no hot water, no way of cooking etc during this time. However I accept that is not the fault of the cottage owners. I was slightly disappointed that there was no 'welcome pack' (milk tea/coffee etc) on arrival which is usual in most self catering cottages we have had, and which allows you to have a hot drink on arrival before going to get your shopping. This is a minor point but along with the cold it added to the unwelcoming feel when we first arrived. Also parts of the cottage could do with a good dusting! Overall a nice cottage and we probably would stay there again but a few little things let it down.

A lovely, traditional cottage in a perfect location. WiFi can be patchy which I think is an added bonus!

Home from home with almost all you need to just open the door and go. Real wood burner with all you need for a nightly cosy fire. Old cottage so cold spots but so are all seaside cottages just on the beach. Freezer and separate fridge, old but good cooker. You are hiring a lovely family home, ageing but generously furnished and quality 5* for the generosity of extras supplied but it isn’t full of brand new furniture if that’s your ideal. I love being here, can watch seals from the front bedroom just over the smallish beach. Big rooms too.

Great location for walking and nature lovers. The cottage is old and has lots of history and we liked it being a little quirky. However, it would benefit from a good deep clean and some TLC to the interior, some of the cooking utensils were not fit to be used. The garden is welcome benefit and a great place to watch the sunset.

The location of the cottage is amazing. The garden is a nice space to relax secluded from the beach and the wind. The cottage is spacious and very well-equipped.

Beach Cottage is in a fabulous location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this amazing part of Wales. We took paddle boards and bikes and comfy beach Sun loungers and enjoyed sitting out the front of the cottage watching all the activities. ( Note decked chairs were provided which we didn’t use). First impression of the cottage was that it looked a bit tired. Saying that the beds were comfy, the layout of the cottage worked well for us and unlike many cottages there were plenty of supplies of cleaning products, toilet rolls, cling film etc. The kitchen is rustic but well thought out, good size fridge and everything worked. As the week went on the rustic charms and practical layout won me over. It’s a proper authentic family cottage in an amazing spot. A visit to the Shed highly recommended, so good we had to go twice.
