The furniture is very stained and uncomfortable. The tv is very temperamental as are the remote controls. The curtains in the lounge smell awful of stale sweat/sourness/bad onions. We had to stop closing them after a couple of nights as the smell was so bad. We had an issue with a wet slippy floor in the downstairs bathroom. Apparently the owners sent an engineer out according to Coastal Cottages who only informed me after I rang them but nothing looked any different and the floor hadn’t even been dried or the problem sorted out. The problem continued to persist and Coastal Cottages stated they were unable to offer any further help of any kind until after we had finished our holiday and suggested we use the upstairs bathroom instead. We came home early. One of the reasons for choosing the cottage was it having a downstairs bathroom which was out of use. We won’t be staying there again or booking through Coastal Cottages.

We have been in touch with you directly regarding the concerns you raised. As soon as the issue with the downstairs bathroom was reported, we arranged for a plumber to attend promptly and cleared the system. Following a further report, the property was revisited, however no fault could be identified. Based on similar reports received during the same period, we believe the exceptionally hot and humid weather may have caused condensation to form on the tiled flooring. However, we will continue to monitor this closely going forwards.
