I stayed here over Xmas and would not consider going back. We had issues with the oven the whole time of being there. It took 2 hours just to cook a pasta bake and more than an hour and a half to cook some chips. We contacted the owner he came around as was very rude he basically said you either like it or you know where the door is. They then had someone to come fix the oven and was told he didn’t have the right part so even then the oven wasn’t working properly. It took 10 plus hours to cook Christmas dinner. There was a big hole in the garden which I am now being blamed for that my dogs digged it up even although it was already there. They will not give me back my bond deposit I am furious. Whatever you do don’t book this place as you will be disappointed.

Well equipped, spacious cottage close to the beach. Few minutes walk to wonderful beach, also a cafe and RNLI shop. Helpful owners live in adjacent property- thank you for the generous and much appreciated welcome pack! The view of the outbuildings of the owners property is slightly off putting when the cottage is first approached from the road entrance - but otherwise the cottage was exactly what we hoped for.

The Alders is an extremely comfortable, well equipped holiday cottage in a peaceful location just across from Poppit Sands and I would have ideally given it 4 and a half stars were it not for a few minor issues. We found that the fridge was not really large enough for the property and we struggled to fit everything in despite there only being 6 of us. There are no locks on the bathroom doors which was a concern, especially with the downstairs bathroom, and it would be helpful to have somewhere to hang towels in the upstairs bathrooms. A hand-held shower in the upstairs bathroom would have been useful. This was our second stay there and we would happily stay there again.

The Alders is in a great location with immediate access to a good quality beach. Quite and secluded on the edge of a farm with good access and ample private parking. The cottage is spacious and well furnished (some bits are a bit tired) and not newly built as per Coastal cottages add. It was clean and everything worked. Could have done with Airers for towels, otherwise a great place to stay. And dog friendly:-)
