The Smithy is a warm and welcoming cottage in a delightful location. The cottage is well equipped with coffee makers, microwave, air fryer, fridge freezer, washing machine etc. the living area is well furnished and the bedroom is warm and cosy. The view from the cottage looks down to the beach and the sea and just along the track steps lead down to the beach.Whilst we stayed there the wild flowers were in full bloom along the track and by the houses in Abercastle. A truly restful and picturesque place, supplying everything for a peaceful and tranquil break, we loved it.

Getting ready for an update
Wow! What a great position overlooking the cove and so close to the sea. Loved the cottage and the views. Great to sit outside for breakfast. Very easy access to beach, ( some may find it steep and rocky in places ). The last bit of access track is rutted with grass up the middle, slightly challenging in an ordinary car, I found it OK by keeping wheels one side on the central hump. Have to change sides at one point. Parking area by cottages is much smoother and was plenty of room. We lliked Whitesands Bay and cliffs. Porthgain was really interesting place, with great fish and chips at The Shed.
Very cosy cottage in an ideal location. Stunning view of the bay and lovely walks in either direction. There is everything in the cottage that you could need.
Lovely cottage for two in a fabulous location! Wonderful sunsets over the harbour inlet. Right on the coastal path for great walks. And close to lovely St David's. Have been here two years running now and hope to return in the future.
Perfect cottage for a relaxing holiday. Overlooking the sea in a Perfect location. Equipped with everything you need and very cosy. The owner was very helpful and welcoming. Can't wait to go back for another two weeks in 7 weeks time.
Such a beautiful location and a lovely cottage. It was great to be able to access the beach so easily, not having to drive to get to the sea it's just at the bottom of the steps. The cottage has everything needed for a relaxed holiday, we would thoroughly recommend it, ideal for walkers, kyakers and resting and reading people. Very cosy and welcoming we loved it.
Lovely cottage, beautiful spot. Had everything we could want for a weeks holiday.

The house is fully equipped. The view is amazing.
Wonderful cottage in a beautiful location. Views are stunning and Abercastle quiet. Well placed for coastal walks and visiting St Davids. Pubs nearby.
Our third visit. Lovely position!
A cosy, clean and comfortable cottage in a stunningly beautiful location with just the sound of the birds and the sea.. It was a joy to just walk from the door down to the water and along the coast path.
The Smithy was just a perfect place to be, to relax and enjoy the walks and all the wildlife.
A lot of the pamphlets in the property on places to go were out of date. Some by as much as 5 years. We have replaced some.
After staying at this cottage in 2018, I gave it a review on ‘feefo’. I was quite critical of the service received as I found the cottage to be quite dirty (cobwebs everywhere, rubbish under the bed, broken glass under the settee, etc) and the equipment provided was poor (TV & kitchen etc). I felt that the owner/ caretaker could have made much more of an effort. All of this aside, the accommodation perfectly suited my needs and was located in the exact area where I wanted to be. I wanted to return to the area this year, but as there are very few options available that are suitable for a one person rental, I made the decision to use the same property again. On my arrival I initially felt that the owner had made an effort to rectify some of the issues previously raised (the cobwebs were less apparent and the TV setup had been improved etc). Then as the night drew in, the cobwebs became more noticeable under artificial lighting and then when I went to chop some vegetables for my evening meal, I discovered two chopping boards in the drawer which were covered in mould. The next morning I noticed that there was also mould around the bedroom windows and bird poo on the windowsill (internal). Later on in the week, while looking for some misplaced keys, I discovered that I had been relaxing on a settee that had lots of old food and cigarette filters etc under the cushions. Judging from the visitor’s comments book, it would seem that most people are willing to overlook such issues, by focusing on the stunning location of the cottage. I have worked in the hospitality business and also had a long career in social care where cleanliness and hygiene are strictly regulated, so I believe that standards matter. If I am expected to shell out hundreds of pounds of my hard earned money (especially at a time when every penny counts) then I expect better.
