Best cottage we have stayed in for location and amenities. Upside down house great as weather was quite hot some days and with a dog was ideal. Very quiet and peaceful. So many walks from the door to Newport Estuary and Beach, Angel Mountain and more. We would go back again.
Overall a good property, comfortable bed, quiet location. However, let down slightly in a few areas. Outdoor furniture needs urgent replacement as liable to fall apart. Fridge/freezer also in poor condition. Windows would benefit from a good clean inside and out. Bathroom very dark and fans very noisy. The cottage is in a lovely spot with easy access into Newport, both by road and foot via the lane. Lovely view towards the sea. If the above points were addressed I would give 5*.
Lovely place to stay. Beautifully updated cottage, well equipped and with thoughtful additions. Quiet but within an easy walk to the shops and pubs of Newport
Beautiful cottage in an idyllic location. Amazing walks up the mountain and along the coast.
Ty Top cottage is super. It's spacious, peaceful and very well equipped with cleaning products and kitchen basics like oils, vinears and spices. Newport is a lovely little town with a picturesque harbour and large beach as well as a number of hostelries and artisan shops. Ty Top is situated up hill from the town which means it's very peaceful. Coastal Cottages require a check out time of 9am - the earliest I've experienced. Check in was 5pm which again is later than I've experienced before. Coastal Cottages' cleaners don't distinguish between recycling and waste. There are lots of recycling points in Council operated car parks so we took our recycling out with us but Coastal Cottages should really commit to recycling!
Ty Top is a very comfortable and spacious cottage in a beautiful location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Ty Top is lovely and we've been returning there over a period of 10 years, which is a measure of how much we like it. Sadly, I'm not sure whether we will be able to afford it in the future as the price has increased so much in that time. Also, I do think towels should be included given the price.
It is delightful in many ways. The views and location are wonderful. The comfortable lounge at the top is light and spacious. Everywhere in the house is beautifully done and well equipped. Thank you we hope to visit again.
A beautifully situated cottage with walks from the front door to The Common or down through Newport to the river or coastal walks and beaches. The cottage was very well equipped.
