I contacted Colonial Penn online…

I contacted Colonial Penn online because of the "guaranteed" acceptance policy..,..which it is NOT ! I expressed everything I knew about my health issues and waited for a "contact" of acceptance. Unfortunately , I received a email to finish my contract of insurance, to call them. I did call and was asked "multiple" questions about my health and family history. After a few more days , I received an email that, I was not granted the insurance. For me , this company is a scam. I later acquired life/ burial insurance from 2 other businesses, which I am HAPPY to be with. Move on.....save yourself from them !

A bad company with a bad spokesperson

Their spokesperson is wearing an "arsesign". When will people ever learn that as a man it is a conscious decision to do that? It means "Today I woke up and decided to be the biggest arsesign I could possibly be". And you believe them! My sister dated a guy that cheated on her and I looked at his picture and said, "Duh! You haven't been listening. He has an arsesign"

They cheated us!

I had 2 accounts, one in my husband/s name and one in mine, paid each separately on my visa debit on autopay for several years. Without warning my husband's account disappeared - when I called them they said he did not have an account, and they hung up on me! We got cheated!

Horrible Understanding of Customer Relations

I tried to apply for a policy for my wife and myself, her husband. I told the agent, to make the payments for both of us for the 16th of Jan, 2026. Instead, she started my wife the same day, 9th of Jan. 2026. I again explained the date. It was as I was ignored. Back and forth with CS, it will take me over 2 weeks to get my payment back. TERRIBLE! customer relationship.

T.V…comerical,s

How can someone like you tell us to be honest? Lawson is on my t.v.ever five standing there grinning like the cat that ate the canary.I change the channel and he is on that one to.It seems that don't care what you are doing to our senior citizens that has nothing to do but watch t.v.and could not do it if they did due to their health That constant bombardment of nothing but commerical,s cause,s nothing anxiety and depression and that is a crime. It is called elderly abuse.I know because I am one of them.I don't expect anything to come of this because people like you care more about money than you do about us.There is a lot more compa nies doing the same thing. What I said here today is real and it is a crime but seems like no one cares.

Bottom line Liars

Bottom line Liars! Bait and switch. $10 a month get you nothing for the first two years and worthless after that. Do yourself a favor put that $10 in a high yield savings and you will get more than what this rip off company that prays on feeble old people. My aunt took her little money she got and bought this and died before the 2-year period. They just gave her kids the money she spent back $220, and it took forever. The only good thing is to know that that spokesman will be burning in Hell forever for his underhanded non-disclosure selling tactics. The disclaimer at the bottom of the screen is extremely difficult to read by a normal human and impossible by the elderly. What I do have to say is that if you do not do do justice and review the company you get what you pay for and in this case false promises.

Called to cancel medical supplement

Called to cancel medical supplement policy on 9-25-2025, they never told me I had to hand write a cancellation mail or fax in. On 10-26-2025 after they took a payment from my checking account, and that was when I was told about the hand written cancellation. Because they were not honest from the beginning, I lost $151.00. Totally uncalled for a well known business to scam there customers

A Complete Rip-Off – Do the Math!

I signed up for the Colonial Penn life insurance plan that’s heavily advertised at "$9.95 per month." What they don’t tell you upfront is that this only buys you a single unit of coverage – which is just $800. That means if you want even a modest $10,000 in coverage, you're paying over $120 a month. Want the full $25,000? That’s nearly $310/month! And here's the kicker — your health status doesn’t change the price OR the benefit. So whether you're fit as a fiddle or have serious medical conditions, you’re getting the same overpriced deal.

It’s misleading advertising, plain and simple. The $9.95 pitch is just a hook to get you in the door. Once you realize how little coverage you’re actually getting, it feels like a total scam. You'd be far better off exploring other life insurance options that give you real value for your money. Colonial Penn’s “Guaranteed Acceptance” plan sounds nice, but it’s financially predatory for what you actually get.

Avoid this unless you enjoy throwing money away.

Jonathan LIED

I went online to apply for this $9.95/month life insurance and WAS asked health questions- do you have diabetes? I responded yes bc I do and was told my monthly premium would be $59.95…so Jonathan lied saying you’ll not be asked any health questions and the premium would be no more than $9.95.

BEWARE! Fraudulently charged $250 for "Free" Quote

Received email for a "free" quote with "rates to fit your budget...starting at $9.99." Wanted to see what different plans/rates they'd offer. I auto-filled my address info and my personal checking account info was also INADVERTENTLY auto-filled. I had no idea they were asking for account numbers just to get a quote. When I submitted my request for a "free quote," I was immediately redirected to a screen thanking me for being a new member and giving me a confirmation that $250 had been deducted from my checking account. They never provided a quote or any indication that I was even being charged.
I immediately called customer service and chose the "new accounts" option. SUPER, SICKLY SWEET, Southern rep was so helpful until she learned I wanted this canceled and a refund. She told me to call the number back and pick another option for a different department that could help me. Well, that option rang and rang and rang. Then, the rudest, thuggiest and most unprofessional rep answered all angry like I was bothering her. She told me she couldn't cancel the policy because it wasn't generated yet. She couldn't refund me without a policy. They charged my account $250 without my consent, and I was told to call back in two days...a weekend. They're not open. This is criminal.

If I have been paying into colonial…

If I have been paying into colonial Penn for over twenty years. My advice is understand what kind of policy you're buying. At 9.95 that is when I started with but I turn around 65 it was 25.00 It is not whole life insurance you will pay extra for that. Make sure you know what you're paying for. If you cancel your account, like I did you get nothing back. Not even a thank you 🌿 be aware

Tricky company

Customer service -they barely speak English, very difficult to understand which I believe to be very intentional when the average person calling for assistance is more than likely a senior citizen. They are only paying for HALF of my mother's funeral after my parents paid into Colonial Penn for years. When my dad passed in 2023 they paid the 5,000 benefit, but they dropped the entire policy forcing my mom to purchase a new policy, they started the policy in 2023, my mom passed December 2024. Colonial Penn informed me that because it's under two years they will not pay out the entire 5,000 benefit but only half. Very very limited benefits. I will not be utilizing Colonial Penn for my prearrangements for burial. I do not trust Colonial Penn whatsoever
