Because they don't pay for 1st 2 years

Because they don't pay for 1st 2 years, you end up paying $2400 for $900 worth of coverage. No wonder they say you can keep it as long as you pay your premiums. After 10 years, you've paid $24,000 for $900 worth of insurance. Sure you want to just make CP rich?

They are a terrible insurance company

They are a terrible insurance company, I have had my policy for over 5 years and pay approximately 70.00 a month for a $20,000. whole life policy. Now trying to get a Whole life policy through them for my husband in the amount of 100,000. they refuse saying he can only get a $15,000. policy for 150.00 a month.

The Mirage

when I saw the TV ad, on the air like a million times lately, it took almost no intuition to see that this Jonathan dude, a paid actor, promoted COST, NOT BENEFIT. It is disingenuous to espouse one side of the story, when the other side stinks, and takes away from the overall appeal of the entire plan offering. EXAMPLE: I am 74 and plugged my info into their $9.95/mo calculator.... insurance face popped up as $590 next for 2 years.... this, to me, is seriously presenting an imbalanced, almost fraudulent profile, in NOT disclosing ALL sides of the offer... Jonathan is a paid robot

This company needs something better to…

This company needs something better to do than rip off the elderly for their worthless "insurance". If everyone would file a complaint with the Federal Trade commission we wouldn't have to see their stupid TV commercials anymore!

What they should do is explain to people what the difference is between "price you can afford" and "price that fits your budget"......BECAUSE THERE ISN'T ANY DUFFERENCE!!!

Yet their thief "spokesman" Johathan Lawson continues to work for them in an attempt to get you to give them your hard-earned money.

Are the TV networks really that desparate, that they have to keep putting Colinial's garbage on our tv'?

Decided to take advantage of their…

Decided to take advantage of their "look n' see no obligation" offer and wish I'd researched them beforehand. Too many complaints about this company ranging from product disappointment to billing or even trying to collect on a claim.

Update: Visit The National Association of Insurance Companies (NAIC). There have been 42 complaints levied against Colonial Penn. Buyer beware!

Decided not to buy from them. We were well within the 30 day review period, they'd already charged the account yet getting out of dealing with them is the pits.

Before your call to examine them do your research. If you decide to request product(s) from them and decide to send them back you should make your request in writing and return everything via certified mail return receipt.

Fail to establish a paper trail and chances are you'll regret it. Once they have your payment method you may have a difficult time getting your money back.

Note: Do yourself a favor and read the fine print. By doing so you'll have the information you will need to make an intelligent informed decision.

They have several plans for every budget. The consumer has to choose what fits--not the company. Their job is to sell. The consumer's job is to be knowledgeable about buying options (types of insurance) and cost.
