Abusive, Punitive Service, and Extreme Professional Misconduct

My experience with Coltella was unequivocally the worst vendor relationship I have ever encountered, culminating in extreme professional difficulties. Prospective clients need to understand the fundamental hostility built into their service model and the retaliatory actions they take against honest feedback.

The system itself is unnecessarily rigid and actively punitive. Day-to-day work was a constant source of stress due to an overzealous account administrator who would log users out without warning for the smallest, most minor infractions. This rigidity felt designed to maximize control and minimize productivity.

Furthermore, the mandatory training courses provided were painfully un-engaging and felt eternal, acting as a massive time sink with negligible educational value.

The most shocking and professionally damaging incident occurred after I left an honest review online expressing these frustrations. Coltella took the unprecedented and professionally egregious step of identifying me, contacting my management, and using my feedback against me. This retaliatory action caused immense, documented problems in my workplace. This is not how a professional service provider should handle criticism; it demonstrates a profound lack of ethics and respect for their clients' staff.

The system required proprietary software to be installed on my personal laptop. I have since quit my job, and the single greatest source of relief is no longer having to work with Coltella and having finally uninstalled their software from my personal device.

Coltella does not provide a service; they provide a liability. I strongly advise any company considering Coltella to look elsewhere unless they are prepared for extremely rigid administration and the risk of their employees facing professional repercussions for simply providing truthful feedback.

Dear Alberto.

I am very sorry to hear that you feel this way about a service that your past employer acquired to help protect its staff and customers from today’s Cyber Security risks.

Unfortunately, we live and work in a world where Cyber Security is critical in all industries, especially aviation, which is why it’s become an important part of the NIS2 Directive & EASA Part-IS Regulation, both of which are designed to help underpin the protection of personal data as well as the safety of passengers and staff.

Whilst you may or may not agree with these regulatory requirements, I am pleased to advise that your past employer does take it very seriously, and through working closely with the team at Coltella, they are at the forefront of delivering a Cyber Secure service to their customers and staff.

Regarding your original complaint, I can confirm that I looked into this for you and reported my findings back through the correct channels to your employer, our customer. However, for your own benefit, I can see that at no point were you forced to install the security software required to access your workplace systems, but it was in fact your own personal choice under your employers Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy combined with your own subsequent actions that compromised security and caused you to lose access to your workplace systems.

Regarding your original review, this was reported to your employer and removed by Trustpilot due to slander, something we consider extremely un-professional and take very seriously when our staff are targeted personally in public reviews.

Lastly, I can see from your past reviews on both Google and Trustpilot that you have experienced cyber incidents personally in the past and I am hopeful that the security training provided free from your employer will help you to protect yourself personally from such incidents in the future. It’s also worth noting that using your name and photo on reviews in a public forum does not constitute an anonymous review.

I wish you all the best in your future career.
