Returns process dire - will not use again...
I really love Columbia products and buy their walking trainers. For a change I ordered direct from the company and unfortunately the trainers did not fit so had to be returned. This is where the problem started.
You have to use UPS to return products to Columbia. UPS use YEEP! lockers and their app just does not work it just crashes every time (the 700+ 1 star reviews should be enough to make UPS have a rethink - apparently not!!). I then went to a store which they state on their website takes returns. It stopped 3 months ago so another wasted trip. I then tried to get it collected from home and it website kept refusing the process Paypal, credit card and Apple Pay and would only accept cash for the driver - who has cash these days??? I ended up having to use Royal Mail at additional cost to return the item to UPS - what a joke!! I just have to hope that my return gets processed correctly.... As a result I will not be buying from Columbia direct again!

Although a refund was eventually issued, it took almost two months to resolve what should have been a straightforward refund for faulty boots. This delay and the way the situation was handled are completely unacceptable.
During the process, I was asked to irreversibly destroy part of the product in order to receive a refund — a requirement not disclosed at the time of purchase. I was repeatedly pushed towards vouchers instead of a refund, despite vouchers requiring additional spending, having expiry dates, and not being an equivalent remedy for faulty goods.
Customer service was very poor. I was told not to call, as each call would count as an interaction and reduce the priority of my case, and I was given no timeline for resolution. As the issue dragged on through winter, I was forced to purchase alternative boots to have suitable footwear.
I used to love Columbia and have been a loyal customer, but this experience has completely undermined my trust. I will not be ordering from Columbia again.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience ordering ski goggles from Columbia.
I placed an order on December 14th through Columbia’s website for a pair of ski goggles for my husband, totaling USD 61.38. I have never had any issues receiving packages at my address before, yet for reasons unknown, Columbia’s courier, DHL, claimed they could not locate my address and marked the package as undeliverable. The package was then taken back by the courier without any attempt to resolve the issue.
After hearing nothing further, I contacted Columbia’s customer service and was informed that the package was being returned to them and that I would be refunded once they received it back. It is important to note that the package was never in my possession at any point.
Since this was intended as a Christmas gift, I had no choice but to place a new order. This second order was delivered without any problems in early January—already late considering it was a Christmas present, but at least it arrived.
The issue now is that I still have not received my refund for the original order of USD 61.39. I have contacted Columbia four times regarding this matter. My most recent phone call lasted 45 minutes, only to be told once again that they will not issue a refund until the original package is physically back in their possession.
To summarize: I never received the package, the delivery failure was entirely on Columbia’s side and their courier, and yet I am being held financially responsible. It should not be my responsibility to wait indefinitely for Columbia to locate a package that they failed to deliver in the first place.
This experience has been frustrating, time-consuming, and deeply disappointing, especially from a brand I expected better customer service from.
Difficult company to get problems resolved
I never received a emailed gift card that I wanted as a Christmas gift. I paid for it on November 28 Started inquiring about it December 18. They said there was a problem with sending emails to my email account. I asked for regular card by mail they said they couldn't change it. I asked about my money back no reply. Talked to many different agents and no continuity in dealing with problem. They kept sending emails saying my case was closed, 4 in all. I wrote their headquarters and finally got numbers on January 8 for gift card that was supposed to be a Christmas present.
Lost package and no refund!
My package got lost in the mail. It’s been 60 days and Columbia still refuses to refund. They keep saying the need to complete an investigation but their timeline changes every time I ask. There’s a lot of sports clothes out there, don’t waste your time with Columbia!

Would rate it less than 1 if i could. Ordered from many providers at the same time, to compare which jacket I like better. All other companies delivered in less than 5 days. With Columbia it has been over 10 days…

Well where do I start?
Ordered my item on 29/12/2025 and other than the order confirmation, I heard nothing from them until 05/01/2026 after messaging their contact portal and tweeting them (this works as you publicly put them but they didn’t respond to this either!). And on 05/01/2026 I had to phone them and was on hold for about 10-15 minutes. The operator was quite condescending and basically made out that I should give them a chance with it being the festive period. This I understand for deliveries but surely an update is possible.
Then nothing until it was posted. Then slow updates from UPS until they received the item on 08/01/2026.
It is now 12/01/2026 and I have just got home to find an opened parcel. My partner hasn’t opened it, in fact I have pics of the delivery and the clean line at the to of the bag shows that it was open prior to delivery. Now I’m sure Columbia will blame UPS and UPS will blame Columbia. I don’t care. Your service was 1 star poor! Do better.
The coat is actually quite nice so if you like their clothing, please look at stockists rather than them direct.
Worst customer service!
Tried to pay on website using PayPal but wouldn't go through their end. Phoned customer care and got told it was my browser???. Then called PayPal and was told Columbia need to accept my request at their end. Called customer care again, worst experience I've ever had. Was told I couldn't be put through to payments....couldn't be put through to a manager.... couldn't be put through to complaints.... just find another payment method. It was like they were actively trying to be unhelpful, which is just plain rude. In 2026, we do not have to tolerate that kind of service... advise you to go elsewhere (imagine if I'd bought something and had a problem???)

I never thought to check trust pilot for such a thing ell known brand but wow I wish I did. Customer service is shocking, order severely delayed, still haven’t received, still no idea when it’s coming, tracking isn’t being updated and customer service just palm you off all the time. Please avoid!!!

I also ordered a jacket for my son on Black Friday. I live in an apartment with package lockers. I received an email from Columbia that my package was received however, I never received an email from the package locker that I had a package. I had the apartment manager open all the lockers, and my package was not in there. She even did a deep dive into all packages that were delivered around the supposed time that the jacket was delivered, and there wasn’t even any in the same time frame. She was kind enough to reach out to the three people who had a package delivered within the hour that the supposed package was delivered and no, they didn’t have my package. I called Customer Service to let them know and they said it would take up to two weeks for them to “investigate” in the meantime, I ordered the same coat for my son. They were kind enough to give me expedited shipping. I continued to call and they couldn’t provide me any information about the investigation and they kept telling me to call back in a couple days call back in a couple days then they send me an email that their investigation is closed and then it appears that I received the package. I did call to try to discuss that. I could also offer proof by having the apartment manager, print out documentation showing that there was nothing for me in the package locker, but they said it was final and that there was nothing they can do and they thanked me for understanding. I’m a 43-year-old X military female who have used Columbia gear my entire life I’ve loved it. It’s the only coats I’ve ever owned, but recently they suck and I will never ever buy from them again and I urge you to not order from the website it appears that they outsource customer service to a third-party and they have no control or no answers for you. Colombia is just trying to save a buck while screwing their consumers.

I ordered a coat as a Christmas gift on Dec 7. The carrier, OnTrac, never attempted delivery and officially declared the package lost on Dec 22. Despite the shipping company admitting they lost the item, Columbia Sportswear continues to give me the runaround. I have called multiple times and am told they are "investigating," but what is there to investigate when the carrier already gave up? It is now Dec 27, Christmas has passed, and I am out of both the gift and my money. They use budget shipping services but don't provide the customer service to back it up when things go wrong. Great products, but terrible post-purchase support.
TERRIBLE COMPANY NEVER ORDER FROM HERE
I ordered a Columbia jacket on 12/1/25 Cyber Monday it is a Cloudview Down Hooded Jacket It was 205.00. I followed the tracking every day and then after about 20 days, my shipping tracker finally said undeliverable. I contacted the company via email and phone call to their customer service department. They keep telling us that they have to do an investigation before they can credit my account for the first jacket that was purchased on December 1st. When I called the company about trying to find the first jacket that is listed as undeliverable – the guy I talked to said that I should re-order the jacket and pay again BUT that my account would be refunded for the first jacket in 1 business day. THAT NEVER HAPPENED. When I called them to say my account has not been refunded – they said the guy gave me bad information and that it would have to go to their investigation department which would take 7-14 days. Now I have paid 2 times for a jacket that I do not have. When I call to ask for them to just give me my money back – I get transferred from one person to the next and they all say this is going to investigations. I said they can see right there that the package was undeliverable – what else is there to investigate? I do not have confidence that I am going to receive the second jacket and may start proceedings to dispute with my bank and I filed a complaint with the BBB
