The staff at Common have been very quick in addressing issues via email. They fixed a dent in the door in 2 days, quickly fixed the garbage disposal and cleaned the couch. Good communication and I was informed throughout the process!

I've enjoyed living at common but I've also had many issues with them. The alarm has gone off many many times in the middle of the night. There is no sense of organization and no communication with the people that live in the building. So even after the alarm goes off, nobody apologizes or tells us what happens. There are lost of things that seem off. For example people that have moved out haven't gotten their deposit back. Another thing is they increase your rent each time you renew your lease but they charge everyone a different amount. Overall, the communication between the people that live at the building and the people that work for common needs to improve. The people that work downstairs in the front desk usually can't help because there isn't much they can help with. Anyone that you need to talk to, you'll never see in person. They also take forever to respond to emails. There is an app that people share all the issues they have in, but nobody from common ever reads the chat so they never fix anything.

At first I had a hard time with customer service over the phone, but then Zack Sultan stepped in, and really helped. Such a nice guy, great at his job, and made himself available to help me with my application on his day off!

I needed clarification of the payment ledger and was given a response in less than 12 hours or so (I called at night and received clarification by the morning). My roommate also needed help but was failing to get the attention needed, so I asked Kaitlin (who responded to me) if she could take notice and she did so immediately. He was very pleased. Thank you, Kaitlin!!

I had to remove my previous review because as soon as I paid money to this company they stopped responding and managing problems. 1) My card was charged a convenience fee TWICE. I asked to pay with my bank account and the management couldn't help. So $80 less from my pocket. 2) On my move-in date when I arrived to the apartment I have realized that the security lock in my room doesn't work and none of the bathrooms have locks. Can you believe it? So my room and unit wasn't ready and I let the management know about it. I had to give a written notification that they are violating the clause 16 of the lease and I am terminating it now. And the management keep saying that "Your privacy lock being broken does not prevent you from occupying the unit as long as the door to your suite is functioning and locking." And this is a co-living place. Of course it does prevent me from occupying the room. How am I supposed to live there when I cannot use a bathroom when there are no locks. Manager Samantha is extremely unprofessional and unhelpful.

The absolute worst landlord-tenant relationship I've ever been involved in my life. I've met cool people there but depending on who lives in your building your life can be a living hell, smoking inside is the norm, it's been 3 months and they haven't returned my security deposit, during 911 emergencies they couldn't care less, fire alarm went off and no one responded, people come and go very often so it's always new faces and no sense of safety, one nice cleaning lady only has 6h/week to clean an entire building (some areas like the kitchens end up completely filthy and it's not her fault because at least she can blame it on the residents - which is true)... Having a homeless person living in the building premises (read: right next to the backdoor) is probably the nicest thing I can say about my time there. Very nice guy.

Fabiola at Common National Landing is an amazing specialist. She has helped me so much with my move and transition from Boston Massachusetts to Virginia. I appreciate her and the rest of the staff for creating a comfortable space and helping me make Virgina my new home.

I would like to thank Kaitlin for helping me out and king wonders on keeping me posted and being active with me in our conversation. It was crystal clear and I’m glad we were on the same page, again thanks a lot! I can always count you for support anytime.

The employees were very friendly and they respond rapidly to questions.
I would only recommend they call back or send messages by phone -as far as possible- instead of sending mail all time.

Common at Broadridge is in a prime location with amazing amenities. I had the pleasure of being the very first tenant in my unit and it was comfortable and just the right size for one at 250 sqft. The only thing stopping me from giving this 5-stars is the fact that I felt the struggle of the building gaining more and more tenants as well as some issues the the shower pressure. Also the carpet that comes in the furnished unit produces a ton of dust and it’s up to the tenant to replace it if necessary.

I stayed in the Havemeyer home. Stay far away. Things might seem fine during the tour but that’s a mirage. Our AC did not work for the whole summer (2021), and we (myself and all the suite mates) had to push them hard to get answers (apparently a Freon leak which I strongly suspect was known to them for years). Also, things will break down all the time in the suite. I eventually moved out, and the worst part was that I did not get my security deposit back for 2 months. They were totally unresponsive and I did not see my money back until I threatened legal action.
Stay away!

Common is a great place to relocate to, the home has no insects, the amenities are great, the community is great, and they even hold community events that are held at multiple common locations. All the staff are great, especially Kaitlin, she is an exceptional member support specialist because she was kind and responded within 24-72 hours. Whether you are in a room with a private bathroom or not, common living is a great choice for you.

I had many issues moving in and many delays which is why I’m leaving 3 stars. However, Leah, who showed me the place and addressed many of my concerns made this A LOT easier. Any issue I had she always replied to my messages or calls and helped me out! Literally would not have gotten through if it weren’t for her continuous help.

Awesome experience! I thought we’d wait for so many days for our parking request but Frances was very responsive, encountered log in problem in between as well but no sweat, she got it :) good job!

Stay far, far away. I could write a whole essay about the awful experiences I've had but will do my best to summarize:
Room filthy upon move-in with previous tenant's toenail clippings on the floor. They chalked it up to administrative error where they didn't know I was coming that day.
Horrible construction noise outside that they failed to warn me about.
Broken windows that would not close fully--took a month to get fixed and even now are still not fully fixed which lets a ton of the construction noise in.
And the current situation I'm dealing with right now: I'm trying to transfer to another one of their properties to escape the loud construction and their transfer agent is ghosting me over text and I can't get in touch with anyone over phone or email. Their phone line is now "emergencies only" and the best they can do is tag someone in my case file which has not been getting me any more help or responses than usual.
I saw the bad reviews when I first was looking into Common and I kind of wrote them off. PLEASE do not make the same mistake I made. There is nothing they could write in any of the review responses that would make me change my mind or ever recommend this company.
If anyone from Common is reading this, please reach out! I just emailed you at members@common and transfers@common today and will be emailing you daily until I get some help with this. Do not tell me to reach out over email because I am already doing so.
