Very happy.

I've bought from them (direct from their website) a couple of times, both times they were refurbed units, and they were very clearly advertised as such.

Both times the experience has been faultless, and at a very good price. I would highly, highly recommend them to just about anyone.

Would definitely use again

I was a bit nervous about buying from Compadvance after reading some of the other reviews, but they were selling HP Renew laptops at a very good price, so thought I'd give them a go.
Had an excellent experience. The website has detailed pictures of the laptops. Computer arrived in HP Renew packaging, in excellent condition (I couldn't see any of the scratches mentioned).
It turned out I had accidentally bought a French version of the laptop (with an AZERTY keyboard). Compadvance gave excellent customer service and paid for the item to be returned, then sent me a replacement out by next day delivery when they received it back. Good communication throughout.
Logging into the computer I can confirm from the HP Support Assistant that it is covered by the HP Warranty. Again the computer is in perfect condition, and looks brand new. Excellent for a 45% saving off the price of a new machine.
I would definitely use Compadvance again. Felt I should write this review as my experience was so positive compared to so many of the other reviews here.

Not a recommended experience

I recently placed an order with Compadvance for a "new in open box" Chromebook. In their description, it stated that the item may show slight signs of having been handled for testing, but the item and all accessories would be new.
When it arrived, the Chromebook had some large marks on the font of the case (as though the screen had been removed for repair), there was dirt embedded abound the edge of the screen, which I can only assume is through extended use. All of the accessories were unwrapped and marked. I did not even start the Chromebook up, but I immediately contacted them for a return.
It has so far taken over a week for Compadvance to accept the return, and they are trying every little trick that they can to wriggle out of refunding me my money. That are insisting that it is my own fault that they sent me a used product instead of a "new in open box" item, and now they are putting the item through for "testing", when I have made it clear that the return is because the item was not as they described, If this carries on, I will be taking this matter further. In the meantime, I would urge any potential customers to avoid this company, since they cannot even adhere to the basics of consumer law.

Very impressed

This was my first purchase of a refurbished as new desktop PC as I was apprehensive about doing so. I placed the order on 11th July and the PC arrived on the morning of 13th. The communications were excellent and product is definitely as new, no marks whatsoever, and working perfectly. I had a couple of small queries over the serial number and warranty but these were very quickly confirmed by Kyle and now all sorted. Excellent value.

Printer purchase from CompAdvance Ltd

I purchased a printer from this company in a bit of a rush. It was only after I placed the order and paid that I took the time to read reviews of other peoples experiences. There were quite a few worrying examples and, I have to say, I was left with an expectation of problems to come...
However, my printer arrived when expected and is, seemingly, the brand-new printer I paid for.
My experience was good.

advertised As new but was refurbished. Bought a laptop advertised as new box opened for inspection but brand new. When it arrived I noticed the version of windows on the laptop was windows for "refurb PC" contacted seller. who told me that thats how they come from factory and because the scratch panel was un-scratched that was evidence this was a factory item even though the description, the box and the information booklet said windows S and this was a freshly installed replacement. the box also had a certified wiped label to verify that this was done for data protection and not a factory line item only opened for inspection. Seller tried to avoid my concerns by omitting information and dancing around the point talking about the new sticker and not addressing the version. I would recommend avoiding at all costs I would be very dubious about any warranties implied, as this seller had in my case deliberately and intentionally miss sold me the product. This company deals with refurbished models and clearly very aware of the difference.

PERFECT 'new other' High end phone

I have been holding off writing a review for quite a few months (June purchase) to be sure there weren't any horrible hidden elements. I bought an £800 phone listed as 'new other'. I was nervous but wanted the saving in price. The (properly packaged) box arrived with a bunch of extra stickers. All of the security stickers were intact. The box itself was PERFECT - I was nervous that it'd look like it'd been kicked around a warehouse - it didn't. The phone inside was ... simply perfect, it looked *untouched by human hand*. I can see that this company is getting some horrible reviews, but I had a perfect phone that arrived safely and had NO imperfections. From my perspective, I'd recommend them.

Safe and trustworthy

I bought a refurbished laptop with some reservations because I had not heard of compadvance before, but I thought I might as well go for it. Laptop arrived on time exactly as described and the foreign keyboard was no problem as I was just able to install a british one straight away. I had a small problem with the new device but customer service was great as Kyle got in touch quickly and did his best to help me out. They have a 30 day no questions return policy so if you decide the device was not right for you you can send it back which Kyle reiterated when he emailed me. I saved a lot of money going with compadvance over somewhere like Curry's and I think the customer service is a lot better than the big chains anyways.

I bought a computer from CompAdvance, and when it played up they let me down BADLY

I bought a computer from CompAdvance under the HP Renew scheme - it looked like a good value deal, and wasn't the first item I'd bought that way.
This computer however played up from day one, and failed completely after 3 weeks or so - so it was agreed that I send it back. CompAdvance's carrier (not mine) then 'lost' it - and it took me a month or so of almost constant badgering to get my money back.
In all that time I never had a meaningful apology, and whatever I said it was like banging my head repeatedly on the same brick wall, over and over and over again.
Then when, at far too long last, I did finally get my refund - they paid it in a way that delayed it by more than a further week: simply adding insult to injury.
I would NEVER ever again buy ANYTHING from CompAdvance, and I would strongly recommend anyone looking at this review to go elsewhere with their business - their products may sometimnes be OK - I simply don't know that - but their customer service is appalling.

Absolutely disgraceful company

Absolutely disgraceful company. They are thieves liars and totally disgusting individuals at this company. I will NEVER use this company against risk of loosing more money for no service and pure lies from them.
Emil and Kyle in particular are very good at misrepresenting this company and taking your money and refusing to respond to requests made under the Sale of Goods Act 1979. And when this is pointed out proceed to ignore you because they think they can get away with this, leading me to now report them to Trading Standards as my final option. They refuse refunds and provide nothing under the requirements of SoGA 1979 when you request it.
They are liars, yes Kyle and Emil YOU and Compadavace Ltd, you are dishonest, you are an unfit company and a disgrace. Now refuse to communicate and believe they are with in their rights to not provide customer service or refunds

Took back great deal and offered a worse one

Ordered laptop and funds taken from credit card. A few days later when item was due to be received, I checked to see the item was still ordered but funds had been put back on card.

I emailed and they responded. Apparently there was a "technical issue" and the laptop was out of stock but they offered similar (lower spec) items at about 20-50% increase in cost.

I've seen this shady practice before where a company will offer a great deal only to rescind it and hope you're desperate enough to take a worse one. But at least they returned my money.

Dear Matt , at that period we had technical failure , our servers were down for days, not syncing nor updating any products. There was plenty of errors on the website and sadly we had to cancel all those orders, offering only available products, not necessary in promo. All job was made manually working from homes in addition. This is not a company practice and we really care for customers. You can check our reviews on portals where our customers are leaving they own reviews (ebay or reviews.co.uk) , its 99% + happy customers . For what happen to you and others in August I can only apologize and offer you a better spec (same grade and brand laptop) for £40 less at the moment . The poorest experience I’ve ever had…

The poorest experience I’ve ever had ordering anything online (and I order a lot).

I don’t like writing bad reviews. Like most, if not all other customers, I simply want good service and a good quality product. Then I can post a positive review. Simple.

In this regard, Compadvance couldn’t be worse.

Here’s the summary:

I ordered an item. Email comes with confirmation of postage, but they clearly didn’t have the item in stock. They admitted this over the phone and apologised.

They promised to send it to me via express mail immediately thereafter, but never did (despite asking for a tracking number dozens of times) and then fobbed me off with all kinds of stories about warehouses, suppliers, shippers, delays, etc.

I asked for a refund. They haven’t paid me back. It’s been well over a month.

How hard can it be to simply issue a refund and apology?

I’ll be following this up legally.

I bought a monitor in good faith and it turned out to be anything but as described

I bought a monitor in good faith through their ebay outlet it was described as having minor scuff/scratches to the frame/ case when in fact there was a major gash to the screen panel. So in effect they are selling items not as described. When you return them, they are then hiding behind covid 19, stating that returned items need to be quarantined for 2 days before they'll process the refund. This isn't good enough!! if you as an organisation have made the decision to carry on trading during this situation which in reality is likely to last for several more months you cannot hide behind it as way of delaying paying customers their money back for faulty /damaged goods ..in short don't bother with them use Amazon !!

Dear Robert , You have purchased ex display monitor , in product description we have shown its real pics and mentioned defects. This was reflected in 40% discount . I am really not sure what else we could do to make you happy. There is only 1 week passed from the purchase date to the full refund you received. In this time we manage to ship the item to you , get it back, protect people lives by stopping potential virus spread , test and refund . All this working from homes . Is this really that bad ? Well good luck , hope you found better deal on Amazon , always worth to try and compare with others.

Waste of time, Defective product; False stock listing; blocking negative ebay feedback;

Poor product
- delays in return/replacement
- mean spirited company
- blocking negative feedback on ebay by cancelling a delivered order!

I purchased a "HP refurbished" desktop computer on Ebay in mid December but was then contacted by the seller advising the item was no longer available and offered to upsell me a more expensive item; which I reluctantly decided to do as I was in urgent need of a replacement desktop computer and they would not offer to upgrade for free / match the sale price I had paid for their false listing. The sale of goods act comes to mind.

The more expensive computer arrived with a slight delay and customer service at the time seemed helpful; it looked beautiful and seemed fast however when I booted up the machine it quickly had a fundamental error and crashed locking me out and I was unable to even wipe my confidential information off for the return process. I contacted customer support who attempted to help resolve the issue over another 3 days of wiping and rebooting but the machine would not work so I agreed a return; 7 days later they came back saying it was going off for repair of the HDD and would i like to purchase a MORE EXPENSIVE model as a replacement?

So ultimately I purchased a machine, attempted to use it and over 3 weeks later got refunded for my trouble and I'm still without a working machine.

So thanks to the helpful customer service team but ..

Bad Bad Bad attitude! Whoever decides on these issues is mean spirited Scotsman confirming that ultimately they are more tight than a Yorkshireman!

We are unable to block any feedback neither here nor on ebay , product faulty has been replaced , we offered alternatives higher tier models with better quality and spec for very discounted price as we had no more of the same units available ,we just tried to give you an options including manufacturer repair which usually take up to 1 week where all faulty parts would be replaced to brand new one and full system widely diagnosed . Once refused we have processed your refund without further delays . Does not songs mean to me , I am sorry.
I am sorry it turns this way you still without machine. Please also be assured we have nothing against Yorkshire and people living there , we actually think very opposite ! ot sure where u got this assumption , well , this leaving for you.
Please check our all feedbacks on ebya or reviews.co.uk , those are the platforms we using to collect and better reflect who we are and what we really do , 99% + is our standard and minimum requirement fro feedback rate.

purchase from comp advance

I purchased a laptop after reading reviews from this website. I can only praise them highly for their service so far. the website gave you reminders as to what you were purchasing, I was kept informed about the delivery and it arrived within 2 working days. I rang them for a question and they were very helpful. the product is fine so far. I would not hesitate to recommend them from m y experience so far.

Excellent cs.

Although I cancelled my order due to a change of mind, the customer service I received was excellent which is why I wanted to write this review.

Called earlier today to cancel & didn't get an answer due to them being busy / at lunch. 10mins later my phone rings & it was someone from CompAdvance returning my call.
I had no issues cancelling the order & my refund via Paypal was done within 30mins of hanging up the phone.

Good refurbished computers at low prices.

Ordered a refurbished all in one PC from here. It arrived on time and in perfect condition. I've been using it for a couple of days now and haven't encountered any problems. I expected there to be at least one based on how cheap it was but I was pleasantly surprised!

I had read the other trustpilot reviews before deciding to take a chance on a relatively low-res company. I don't regret that decision at all.
