Opened a savings account online and it…

Opened a savings account online and it was pretty quick and easy. I was able to connect to my other bank to transfer funds without needing to dig up the account number and instead just connect the accounts which saved me some time. Once you open the account, you can add a second person to the account or a beneficiary. You can also order a free debit card for the savings account which is great because I am not anywhere near a branch and I need cash every once in awhile for the kids' allowance!

On line banking.

On line banking.

The system is old and tired, and constantly times out or terminates.

And COB constantly requires text confirmation.

I would guess they rotate passwords every six weeks for some reason.

Recently, a deposit was lost, and the correspondence with the bank regarding the lost items was very time consuming. personnel are polite, but the process does not enable them to be helpful. It is very frustrating to get someone with authority on the phone . Two lost checks, Two weeks later, the deposits are still unresolved.

My initial contact with the Bank branch was 7/6, and the issue has not been resolved.
Three additional phone calls, and 4 e-mails.
No resolution, but the horrible fact is the bank has not elevated the issue, and expressed real concern regarding a customers lost deposits. I expected a fiduciary type response, to identify if the issue is simply bad accounting by the branch or were the checks stolen from the bank or diverted and negotiated away from the bank.

I expected contact from the bank's fraud unit. Twelve days have elapsed, and no fiduciary response.

Excessive demands for phone text verification

Had to close newly opened savings account. They offered good rate on savings accounts and I was able to open an account online, even though there was a lot of hassle with submitting scans of additional documents and calling and extra message communication with their employees, which is unusual. But next, I realized that I can not interact with this bank at all or manage the money unless every call and every login involves "text message phone verification". I'm not a teenager glued to phone and do not wish to use phone with online or phone banking. I asked them what happens if one travels overseas and has no access to their US phone number. The representative said I'd have no access to the account at all. I told him this just couldn't be true and he said he would try to find out if there any other options: after half an hour on hold he came back saying he did not find any information/none was available. I transferred my money back out and closed the account. I'm glad I didn't transfer thousands they initially demanded from me and only a small trial amount (was able to persuade them to accept that first). A lot of my time had been wasted. They need to curb their excessive and parano id security policies before a reasonable normal person can use this bank. I don't deal with that at any other bank I use.
