RUN!!

RUN!!! Do Not rent from these crooks. They will not give you a deposit back and they will not answer. All I can say is they caught the wrong one. This will be a fight in court! I leased for 6 weeks as is and not only are they attempting to steal my deposit they are charging me over 2000 for painting the house. They will not destroy my credit.

I was told once I signed my lease to…

I was told once I signed my lease to renew that I had to sign up for simple Bills so that Conrex take over my utilities by paying them. I did not agree with this but was only signing my lease to renew. They raised my rent about 200 dollars more. I now have an over drafted account and my simple bills account had the incorrect spelling of my name and they got my account info from Conrex without my permission and they manually took the payment from my checking account I did not authorize. I paid all my utilities on my own without the help of Conrex. I was told I would be in violation of my agreement if I did not use Simple Bills. I paid my rent on time and yet they are threatening to evict me in breach of contract. They just started using simple bills this year and I told them I do not agree with there policy. They are using a third party to collect the utilities payments from tenants in which we are responsible for but Conrex wants us to pay it on time. I pay my bills but can not move. I have an autistic daughter and yet they are still swindling money out of tenants.

I wish I could leave no stars and still…

I wish I could leave no stars and still leave a review. I have had ongoing plumbing issues since early December. Whenever I run my washer it floods both bathrooms. Sometimes is just water, sometimes it's raw sewage. The last time, Wednesday Jan 19th it flooded with raw sewage when I ran my washing machine. I have called, created a work order, emailed, and text, to no avail. I even sent pics so they could see the disgusting way they have my 4 kids and I living. Still no plumber. We have been living in raw sewage for 5 days now. They wouldn't want to live like this. I am fed up. I wish I did more research and read reviews before signing my lease. Yelp and the BBB have people who have been slighted in one way or another by this company. I have never been late with paying rent, yet I am forced to live like this. My rent is $1365 and they get that faithfully.

Just don't do it!

RUN! DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY! We moved from out of state and arrived to a house that stank like urine and had dead roaches in every room. We had to stay in a hotel for a week and we would have to call 10-15 times a day to multiple people to even get a single person on the phone. No one answers and no one returns calls. It was listed as having a finished basement but it is actually not a basement at all but an unfinished garage (see pictures), the backyard is overgrown (see pictures.) Walls were dirty, 2 doors wouldn't close and some of them scrape the floor when opened. We asked for compensation since we spent well over $1000 as a family of 4 with 2 pets for that week and they offered $300 and when we asked to be approved for more, we were told they would have to pass it to corporate. It's been 2 weeks since the last update and before that it was a month. When we filed a complaint we were gaslit and told that there were only 3 dead roaches, the backyard is only a 'short strip of grass around the back of the home' but that they would update the listing to not include 'finished basement'. Very much seems that the standard model is to ignore you until you give up. Why don't you count the roaches and see how many you can find? Please, save yourself the headache and look elsewhere! Even if the house you rent is not in this condition, the company itself is the biggest pain in the butt to deal with.

One of the most unprofessional…

One of the most unprofessional Companies to deal with. I have inquired about several homes to lease. I had an appointment and traveled over an he. To see a house back in September, 2021. I received an code to be able to view house. Never would allow me excess to enter. Called the office all you get is a answering service. Keep telling me to try again later. I waited almost 3 hrs. Still couldn’t get in to view house.
Called about viewing 2 others with this company. They have yet to respond to my calls!!!!!
Terrible Company. Don’t even try with them. Waste of time

DO NOT Rent from Conrex

DO NOT Rent from Conrex. I am appalled with how their management team spoke to me. I was told they do not care if I move and I am a great tenant that pays to have repairs done to the home and my rent is always on time. Conrex has moved to using Simple Bills to pay all utilities. This is causing all of my accounts, water, electric etc.. to be put in Conrex's name. You have no right to call about or manage you service and they are going to charge a monthly fee. After renting from them for years this is how you are treated. Please be careful and do not use this company.

If I can write a review without giving a star I would.. Worst company to rent from. I had schedule tours, drove from Georgia to South Carolina and the first house I went to view there was no lockbox on the door, I couldn’t get through to nobody. The second house I was in love with. I applied for both. After paying a $90 app fee I was told they couldn’t verify my income, but my fiancé’s income was great. The next day I got a message saying the house was unavailable. I was trying to get in touch with someone about the first house I couldn’t view because of no lockbox.. Poor communication with these people. Left messages and no response. What was my app fee used for if they couldn’t get pass the income verification so they didn’t do credit nor background check. How are they allowing multiple people apply for the same house and taking app fees and the whole time it’s processing to someone else. I want a full refund so I can pay another agency.

Shady to the highest power

Ok here it is in a nut shell. We rented the home we currently live in for a year and 4 months before Conrex secretly changed management of the home to Vinebrook. Why I don't know it was we went from having a property office with live personnel to to a company that all you do is Email and sit around and wait and hope that someone responds with a brain. Yes I'm naming all parties involved. One day out the blue we get an email state the home is no longer managed by them and we have to pay our rent to a company named Vinebrook. No warning on nothing. Well vinebrook anit no better they want answer any questions about our deposit our refundable pet fee. Any preexisting work orders. No nothing I really feel like they are in it together. Conrex pulled a number on us and any one looking to rent from them needs to Run and keep Running

I do not recommend renting from Conrex

I do not recommend renting from Conrex. The home that was rented to us was disgusting when we arrived with our belongings. In addition to finding the place very dirty, there was also an insect infestation. When these issues were brought to Conrex's attention, they were quick to refuse to take any action and very dismissive in their reply. There was no accountability even for the state of the rental upon moving in. We will not be renewing our lease, as we have learned our lesson with this company.

That’s my first time writing a review

That’s my first time writing a review. That’s my 3 days in this house and it’s a nightmare already. We lived in Michigan so we were not able to see the house in person . We did everything online. We come to get the keys 05-21-2021 and that day I almost cry for what I did , chose this company. The house was dirty and disgusting. They didn’t cleaned before we moved in. I’m officially move in to this house 3 days ago 06-04-2021 and it’s a nightmare. The carpet look they didn’t change in 10 years . I’m been shampoo and it’s disgusting everything come out. I can’t wait till this year is over . I will cry every single day for the decision to pick this company. If you need proof of I have bunch of video and pictures how disgusting it is.Don’t ever think about this company

we didn’t have issues while living at…

we didn’t have issues while living at our property for 2 years. they fixed everything that we requested for maintenance. but their move out process is extremely unprofessional. They will tell you that they allow “wear and tear.” but they don’t. They charged us $1500 for repainting even though we repainted 3 rooms ourselves upon move out. And mind you, we did it because of reading horrible reviews and knowing that they screw people over on charges. Anything that would’ve needed repainting in our home
would fall under normal wear & tear but they considered it damage. Please do not rent from them unless you want to pay a huge chunk of money when you move out.

I’ve been attempting to rent a property…

I’ve been attempting to rent a property that’s been on the market for a month, mainly because it’s like $400/m overpriced. We are selling our home currently and offered a years worth of rent because we know our credit isn’t the best. I had one collections (that I paid off immediately after finding out I had it) and they still won’t even consider it and I’ve even offered more than the rent/month is just to have a place to live. They don’t work with potential tenants at all and their customer service is awful.

Conrex has been nothing but a headache…

Conrex has been nothing but a headache since they took over as the landlords at this property. First trying to charge us cause they didn’t have all their paperwork together from taking over this property from the previous landlord to now the basement is flooding due to back up water from the faulty sump pump they tell us that they don’t do anything for “unfinished” basements and telling us we need to pay for a plumber ourselves or they can send theirs and they charge it to our rent like who does that?!! We have kids the water keeps rising sump pump isn’t working so now not only is everything of ours in the basement ruined, now we have to worry about mold rust and now the ac isn’t working properly nor the water heater, we’ve called several times but never get a call back set up maintenance requests and they cancel it. We never got their version of the lease but to tell us they won’t take care of their kids property they own and it’s on us is complete bs the ppl we talk to in customer service sound like complete goofballs and have no clue what’s going on sent complaints and everything yet I’m sure when the first hits they’ll be sending reminders to pay rent. Then I’m sure they’ll find a bs way to keep our deposit.. if you need a place find a private landlord anyone just please DONT RENT FROM CON REX PROPERTIES THEY SUCK!! Their maintenance ppl are full of it, rude, most are incompetent to begin with and will take forever. They come out “assess” things then give con Rex a quote then they’ll schedule it to be fixed nothing is a simple fix with these ppl!! We are still waiting for y’all to come fix this house!!!!

I will never deal with company again in…

I will never deal with company again in my life I’m so happy to be at the end of my lease.
I’ve been stuck in mice infested home for a year forced to pay Orkin out of pocket and talk about cheap up keep there is mildew on multiple walls , oh and the maintenance man is a joke, his famous words is I’ll be right back , anyways save yourself a head ache do not rent from these people

DO NOT EVEN!

I wish that there was a place to press a 0 for rating because this company is very unprofessional. I reside in a property now owned by Conrex and I am going to be very transparent by saying that they DO NOT CARE about their residents. I have always paid my rent on time since moving in on November 03, 2020. You can never get in contact with the property manager. It's always a person working from home who contacts you about an issue but communicates that they have no knowledge of how to contact the property manager. Really? It's sad that I have turned in my walkthrough form in November but have no idea who I turned it in to and why no one has responded to the need for repairs. RIDICULOUS! However, that reminder comes each month to let me know that rent is due on the first. NO COMMUNICATION FROM ANYONE ELSE. WHO IS THE PROPERTY MANAGER? THIS COMPANY IS THE WORST. DO NOT APPLY OR PATRONIZE THEM!

How can they team up with a low down company like simplebills they charge 10.95 a month for their services and only 3.95 a month in North Carolina they then stated in an email that they don’t resell power if you read their terms and conditions they plainly state they resell power look I was already buying power I don’t need or ever ever want to buy it from a company that’s gonna make me pay more

I just found out the conrex sold out to…

I just found out the conrex sold out to vinebrook and I was never notified at all about this happening. I found vinebrook paperwork in my mail saying that took over my lease. I'm pretty sure they had to notify their renters. I'm not sure what to do from here. I'm not sure if I need to pay conrex or if I pay vinebrook. I'm beyond mad. Conrex wasn't a good company they hardly ever come out and fixed our water issue. They put a bandaid on a leaking roof. Dont ever go thru them.

Unacceptable service on day 0

Unacceptable service on day 0. I submitted an application and it took over two weeks for an agent to be assigned to my properties (after they had already been taken off the market).

Three weeks later on my move in date, an inspection was complete but the city could not turn on the water because apparently the meter was running.

The lockbox with the key to the property I finally was approved for, was removed from the property and I could not enter the house on my move in date, requiring me to stay in a hotel another night. With remaining property to move in, it will now be difficult to complete personal plans which were hinged on gaining entry on the agreed date.

Conrex, when you are able to reach them, are moderately helpful. I was accommodated early entry to drop items off but still could not reside until utilities were turned on—understandable.

Keep away from Conrex

Had squirrels literally living in the walls and the last month of our stay the squirrel bustes through my wall. Also during the covid-19 lock in, they let rent slide, but then without a letter or anything, gave us a eviction notice and then preceded to make us pay for the lawyers they hired against us. Look for better property rentals, someone who doesn't actively try and rip you off every second

Withholds Refunds

We rented from them for around 2 years, and this is one of the most poorly managed companies we have ever dealt with. In multiple instances, an overpayment occurred because of technology issues with their site, Clickpay. After the first overpayment, we were given a refund directly to our account. During the second instance, we were told we would have to wait 7-10 business days by Ms. Jhontel Bryant for a check to arrive, which was already ridiculous since the check was for over $1700 and it was due to a technology error on their part. After waiting around 12-15 business days, we received a notice that our account had been submitted to a debt collection agency when CONREX owed US over $1700 and they told us they had started the refund process. We spoke with them after receiving the notice and they had to restart the refund process all over again. They did not seem to care AT ALL that they were withholding a large sum of money. Additionally, their fees upon move-out were ridiculously exorbitant. My suggestion is to find a different company to rent from, or to find a way to pay via check/money order because their online payment system is a joke.
