They are filthy scam artists
They are filthy scam artists. Ignore it. Marcus Schmitt is a violent child molester
I noticed a pattern: Copytrack, Concept-Production and YAY Images
It is important to also review their so-called clients. Most of Copytracks false claims come from the same source, such as Concept-Production or YAY Images, so make sure to share your experience with them too. They can be found here on Trustpilot.
I keep receiving false, misleading copyright claims from Copytrack. We rightfully obtain all images we use on our website from well respected stockphoto agencies. The allegations made by Copytrack and their request for licenses are baseless. I don't have to send them anything, as they don't have any right to inspect our files. Copytrack just tries to intimidate, hoping the receivers will pay their bogus claims.
I received a mail claiming an copyright infringement
I received a mail claiming an infringement demanding me to pay over 900 $. The image is an image that is included in my Canva License. Although th mail seemed serious and legit, I am quit sure this company acts as a scam and should be closed down.
This Company is a fraud
This Company is a fraud; they keep sending "unauthorised image use" emails. We have a license to use the images on our website, yet they keep sending the emails. Beware of them. Don't pay them, you will end up losing your money.
Absolute scum
Absolute scum, bottom feeders. Trying to steal people's money by sending threatening emails. Don't pay them.
A tip - send emails on to iStock or Getty
I just wanted to add a tip for anyone who is being harassed by this company, especially if you bought images from iStock or another Getty photo library.
I received several emails with huge financial demands from Copytrack. I did look for the invoice from iStock for the image, which was about 13 years old I think and couldn't find it.
I went to my iStock account but you had to contact them for such old invoices. As I had to do an email anyway, I told them about Copytrack.
They asked me for the email from Copytrack very quickly and, a few days later, I have just received an email from iStock with a copy email from Copytrack saying the "case" is closed and it's all sorted.
5 stars to iStock and Getty for dealing with this - and I highly recommend you let them deal with it if you can!
I had the same issue with these…
I had the same issue with these scammers. What to ask for to shut them up for good?
*copyright registration
*original RAW file with EXIF metadata
*chain of title
*evidence of exclusive rights
This company should be prosecuted
3 x last year and now again under the new guise "rights-defend" this company has falsely claimed I was using unlicensed copyright protected images. This company is a disgrace and should be shutdown.
Watch out
Watch out! This company is involved in fraud. They make false claims for image licenses and issue fines that are not legitimate. Always report to the police.
Concerning Experience With Copytrack’s Claim Practices
My company was contacted by Copytrack regarding an image on our website. They claimed the image belonged to a company called Concept-Production in Germany and alleged that we had no valid license. They further demanded a payment of nearly €1,000, despite providing no legal documentation or evidence supporting their claim of ownership.
In our case, the image in question was licensed legitimately through our Shutterstock account and is owned by Bondart Photography, a Ukrainian entity—not the party Copytrack claimed to represent. Rather than supplying proof of ownership themselves, Copytrack repeatedly pressed us to prove that we held a license, even though the burden of proof should reasonably rest with the party making the accusation.
Only after I provided a screenshot from within our Shutterstock account did Copytrack send what appeared to be a generic, templated message stating that the claim had been closed. No explanation, no acknowledgment of the discrepancy, and no accountability for the incorrect claim or the stress it caused.
In my opinion, this approach feels designed to pressure organizations into paying fees they do not owe. Based on my experience, I would advise others to carefully verify all claims, request proper documentation, and not feel intimidated into paying without evidence.
COPYTRACK continues scamming activities
COPYTRACK continues on their merry scamming way!!
In November 2025 they found an image on our website which we first published in 2014 and which was supplied to us by a university free of charge. Apparently the copyright is claimed by a company founded in 2016. There is no paperwork by the original owner of the image other than documents made up by this scammer pretending that the "Cedent was entitled to raise claims for damages". No mention even of who the original owner is. So - no. We won't be paying their fines.
Beware: Harassment and False Copyright Claims
I was harassed by this company for over a year, including receiving a threatening letter from Higbee & Associates claiming they would take me to court. After an exhausting amount of searching, I finally located the original Shutterstock license proving I had every right to use the image.
Despite doing nothing wrong, I was subjected to months of stress, scare tactics, and unnecessary intimidation. I also use Canva, so it took a long time to track down the original source—time I should never have had to spend.
In my opinion, this company operates like a scam, and I truly hope no one else has to go through what I did.
Absolute scam artists
Absolute scam artists. If you get something from theme delete and block. Do not click on links and do not reply. Trying to take advantage of people who legit have the rights to use images with intimidation tacks - completely disgusting company.
Preying on others
We have rights to an image through Adobe. Why do we need to prove it to this company working for Yayimages? Adobe knows we can use their image.
Very aggressive. Extortionist. The worst kind of company.
Persistent Harassment Over Unproven Copyright Claim
I’ve had a very negative experience with Copytrack. They contacted me demanding payment for an alleged copyright infringement, yet have repeatedly ignored my requests to provide proof of ownership or any legitimate license information from the supposed rights holder. Instead of addressing my questions, they continued sending payment demands, which feels like a pressure tactic rather than a proper legal process.
In my opinion, their approach is aggressive, unhelpful, and seems designed to scare people into paying without proper verification. I feel their actions are not professional or trustworthy. This feels like bulk targeting in the hope that someone will comply.
I would give zero stars if I could
I would give zero stars if I could! This company is highly dubious and uses tactics that remind me of extortion. At worst they are copyright trolls themselves, and at worst they facilitate copyright trolls. Report them to the FTC and even to FBI for cyber crime and scams. They try to extort money from people and business for using images that are in the public domain/Creative Commons.
Terrible experience
Terrible experience. This company has reached out to mine multiple times claiming a copyright infringement on a document we have licensing for. It's fraudulent practices and attempts to collect money are egregious.
This website is a scam
This website is a scam - they have written scripts to automatically send thousands of emails to website owners claiming their copyright has been infringed and want you to pay to solve it. Do not reply, it's a pure scam.
They send legal claims for photos on…
They send legal claims for photos on behalf of companies, that actually do not own the licens to the actual photos. They accuse You of not having proof of license, at the same time, as they do not them want to proof, that they have legal right from owner to do so :-(
November 5 Update - Copytrack & YayImages
This is an update to my last two experiences with Copytrack. They've changed their tune and now claim ownership of the image I already told them twice was public domain usage in 2013. And now they are claiming their client has been "damaged."
I'm not responding to this crap or anything else from them. Three weeks of berating me about showing licensing and NOW they claim the image belongs to YayImages? Uh, no.
