Absolutely disgusting
Absolutely disgusting. Had to stop at Costa in Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire whilst I waited for my wife. I had a coffee and a chicken and bacon toastie. The chicken and bacon toastie was absolutely disgusting.
If I could upload a picture I would, but it just looked like a baby had vomited between two pieces of bread. It looked vile and it smelt vile, I just drank my coffee and left. The last time I had a bad experience at Costa, was in January and that was the last time I went to them.
Nothing has improved, despite the shocking feedback that everybody leaves here. I can’t imagine Costa has long left with that kind of food and service.

Very disappointed to order a cheese and tomato toastie, to find it was tomato paste not an actual tomato. I wouldn't have ordered it had i known
Love it
Its a great place to sit and relax especially the one in Tallaght, love the Iced Caramel Frappé, only €5.95 the one in Starbucks is €7.40 well cheaper and better, love it

Both Hadis and Khushman are super stars. We come quite regularly and they are super sweet, kind, patient. Excellent customer service.
Visited the Costa at Rochford Airport…
Visited the Costa at Rochford Airport BP Southend and left with a parking fine for overstaying by 13 minutes. The reason? I waited over 15 minutes for my order to be made.
Costa operate a tablet system at the till that allows customers to register their vehicle and extend their stay but staff made no attempt to inform me of this during my visit, despite the delay in serving me.
When I complained, Costa initially denied having any influence over the parking operator. They then admitted in writing that they previously intervened directly with the operator on customers’ behalf but have since stopped doing so as a matter of policy. Draw your own conclusions.
I provided proof of purchase, raised the service delay, and escalated to a Team Leader. Costa’s position throughout was that responsibility rests entirely with the driver. Apparently that includes responsibility for delays caused by their own staff.
I won’t be returning to this or any other Costa. Not because of the fine but because of how this was handled.

Zero stars- ordered e-gift card for friend -not received, however money taken from account straight away. The same person received multiple e-gift cards from other shops- no issues, except Costa. It's day number 3 and I still don't have e-gift card which I pay for!
What has happened to Costa toast?
Why does Costa only toast one side when you get toast. Some always toast both sides others only EVER toast one side. That’s not toast!
I love Costa but this was just a joke…
I love Costa but this was just a joke over 15 minute wait for an iced coffee staff talking laughing at making several mistakes to their customers then I got my drink and did not try it immediately as was now running late but the drink was disappointing they had used the wrong milk and not put any syrup in I had requested what a total waste of almost £5
Second visit same grime
Went to Costa Hartlepool for the second time this month and could not believe how bad it is. The tables are filthy and need a good steam clean, the spoons they give you to stir your drinks with still have remnants of food on them and are unclean and unfit for purpose. Expensive and over hyped and over rated on the food hygiene standards, it states 5 for hygiene on the door as you walk in, ignore this it is clearly out of date and not valid. I would save your money and go elsewhere.

Rude staff been spoken to like crap with a situation I had and then asked to speak to a manager but didn't get in contact with me staff are not tactful at all asking personal questions just rude Costa has always been my favorite coffee shop but now after 15+years it's time to have a change find somewhere else
Brilliant experience
All staff really goid and Natalie in particular at your Marchfield Way store in Weston-super-Mare is brilliant. Funny, charming, helpful and definately goes above and beyond to make customers feel welcome. It was not just us, she was super friendly to every customer and her colleagues. I had a tea and my friend a latte. The drinks were piping hot and flavourful.
Praise for Abdul
I go to Costa coffee at Southampton general hospital 3 or 4 times a week for approx 6 hours at a time, the best thing about it is a staff member called Abdul (supervisor) hes always smiling no matter what is going on in his personal life, if Costa had a drink making competition he would win, he's so friendly and helpful when I heard he made supervisor I was not surprised if I have a complaint he sorts it out. I never give anything or anyone 5 stars because nothing is perfect there is no such thing but I give Abdul 4. 9 and a half stars I wish all Costa staff are like him he's a true asset to the company.

don't understand why are they still so popular. mediocre to bad coffee, often unprofessional staff and atmosphere of a train station inside.

Refused an iced coffee as it was ‘too far’ for the staff member to walk to fetch the ice ‘on her own’ still waiting for a resolution from the MOTO franchise
Birmingham airport
Birmingham airport - staff in Costa coffee . Very rude . They should not have this career if they can’t provide a polite customer service.
Staff Treated Customers Differently – Why?
I visited your Costa Hyde branch in the afternoon on 9 May 2026.
I ordered two drinks, one of which was an iced matcha. The drink tasted more like iced milk, with very little matcha flavour. However, this was a minor issue compared with the poor customer service I experienced.
There was a member of staff wearing glasses, who I believe may have been the supervisor, as well as a younger member of staff whom I had not seen before.
I had already been waiting in the queue for some time while another customer was being served by the staff member wearing glasses. During that time, I briefly stepped away to look at the cakes and then returned to the counter area to continue waiting.
At that point, the younger member of staff began serving customers. As a few more customers had just arrived, he told me that I needed to join the back of the queue. I explained that I had already been waiting there earlier.
The staff member wearing glasses appeared to realise what had happened, but he did not step in to clarify the situation to the new staff member or apologise. Instead, he continued chatting and laughing with another customer, who was then served ahead of me while I was left waiting. No apology or acknowledgement was offered.
I found the entire experience disrespectful and disappointing. I have lived in Hyde since 1999, and today’s experience unfortunately reflected a broader feeling I have sometimes experienced as a British national of Chinese background. Regardless of a customer's background, all customers should be treated with basic fairness, courtesy, and professionalism.
Went to the Kirkham store whilst out…
Went to the Kirkham store whilst out with family today. The 2 baristas John and George were friendly polite and efficient. I love people watching and they both engaged with all the customers. The shop was clean and tidy. The 2 lads had to apologise as they had run out of skimmed milk and explained they were waiting for a delivery. I ordered 2 coffees sat at a table near the counter and the drinks were brought to us. Brilliant service
THERE WAS A CIGARETTE IN MY COFFEE.
On 22 October 2025 I purchased a Caramel Signature Latte from the Costa drive-through at Moto Cherwell Valley services. The drink tasted unusual so I never finished it. I left the cup in my car overnight — the vehicle was unoccupied and I do not smoke. The following morning I poured the remainder out and a cigarette butt fell from the cup.
I reported the incident formally to both Costa and Moto. Costa acknowledged and passed my details to Moto. Moto conducted an internal investigation, concluded there was "no evidence" the object came from their premises, and offered £30 in in-app vouchers. I rejected this and requested a proper refund, goodwill compensation, a written apology, and disclosure of CCTV and food safety logs relevant to my order.
Moto stopped responding. It is now over six months since this incident. I have received no refund, no compensation, no meaningful apology, and no genuine explanation of how this happened. The complaint has been dismissed at every level.
It has been my experience when visiting…
It has been my experience when visiting any Costa Coffee Shop the staff very rarely smile, say hello or make me feel welcome. Yesterday, in Hednesford Costa, the girl taking my order didn't even look at me. The Burntwood Costa the girls know me and are lovely. However, when a new person starts l am treated with total disinterest. I've worked Customer Service for 45 years and the first thing l do when I greet a customer is Smile 😃 it's not rocket science. Please train your staff to smile 😃
