Costa coffee Newport sainsbury's first…

Costa coffee Newport sainsbury's first visit last week.
Most of the tables were covered with dishes, which resulted with uncleaned tables.
2 lattes were ordered the waiting time was very long. The lattes were luke warm and watery.
Absolutely terrible service 🙄 I shall not bother going back to that coffee shop in a hurry.

Was violently ill after visiting a local Costa

I went to a local Costa Coffee, which is never 100% clean - especially the tables. 🤷‍♀️

One member of staff never wears his (very small) apron properly and covers about 70% of it with his T-shirt. I’ve sometimes see him messing around with the bottom of his T-shirt - on one occasion near his ‘privates’ !!!! Goodness knows how many germs this man is passing on to the food/equipment ???? 🤢

The last time I went to this cafe, just a few hours after having eaten, I was violently sick and had very bad diarrhoea. I also fainted THREE times, at home, in the space of two hours !!!! 😢

I will NEVER, EVER visit this Costa again. The lack of adherence to cleanliness, by the staff, has put me right off eating here.🤢

Does anyone from Environmental Health ever visit these places, and do swab tests of the equipment etc.🤔.

Costa Coffee . (Northenden branch)

Went to the Costa coffee in Northenden today with my elderly mum. There were 2 young ladies serving . I must say we did not feel very welcome, neither of them smiled or said hello,it seemed to much effort for them. However, we ordered 2 cheese toasties, 2 Tiffin cakes and 2 regular cappuccinos, the food was ok , I asked for a knife and fork and was given these which was still dirty with food stains on, I asked for a replacement and although the server was looking at them and gave us replacements, I still yet again had to ask for a second replacement as there was food still on the cutlery. The server then offered us take away cutlery. I replied no thank you I want real ones with no other persons food still attached to them . I eventually did get a clean set with no apology. Another customer then told me that she had to return her knife as it was filthy. This coffee shop does have a rating of 5. So I am hoping that this is a one off. But a bit of training for this 2 assistants in customer service would be a great advantage .. on a positive note: the disabled toilets was clean, the counter and display of products were good.

Bad coffee and bad service …

Bought a vionof chai latte today at the Weston Super Mare store. It doesn't taste of anything except hot milk so I decided to ask if I could have it remade. The staff were rude and argumentative. The manager finally put a shot in it but it still tastes awful. Lost a customer today and any respect I might have had for your brand. Luckily there's plenty of other coffee shops in Weston.

Costa Coffee , Barking , disgraceful

Costa : Station Parade , Barking : Very poor — ordered a toasted all-day breakfast promoted as to inclusion of egg , bacon and sausage . The portion of scrambled egg was the size of a kid’s fingernail with no advertised sausages . I returned to the counter amiably and explained that the merchandise was not , as advertised , and asked for it to be replaced or refunded .The manageress became vociferous and suggested company policy was never , ever to refund and any like-for-like replacement could be much the same . I suggested instead a replacement sandwich which she would not countenance. No apology , no customer service inclination . In the end , begrudgingly, she handed over a refund of £5.80 in the smallest denominations of 10p and 20p pieces possible . My accompanying coffee was cold by then. A thorough disgrace — some serious attitudinal and customer service training needed !

£100 for parking

If your coffee wasn’t expensive enough. Parking charges?

I was a customer at the Torry branch in Aberdeen. I was there for a work meeting with my boss. I got a damn £100 parking ticket.

The phone number is permanently closed. And no one responded to my emails.

Apparently they have a 90minute limit, I was there for 2 hours 9 mins.

What a joke. Ban this place. Let’s pray they rightfully go out of business. Food is gross anyways and the coffee is too much.

“Suspected Food Poisoning” City Link, Newport Road, Cardiff

City Link, Newport Road, Cardiff.

I feel so ill. Visited at 15:10 on 29th March 2026. They said they were closing early (16:00 rather than 19:00; I didn’t think nothing of it). They said they had a problem. I wonder what it could be now.
I received an Ice Mocha. I was feeling a bit bad less than an hour afterwards and now 5 hours later I feel like I’m dying.
My stomach is repeating on me something chronic. I can’t even drink water.
I so want to be sick.
I wonder if the problem was broken fridges or something because I can only conclude the milk was off or there is poor hygiene at that branch. (Shutting early for poor hygiene does not tie in with human logic so I bet it’s a mechanical hygiene issue).
I thankfully still have the left over cup and I intend to call the doctors and hand it over to the food standards agency for testing when they ask for it.

I love the Costa shop on Musselburgh…

I love the Costa shop on Musselburgh High Street, the staff are lovely, polite and really nice to be served by. My review is really a bout their Matcha Latte - I tried an iced Matcha Latte, it was awful. It had a fishy after taste and wasn't pleasant at all. I'm pretty sure it isn't meant to be like that.

Many times I’ve asked Costa to clean…

Many times I’ve asked Costa to clean their jugs however they continue to reheat oat milk in the same jug and admitted to only washing them properly once a week. There was old hot chocolate in the jog too which contains milk. Due to this causing me stomach issues I will no longer have coffee at Costa. See info below at the high risks of food poisoning when all they have to do is CLEAN THE JUG!!!! eusing the same container for oat milk without proper, thorough washing between uses can lead to bacterial growth, but it is unlikely to cause direct, acute liver damage in a healthy person. The primary risk is food poisoning, which can cause severe gastrointestinal distress.

Here is a breakdown of the risks and safety considerations:
The Risks of Improper Reusing
Bacterial Growth: Leaving oat milk residues in a container, especially if it sits out for more than two hours, allows bacteria to multiply.
Contamination: If the container isn't washed with hot water and soap between uses, bacteria from your mouth (if drinking directly) or the environment can form a biofilm, which can cause gastrointestinal illness.
Rancidity: Residues can go rancid and lead to unpleasant smells or the development of Butyric acid.

Does This Harm the Liver?
There is no evidence that contaminated oat milk specifically causes direct toxic liver damage.
Severe food poisoning can cause dehydration and put stress on the body, but it is not commonly associated with chronic liver disease.
Pre-existing Conditions: If you have a compromised immune system or pre-existing liver disease, any severe bacterial infection (food poisoning) could potentially lead to more serious complications.

How to Safely Reuse Containers
Wash thoroughly: Always wash the container with hot water and antibacterial soap between uses.
Dry completely: Allow the container to dry fully before putting new milk in to prevent mold and bacterial growth.
Consider glass: Glass containers are easier to sterilize than plastic ones, which can degrade or become porous over time.
Sniff Test: Always check for off-odors before refilling.

In summary, the concern is mainly about foodborne illness from poor hygiene, not specific organ damage to the liver.

The shop in Baillieston Glasgow was…

The shop in Baillieston Glasgow was fine but I was really shocked at the size of the drinks. My daughter bought 3 coffees and they were huge! They came in two handled bowls and you definitely needed the two handles to lift them. I felt that this amount of a milky drink was promoting over consumption of calories and was double the amount that the majority of the customers needed. It has put me off returning to this chain. I don't often use big chains for food or drink and this has reinforced my choice to use local business's.

Had to use one of these at a hospital

Had to use one of these at a hospital. We ordered a tea and a coffee . Was given a numbered ticket and waited 20 mins for 2 drinks. People all waiting for their number to be called. Gave me flashbacks from a 1980s social security office. An absolute joke. And the prices ? Ridiculous! Greedy bull crap companies.
