Looking at 272 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the customer service, finding it difficult to reach a live person and encountering unhelpful or rude staff. Reviewers also reported issues with the service in general, including problems with deliveries, installations, and the handling of gift cards for businesses that went out of business. Some customers also felt that the quality of certain products, particularly meats and some electronics, was not as good as expected, and that some items were overpriced or had reduced in size. Life-changing experience

My personal experience with Costco has been nothing short of life-changing. I've been a member for nearly three decades and came to appreciate Costco more over time. Wish there were more businesses like this.

The Forsyth County Baldridge Road…

The Forsyth County Baldridge Road Costco gas station has been vastly improved with the addition of the new pumps and light system. There is a huge problem with being able to exit, especially trying to turn left back to the main store. The landscaping totally blocks the view and needs to be replaced with much lower plants or just turf. I have mentioned this to the store manager to no avail. Probably will correct it after the next car wreck!

I usually love shopping at Costco…

I usually love shopping at Costco in-store, but the online experience feels like a totally different company. The prices are decent, but shipping times can be painfully slow especially for larger items. I ordered a TV stand that took nearly three weeks to arrive, and there were barely any updates. That said, the return process was smooth once I finally got through to support. Just wish their online side matched the in-store efficiency.

Charged for a Canceled Order — No Refund and No Way to Reach Support

I placed an order on Costco.com yesterday and the payment was immediately deducted from my bank account. The next day, Costco canceled my order and sent me an automated “no-reply” email claiming that they hadn’t charged my card and that the funds were only a pre-authorization hold.

That’s not true — the money was actually taken from my account, and now I have neither the product nor a refund.

What’s even more frustrating is that Costco doesn’t provide any public customer service email for online orders. Their website only has automated forms and generic responses, which makes it almost impossible to reach a real person!

If anyone knows an official and verified Costco.com email address or other way to contact their support team directly, please share it here. I just want to get my refund and resolve this issue properly.

Costco lied about install

All the info on the website and order details said that installation was included on a over the stove microwave. I paid more for it because of the install. Were old and have a hard time doing these things anymore. They delivered the oven and refused to install it. I'm not blaming the delivery guys they were nice, but the online site. I received a call from them this morning and he said they are trying to get this changed online but no luck yet! Sorry I have written and produced websites most of my life! It's not that hard guys... this is down right lie, you can do better...I would upload an image of the info on the site but no images here

A big no to Costco.com

I placed a large order, over $1,000, in November of 2024. It did not arrive, but Costco said it did. I sent them everything they asked for to show it didn't arrive, except for a picture of my house which I couldn't do because I had moved by this time 500 miles away. They also wanted me to file a police report which, again, I could not do because I had moved so far away and the report had to be filed in person. The bank refunded me the money I had spent, and then Costco came after me to pay them back the money the bank had returned to me. I did everything. I called Costco, called the bank, and nothing helped. They demanded their money back and hounded me for it. In October of this year, I had had enough and paid them the money, over $1,000 for an order I didn't receive, just to get rid of them. By this time, they had put me into collections. If you purchase from this company and your order does not arrive, you'll still have to pay them. When my membership expires later this month, I will not be renewing as the treatment of their customers is not okay with me.

We have been a Costco member for over…

We have been a Costco member for over 25 years. We got the executive card “thinking” we would get better service…I WAS WRONG!!!
I purchase a Mac book online through Costco and it turns out it’s a DUD!!! I have gone to the store to explain I have been unable to log into it at all…I have contact their customer service -no help. I have gone to the store…no help. I have taken every step ‘each person directed me to”. I KNOW about the 90 thing, I have just this month tried to use it with nothing happening.
We have been in family emergency mode and this was my first attempt to try and log into to this. I asked about this being an EMERGENCY situation type. I have pretty much been hung up on in short. I just wanted it replaced or refunded but I can see from other comments that Costco is yet another company that doesn’t do anything for their customers in my situation.

Ghost Shoppers

It's impossible to get to Customer Service unless you have a specific purchase.

BEWARE using Instacart for delivery at least in Tulsa.

More than once I have been "ghost shopped" only to have my order dumped as its to be delivered. As a disabled person the service made an immense difference until greed took over. Maybe my order wasn't large enough. Maybe my tip was not to their satisfaction.

This is an ongoing issue that Instacart brushes off so I can only believe this behavior is condoned.

Costco has gotten pretty bad

Costco has gotten pretty bad. It seems like manufacturers manufacture just for costco. A product that is more expensive somewhere else and cheaper at costco is also lower quality at costco. Also, their vitamins all have bad ingredients in them. What's the point in getting vitamins if they all have bad ingredients in them. If you want to get alcohol from costco you don't have to have a membership card. That is a plus. Sometimes the staff are rude and sometimes the staff are nice.

Like costco, poor cafe and rude manager (Haydock)

Like costco. However a lot of the stuff is overpriced and can be bought cheaper and you don't have to buy in bulk. The cafe isn't great, The ketchup and mustard machine constantly empty and needs to be cleaned more often same with drinks machine. Manager at the cafe is rude and unhelpful. They do have some great bargains but these are used to hide the overpriced bulk items

Pay To Be Treated Like A Number, And Not A Customer

I have been a loyal customer of the Loves Park, IL store since it opened 6 years ago. This morning, after some errands I arrived a little early, before 10am. I saw they were letting people in, so I scanned my card and entered, only to be told I was 8 minutes early, and would have to leave until 10:00, because they were only letting in those with an Executive Membership. I went back to my car, feeling like a scolded schoolboy, and resolved to stop shopping in the store from now on. Most businesses that actually value their customers would have given the customer a friendly reminder about their early entry policy, and allowed the customer to enter, especially since it was only a few minutes. I will continue to use the gas station, but the store has limited value to me, anyway, so I will not use it going forward.

I arrived at 9:40

I arrived at 9:40am unaware of privileged 9-10 shopping. I said to the employee checking membership, OK I'll wait until 10am. The employee said , you will have to wait in your vehicle.
I said if you don't want my business maybe I should cancel my membership. She said customer service is over there, Costco will allow you to do that.
We travel 2hrs to shop and normally don't arrive until after 10am.
I am convinced Costco and employees don't care about customers.

Don't bother looking online.

Costco's website is totally useless. It thinks I am near Seattle not Rockwall Tx. and i can't change it. Go figure. Also, when I tried looking at groceries it takes me to TV sets, appliances and you name it. Just go to a store is apparently what they want.

THIS IS A ZERO-STAR REVIEW:

THIS IS A ZERO-STAR REVIEW:

Although I've never dealt with Acer before, I did for the first time on Tuesday 10-7-25. I won't leave a biography of what happened but my friends laptop was under a one-year warranty from Acer and Costco. Being told by Costco's warranty department to send her laptop to Acer, she'd put the laptop inside a box, bubble wrapped it and sent it a few days before my arrival. At the FedEx drop off location, that box was then put inside another box. The laptop screen had gotten colored horizontal lines across it and that's why she'd sent it in.

It arrived at Acer via FedEx and the box was in a disgusting state with a broken screen. That was nothing to do with my friend. She'd completed her side of the arrangement.

On the evening of Tuesday 10-7-25 I'd spent two and a half hours on the phone, partly with Costco's warranty service with a gentleman by the name of Minall (sp). This conversation went around in circles and I had to explain to him four times what the situation was.

Acers rep Chris said that Acer would call back the next day. Nobody at Acer has ever called back!

The sad thing about this whole story is I've never heard of anybody having an issue with a return at Costco ever and this ended up being a complete nightmare.

That same evening and getting nowhere with the Costco warranty department phone call, I ended up calling somebody else in the Costco organization on behalf of my friend. That manager in a completely different state called the Costco store in Utah, where this laptop was originally purchased.

I was told that there'd be no problems going back to that store with the laptop, after it had been returned from Acer.

Two days later I went with my friend to this particular Costco with the laptop in a box and unopened from its return from Acer.

I wasn't impressed with Travis who worked at this Costco location at all and the time that it took him to sort this simple return out.

In fact it took Travis so long that in the end I called the original person who I'd spoken to at another Costco store 2 days beforehand. I then put that manager on the phone with Travis to verify with him what had been arranged.

The individual in this Utah location of Costco who'd been called 2 days before and had verified to my Costco contact in another state, said there'd be 'No problems' returning the laptop. This simple message was never passed on to Travis at the return merchandise department.

This was a 20 to 25 minute unnecessary ordeal and a complete waste of our time.

I'll never deal with Acer again and I think their customer service stinks.

As for Costco I'm very, very disappointed with this whole affair.

I had a terrible experience with…

I had a terrible experience with Costco. A customer service representative gave me completely wrong information about a promotion and told me to make a specific purchase, promising I’d receive a refund. I followed their exact instructions — but instead of fixing their mistake, Costco charged me extra, canceled my membership without notice, and now expects me to take responsibility for their error.

I’ve spent hours on chats and phone calls trying to get help, but every representative gives a different excuse. I trusted Costco for honesty and professionalism, but this experience showed me the opposite. I just wanted a simple resolution, not endless blame-shifting and frustration
