Absolutely fabulous food!
Absolutely fabulous food in the restaurant on the last 3 occassions and great value too! Would highly recommend and as we're local we'll be visiting again soon. Best food in Malvern!

Over-Sold Under-Delivered. We were so looking forward to our break in the Malvern Hills. The website for this venue is superb and gave us the impression we were going somewhere very special. What a disappointment. The views from the hotel are superb but not much else is. Our room was in the main house up a very steep flight of stairs, no assistance with the baggage despite us being pensioners and in my wife's case an octogenarian. We were lucky, our younger friends had a further flight of stairs on an exposed staircase, they almost needed oxygen when they reached their room again no assistance with baggage was offered. Things only got worse as the weekend progressed. The menu in the 1919 restaurant was extremely limited and remained the same on both nights of our stay. The number of items was further limited by supplements, the worst example of this cash extraction exercise was a small bowl of new potatoes charged at £5. When I booked the rooms on a Dinner Bed and Breakfast basis I paid £150 deposit I had anticipated that this would have contributed to the weekend - it did it was all used and more on supplements and a couple of bottles of mediocre UK bottled wine. The rooms were smaller and the bathrooms smaller again than most hotels we have stayed. We won't be returning to this establishment on that you can rest assured. The hotel operates its own review system presumably to limit negative comments. I completed my review on their site and was promised someone would call me - 8 days have passed and I'm still waiting! For the avoidance of doubt, this review relates to cottageinthewood Malvern
