I bought my first Countryside Homes property in Milby Meadows, Nuneaton. I’m delighted with the design and layout; it feels much larger than on the plan.
Having lived in Nuneaton for 55 years, I’ve witnessed significant changes. I chose Milby Meadows because Countryside Homes built here and they’re a leading UK house builder.
I was downsizing and this area, on the outskirts of town, is near good schools and transport links, just minutes from the A5. It’s incredibly convenient.
Countryside Homes offered a scheme to sell my house and buy one of theirs, which eased the moving process. I sold my house and moved in within three months. I was the first resident on the estate just before Christmas and I’m thrilled.
The staff, especially the managers, are fantastic. They promptly address any problems that arise, thankfully none have been major. Jamie, the manager, visits regularly to check in and ask if we have any other issues.
I made the right decision buying a Countryside Homes property. It’s a lovely house in a great location with excellent transport links.
I highly recommend Countryside Homes to family and friends. Visit the show homes and see for yourselves.

We bought a house at the Saddlers Reach development and were very well looked after by the sales person, Craig. We're very happy with the design of the house and would recommend Countryside Homes (and Craig!) to anyone looking to purchase a new home.

Outstanding service from the first enquiry through to reserving the plot. A special mention to the sales team, who consistently go the extra mile and make you feel genuinely welcome.

So far they have been very patient and accommodating when going through the different houses and most recently when going through the different internal fittings. The sales consultant, Ruth, was patient in explain and answering our questions and gave us plenty of time to think things through.

There’s no one to speak to regarding outstanding snags at my house, one concerning a potential mold issue (email below). I emailed the customer service, the sales agent, the builders manager, zero response.
Will have to fix their mistakes at my own cost.
Initially they create an illusion of wanting to resolve the issues but never turn up when agreed, just appear on your doorstep one day an few weeks later and expect you turn your day up side down just because it suits them.
Then they disappear altogether and you can’t get anything sorted anymore.
Won’t be recommending this developer to people anymore.
Email:
I had someone come and measure the windows to be replaced a few weeks ago - they told me they’d come back in around two weeks but never did, and I don't have their contact details to follow up on that?
More importantly, I’ve noticed that along part of the property the lawn/soil is in direct contact with the external wall, whereas a gravel margin has only been installed along the paved section.
There is already visible moisture marking (efflorescence) at the base of the wall.
I’m concerned that this setup may lead to ongoing moisture retention against the brickwork and potentially bridge the damp-proof course over time, increasing the risk of damp-related issues.
Could this please be reviewed to ensure appropriate drainage and that ground levels and finishes are consistent along the full length of the wall?
Also, I’ve also noticed that six neighbouring properties have both a continuous paved margin and a gravel strip along the full length of the rear wall, preventing direct soil contact with the brickwork.
In contrast, my property has lawn/soil directly against part of the wall, which seems inconsistent and likely contributes to the moisture staining already visible.
Could you please confirm whether this has been finished as intended, and if not, whether it can be brought in line with neighbouring properties?

Countryside has delayed repair works for me and my neighbour for over a year
This is already the third time I have shared my concerns about Countryside here. Each time I post, someone from Countryside usually contacts me after a while. However, this is always followed by further delays, and no concrete solution is ever provided. I feel extremely frustrated and angry.
In April last year, I discovered that the surface of my parking space had cracked, which also caused the gravel board in my neighbour’s garden to tilt and crack. About a month later, the developer arranged for a contractor to carry out repairs and admitted that the issue was due to a design problem with the parking space. However, they only carried out a simple resurfacing and considered the matter resolved.
Afterwards, my neighbour and I repeatedly requested a proper and permanent solution. The developer promised to handle the issue appropriately, but now, a year later, there is still no clear plan.
Last month, senior management from Countryside customer service department met with us. The contractor, however, claimed they could not attend the meeting due to the distance, which I found very surprising. As the party responsible for the work, how could they not even come to inspect the site?
Countryside also stated that repair works would begin around mid-month of March and last approximately three weeks. However, up to now, no work has started, and we have not been contacted with any explanation or schedule. Despite my follow-up emails and phone calls, I have been unable to reach anyone responsible for a response.
Therefore, I am once again expressing my concerns here and will seek assistance from relevant government authorities, as this situation is extremely unfair to us homeowners.

I’ve just reserved our new home with Countryside Homes, Milby Meadows in Nuneaton and I couldn’t be happier! The whole process was smooth and stress-free. A huge thank you to Jess, the sales manager for being so helpful and patient with all my questions. I am so thrilled and excited to see the build progress and can't wait to move in! Excellent customer service!

The product is fantastic, the people are great but the absolute extremes taken around AML requirements make the purchase process very challenging. The old maxim innocent until proven guilty seems to operate in reverse.
Nonetheless we got there in the end.

Fletton Folly Site
Extremely rude sales negotiator Lewis and shocking marketing processes.
I enquired about Plot 146 twice after receiving marketing texts from Countryside and Lewis told me it was not for sale and then Countryside head office called me and told me it is available and is for sale - confusing!
I am a chain free buyer, looking to move asap with an extremely large budget. When I questioned Lewis about the availability again, his attitude deteriorated and he became very rude, he concluded by telling me he was holding the property for someone he was more interested in building relationships with, he's been doing his job for 10 years and I don't know anything and I was not allowed to buy a property from his site. Strange reaction to a perfectly valid question. I complained to head office, which was useless and pointless as they still confirmed they are holding the plot for a customer but still marketing for sale, initially no apology received.
This centres around Countryside's bizarre process of holding a property for a Part exchange customer whilst still marketing it as for sale on the website, actively encouraging customers to call now, don't miss out on this fantastic offer. I have been trying to discuss buying this plot since 30th Jan, only to be told it's being held for another customer. Still on 11th Feb they are marketing it as for sale and also increased the price by £10k.
Surely a professional business would not have a marketing process like this and mark a property being held as reserved but apparently not by Countryside Homes who feel false and misleading advertising is a better approach. I have screenshots clearly still showing the plot for sale throughout February.
I was promised that the poor behaviour demonstrated by the sales consultant would be addressed when he was back from leave but as I have heard nothing further from Countryside Homes by way of an apology or explanation why Consultant Lewis told me he was not prepared to sell me a home, I will have to assume this is a standard level of service and think myself lucky I avoided purchasing a home from this terrible business.
Very poor customer service, both from the rude sales consultant and also from the company themselves.

Craig at Saddlers Reach, Chichester couldn't have been more helpful, what a breath of fresh air he is! He knows everything about the area and was able to answer all my questions on the development, time scales and options available to me. He basically sold me on moving to the area from Surrey. Not often you find a property agent who's so great at what they do!

Reply from Countryside Homes
Craig Jones at Saddlers Reach provided excellent customer service throughout the process of my buying a property. Responsive, approachable, professional & well informed about the local area. I am extremely thankful that he actively helped to resolve two 'issues' holding up the exchange of contracts when the Vistry sales progressor, new to the development, seemed at loss to know what to do.
Snagging issues raised in a pre purchase survey by a specialist company were acted upon by the Site Manager and issues raised after occupation have been
satisfactorily resolved. So overall my experience of buying a new build from Countryside Homes has been a positive one.
