I wish i could give rhem a minus 5 star…

I wish i could give rhem a minus 5 star rating. Urgent booking, but no car available. Booking was cancelled from their side. Battling to get a refund. 5 Days from your side to refund is unacceptable, takes too long. WILL NEVER USE THEM, NOR RECOMMEND THEM. After 6 days the tried to debit my account twice. Luckily i already instructed my bank to stop payment on the transaction.

Misrepresentation and complete rip-off.

We selected a vehicle which was stationed in Ballito, as this is where we were at the time and we had no other cost-effective means to get around.

When we confirmed and paid the booking, the pickup location changed to King Shaka airport, meaning we now had to incur additional cost to go and collect the vehicle, so we chose to cancel the booking and look for another vehicle based in Ballito.

Crazy car rental's website states that if you cancel within the hour, you don't pay penalties. We cancelled within the hour yet a R800 penalty fee was imposed. Total booking cost was R1100, so the penalty is a complete rip-off.

I would discourage anyone to use this service as what you see is not what you get.

We are sorry you had some issues with your car rental.

We do not change pickup or return locations, the addresses are clearly printed on both the booking pages and on your voucher. Our booking system shows all depots within proximity of the search location so it looks like you may have chosen a depot away from your intended pickup.

In regards to the cancellation fees these are set by the suppliers themselves. In most cases these are 24 hours prior to your pick-up refunded in full but any shorter than that fees apply. These are the same policies used for example at Hotels. The car rental companies are putting aside cars and need adequate notice.

All these details are clearly printed on your voucher.

Recommend avoiding Car Trawler!

Booked in good faith through the website for van hire in June, paid deposit and then balance in full prior to picking up vehicle. When I got to the actual car hire place they had the booking and the vehicle available but hadn't received payment from Car Trawler so I had to make an additional payment to the hire company. I have phoned the only publicly available numbers repeatedly tried to talk to someone at Car Trawler - the one time I managed to get through to an actual person I explained the situation, was asked to explain it again, during which the line went dead at their end. I've raised a dispute with my credit card company but haven't yet reached a resolution.

Stay away - Do not touch

I made a booking for Spain with a different return depot than the pickup. It took a few days to confirm, but it was and a deposit was take from my credit card that was not on the booking. The insurance was also deducted from my credit card.

When I checked the confirmation the booking had a different destination than I booked. I fortunately emailed them but received no reply. Five days later I cancelled the booking. Then suddenly the insurance was not paid that is suppose to be refunded.

Disgustingly appalling service

Disgustingly appalling service. Booked a vehicle through crazycarhire.com, the booking, as well as my payment was confirmed. Went to pick the vehicle up and the car rental company had no idea and no trace of my booking.

Stay AWAY from these thieves

Stay away from these thieves, CHARGED my card with 260 euro , went to get the car and Gold Car refused to give me the Car. Communicated with these crooks and they REFUSED to refund me the ammount.

Let know of your people and family to stay away from these thieves, they are still open from stealing money from people without giving them a Car.

Delay in refund\ still waiting for refund

I cancelled a booking and received an e-mail confirming my cancellation and refund after 10 days. Its over 15 days now and I still have received my refund...very disappointing!!! I want my refund!!!!!

Ridiculous

I went to pick up the hire vehicle this morning. The vehicle was ready for collection, but the dealer was insisting on a full payment at the dealer even though I had already made a payment through Crazy Car Hire. I am disgusted and will never use nor recommend this service ever again. I am expecting a full refund due to the fact that they reneged on their contract. needless to say, i do not have the hire vehicle due to this, and have had to make other arrangements.

terrible experience

Went to collect vehicle and they had never heard of crazy car hire who had not informed me of a number of issues. I had to cancel the booking and make alternative arrangements I have still had no reply to my email regarding a refund. I do not recommend this method of booking a car!
