Mortgage Cleared Two Months Ago & Still Not Applied

We cleared our mortgage in February and now two months later we continue to receive notification of unpaid direct debits and interest owing on same.
(CIF debited our account in error in March and we have since blocked our account to all future payments.)
We email our 'Collections Officer' almost daily and leave notifications through the portal and nothing changes. What was initially an annoyance is now becoming quite stressful. The money to clear our mortgage seems to have disappeared into a black hole. They can't even acknowledge receipt of same. CIF have no problem requesting interest from us for what they see as funds owing and it is they who owe us money!
Surely a bank can't hold onto money for two months without any acknowledgement they have received same? We are literally at our wits end - this is a bank that needs to be investigated!

Terrible service

Terrible service . Our mortgage was paid off January 2026 yet CIF took the February 2026 mortgage payment and continues to try to take March 2026 payment. The notary has been emailing them and I too have emailed them to ask them to update their records and to stop sending me late and non payment letters. So many complaints via the online portal and no response at all.
