I've had the Crockpot maybe 5 years and a slow cooker is a useful tool in the kitchen. There have never been any problems with the functionality. The major weakness is in the container in which the po... See more

Rubbish - Dont waste your money
We've had our crock pot for about 12 months- bought from a Sainsburys store and can't fine the receipt.
It has cracked right through! We've had several slow cookers that usually last 5-6 years. This thing is absolutely awful quality probably made out of cheap sand and not properly fired when made. Will never buy another from the brand...ever.

Im FUMING to say the least.
I got my crockpot, as my last one of only 36 years broke. I prepared a meal for after church and its only been cooking for 4 MONTHS! It at least takes 5 to make a devine "Mommas after church meat loaf stew". Obviouly this is personal!
Its an attack of my character, my vuneralbility.
Not a happy momma!!

The not so durable Dura-Ceramic Crock-Pot
Summary:
It's a good cooker with two heats and stay warm facility coupled to a useful timer. The downside is that as a premium priced product it's just not value for money with its durability issues.
|The Longer Version:
We bought a Dura-Ceramic Crock Pot from Costco at an offer price of £87, so not cheap as slow cookers go nowadays. We are heavy users of our slow cooker and after a string of low cost short lifespan cookers we thought a better quality item would serve us well, especially as my mother's 'Crock-Pot' had served her for over twenty years.
Not so. Within 12 months the 'Dura-Ceramic' bowl began pitting even though it was washed by hand as the instruction book specified. At ten months in, the bottom of the bowl was badly pitted and we contacted the distributors. Jarden Consumer Solutions who distribute Crock-Pot in the UK replaced the bowl after proof of purchase and a photo showing the pitting.
We thought maybe the pitting was an isolated incident. Not so, the replacement pot has gone the same way and now the cooker is out of warranty. Eighteen months after the warranty replacement the 'Dura-Ceramic coating on the pot is deteriorating rapidly. It's a shame you can't post pictures with the review.
At this point we have decided that Crock-Pot are not worth the money and the reputation for a quality item is no longer deserved.
We are going back to plan A which is to buy disposable cookers from Tesco or Argos and replace them every two years or so as it costs less in the long run.
Brilliant
Brilliant! I bought a Crockpot 18 months ago and thought I was doing something wrong as I could never get it to work. I eventually made time to have a proper look at it with the instructions and realised it was faulty! I thought Id probably left it too late to do anything but I rang their customer service line and was told that it was still within the guarantee as long as I had proof of purchase. The customer advisor gave me an email address and told me to explain the situation via email. Thank goodness I saved the receipt! Upon receiving my email with photo of receipt attached they asked me to send the serial number of my crockpot. As soon as they had all the information they required, within 2 days I got a brand new Crockpot! I call this BRILLIANT customer service. Beef stew for dinner yesterday, veggie broth in there now simmering away while I work! Fab! :)
Customer services is dreadful
Customer services is dreadful, they have a about as much personality as the rice that goes in the rice cooker.
Ordered a rice cooker from Crock-Pot directly, it arrived and has a chip on the non-stick pan. Me, thinking that because I ordered this from the UK supplied it would be easy to get it replaced. NO, Forget that, I have to package it up, organise the return, pay for the return and if they decide that its faulty/damaged they will give me a refund of both the cooker and the postage. But more about the product, it’s the CRC029-01 quality is average, light and plastic and to be honest the non-stick in the pan is of low quality and wasn’t going to last long. I would look round and by a different brand is you can, but first check to make sure it’s not one of the products distributed by this outfit ‘Jarden Consumer Solutions’.

Your customer service is bad
Your customer service is bad! Although the defect to mine is minor (I think) a number of emails have been unanswered for 2 months, which tells me their customers are not important to Crockpot. Would buy another brand in future.
Defective pot
I received a Crock Pot slow cooker as a wedding gift through a gift list company. When I received it I noticed there was a bubble/flaw in the glazing where I could see the ceramic through it - which would no doubt allow bacteria in and make the pot unsafe for use. Several emails to Crock Pot's customer service went unanswered and when I first phoned they tried to tell me the (brand new) pot wasn't covered under the warranty!
After providing photos and chasing several times, they agreed to replace the pot. It's been a month now and the replacement has yet to materialise and I get the impression nothing will be done unless I keep chasing them. It's disappointing that they don't seem to care much about customer service or standing behind the quality of their products.
Glass lid shatters - DANGER
Firstly may I say that food cooked in a Crockpot is wonderful - we have been using an old style Crockpot for many years. However, it had seen better times and we were given a new style Crockpot as a replacement for Christmas - wonderful!
We decided to use it to cook a beef stew overnight - so appetising .
Next morning we came into the kitchen to the wonderful aroma of a well cooked stew.
I then went to lift the lid by the handle and the glass to SHATTERED - just like to old style windscreens when a stone hits them. Glass went everywhere, dropping into the boiling stew, splashing liquid and releasing steam. A very nasty and potentially dangerous experience indeed.
I immediately wrote to Crockpot (Jarden Team) and reported the matter alerting them to what I considered a danger. I provided photographs of the shattered lid and the cooker identification label. I then researched the issue on the internet and discovered that this was not an isolated case.
I expected Crockpot to be concerned and to reply with an offer to collect the lid and address the dangerous issue. But no, they were solely interested in the unreadable date label on the bottom of the cooker. Finally they suggested that I return the 'damaged' lid at my own expense for their 'inspection'. Since then, they have declined to reply to my correspondence even though I have requested that the matter be escalated as a serious safety issue.
This is not the caring customer service that I would expect from a reputable company.
If you are thinking of buying one of these appliances, think carefully - are they dangerous and if you do have a problem, what sort of customer service would you expect. Perhaps you should look for an alternative - I would.
