Friendly staff, but uncomfortable sales pressure
I signed up to Crown Bank Dental as a new patient and had mixed feelings about the experience.
On the positive side, the staff I interacted with were friendly, welcoming and professional.
However, what left me uncomfortable was that I was taken into a separate room afterwards and encouraged to sign up to a monthly subscription plan there and then, with the understanding that if I didn’t sign up on the spot I would lose access to a sign-up bonus. This felt like a very high-pressure sales tactic to me, and inappropriate for a healthcare setting.
I’m used to dentists presenting treatment options in a more neutral, patient-led way, without time-sensitive incentives or urgency. Being asked to make a financial commitment on the spot made the experience feel transactional, particularly before any trust had been built.
Since my visit I have seen a number of discounts and promotional offers that reinforce the impression that this practice operates as a business first and care provider second. While the clinical staff were pleasant and professional, I left feeling there was a stronger focus on selling services than on patient care, which has affected my confidence in returning.
