Muito perto do almoço para entregar / To close to lunch to deliver.

CTT Posta Restaura is hopeless

I was travelling in Portugal and I forwarded essential medications ahead by mailing to a CTT branch using the Posta Restaura service. When I reached the delivery destination, I was told that my package had been returned to the sending CTT branch. The time period was well within the deadline specified on the CTT website. My medications are now unrecoverable. In Spain I twice used the same process (Lista Correos) without any problems.

To all those CTT customers who are…

To all those CTT customers who are unsatisfied and are complaining about postal services in Portugal: As functionaries we get paid low salaries, so why would we do our work properly? Lack of training, lack of mail security, small salary, lack of affordable rent, unable to make a normal living, why would we care to provide a good service and to secure your mail properly? Try this in developed countries. Next time vote this CTT management company out, perhaps the new management company will do a better job taking care of their employees and the mail security. You can see all mail sorting rooms are unlocked and anyone at any time can come in and steal your packages.

Horrific, rude and useless

Much like several users below, I wish I could give this company a 0. The customs charge was extortionate and we decided to return to sender. What an error that was.

They lost the recipients phone number so did not contact regarding the customs charge. We only received this information after calling and speaking to several people.

It is now a month and the package is still in portugal but 'in transit'. It took almost 2 weeks to authorise it for return after we had selected this on the portal.

Out of the 12 or so people I have spoken to throughout this ordeal only one has been helpful and kind. He did his best and appreciated that the service was terrible. He put me through to another department to see if they could do anything about it and to try and speed up the process.

Unfortunately the person he put me through to was the rudest person I spoke to so far. Patronising, unhelpful and consistently cutting me off to direct me to the portal.

Every time I have spoken to them I just get told to wait, I have spent over a month waiting and thr package is still yet to leave Lisbon, let alone portugal.

Without a doubt, the absolute worst company I have ever had to interact with. Rude staff, unhelpful, patronising and poor service. They read off a script and act like robots, no appreciation that people are taking time out of their day to try and resolve ongoing issues, they speak to you as if it is a nuisance that you want to know where your belongings are.

They have asked me if I want to make a complaint but honestly the process of just trying to use their service is so horrifically slow that I anticipate that the complaint will take about a year to get anywhere.

CTT should be ashamed of the attitude of the majority of the people who work for them and of the service they claim to provide.

Appalling.

Orders keep disappearing and nothing we can do

It's the second times my deliveries disappeared in few weeks.
No help nor insurance, customer service can't do anything about it.
Bit disappointing... Once can happen
But now it start to leave a bad taste..
Be careful especially if you have a foreigner name..

Waste of time & money using CTT

Avoid posting using CTT to Portugal. Posted a gift in October 2024, held at customs until February 2025, when I was given notification of 1 week to complete an online process via the portal. When I went to do it the button to move the webpage on/ forward was greyed out/not usable. Conveniently, CTT didn't respond until after the deadline and alas, my property/gift is now missing. You're wasting your time and money using the CTT service.

I wish I could give a zero rating

I wish I could give a zero rating. Absolutely useless. Commercial invoice completed correctly, parcel held for days with no communication. No urgency, no communication, they couldn't care less - absolutely appalling service and total incompetence.

Held my parcel to ransom

Held my parcel to ransom, I sent some Christmas cards and some plastic flowers my children had made for gifts to family in Portugal. Got a message from CTT saying that there was something wrong with Royal Mail customs declaration I had filled out, so they wouldn't delivery my parcel. I still have no idea what was wrong as they won't tell me, despite me repeatedly asking them. My family never got the parcel and they haven't sent it back to me either.

I am disappointed with the service

I am disappointed with the service. The website doesn’t function properly, making it impossible to change the details or delivery date for the package. The courier didn’t notify me of any delivery issues and sent the package to the other side of the city, two hours away from where I live, even though there are much closer pickup points. I’ve spent half the day on the road just to retrieve my package. This is terrible.

Non delivery

I was sent a message my parcel was out for delivery. I waited all day then received a message stating it couldn't be delivered. This happened 3 times. Three days of waiting at home.
Checked delivery status and it was still at the centre in Guia. I live in Lagos.

Terrible service

Terrible service, always giving wrong guidance, poor customer support and constant disrespect with client, all they do is a joke, like last time I had a order to be delivered at my home, but it was it was redirected to a pick up point, saying I had chose that option, even though I was at home all day just waiting for my package and didn’t receive any contact from their team, and the best is that they didn’t accept my request to try another delivery to my home as the previous request was already concluded.

Rubbish company

Rubbish company doing a lot of mistakes in the customs. I have a parcel sent to my mother-in-law which is a gift and they are claiming it is a commercial parcel. They put sender address of dpd and not my personal address that the parcel was sent from. Now they are asking for a proof of purchase. Honestly, how am I supposed to give a proof of purchase of the handmade gift? Good question. Avoid it at all costs, not worth the time and patience... I agree with all the reviews below.. Our wedding invitations just disappeared... Do not risk it.

Beware! Avoid CTT at all costs

I hope you are reading this before using CTT 'services'. As reported by many here, they have a habit of losing or withholding your items due to errors from their own negligence. From my experience, they also try to make it as impossibly hard for you to reclaim items while also ignoring your requests to refund services they failed to provide.

In October 2024, I used CTT at Aeroporto Francisco Sá Carneiro in Porto to send a gift home. From the start, the experience was appalling. One senior woman at the desk there was exceptionally rude, loudly complaining to staff about tourists in Portugal (she didn’t realise my family is Portuguese). Another employee expressed how she wanted to keep my gift if I left it at their desk. When I declined, they became very rude - saying that my item would only arrive broken anyway.

When I returned to my home country, DHL informed me that CTT had failed to record essential shipment details when they charged me for the shipment. Details were (conveniently) missing from their side, and I had to reconfirm all of these. Following this, I was asked to write a vague ‘written statement’ with no other details provided. Despite the repeated efforts of DHL to obtain more clarification about this 'written statement', their communication was ignored only until my item was marked for return to the CTT desk.

CTT blamed me for their own negligence and for not getting back to them in time (even though DHL had) so my item had been returned to their desk. They stated I now needed to visit their desk in Porto to collect the item – an absurd and impractical demand considering I live outside of Portugal. Two months later and following many attempts to resolve the issue, CTT is still ignoring my requests for a refund for a shipment service they ultimately failed to provide due to their own errors. Very shady indeed!

Considering the similar experiences of others on this site, having CTT operate at airports like Aeroporto Francisco Sá Carneiro in Porto is a major concern. With their disastrous track record, I urge anyone to steer far clear of CTT and I hope that this review, and other reviews on this site, prompts a proper investigation into their practices.

Only brainless fools would recommend…

Only brainless fools would recommend this company . Made me wait whole day informing it can come anytime until 19 hr but atleast found I was absent to pick it up when they were out there in the day time in delivery status . Liars and incompetent
