Great service from start to Finnish

Great service from start to Finnish. Didn't feel pressured into anything. Lewis w was very helpful, he made myself and the wife feel reassured with any questions we had and felt at ease.
We chose dace as they had a great choice of cars and the warranty is a proper warranty not the 3rd party covers that you get at some other places.
It's not the 1st time buying a car from dace and probably won't be the last.
Would definitely go back. 😊

Poor customer aftersales service Extremely Disappointed – Unsafe Vehicle and Poor Customer Service

I am extremely disappointed with both the vehicle supplied and the level of customer service I have received.
Shortly after taking delivery of the vehicle, we discovered several significant issues, including unsafe and faulty side steps, non-functioning air conditioning, an illuminated engine management warning light, and brakes that are producing a persistent squeaking noise. Given the number and severity of these faults, it is difficult to believe that a thorough pre-delivery inspection was carried out before the vehicle was handed over.
What has made this situation even more frustrating is the complete lack of communication from the company. We reported these issues immediately and clearly stated that we wished to return the vehicle. Despite this, our email has not received a meaningful response, and our telephone calls have not been returned for almost a week.
To make matters worse, rather than arranging to collect a vehicle that is clearly faulty and potentially unsafe, we were asked to drive it back to Manchester, approximately 59 miles from our home, for repairs to be carried out. Given the safety concerns we had already raised, we found this request wholly unreasonable and unacceptable.
The vehicle is currently neither safe nor fit for purpose, causing significant inconvenience to our family. We have three children and rely heavily on our vehicle for day-to-day activities, so being left without a dependable means of transport is entirely unacceptable.
As a result of both the condition of the vehicle and the poor handling of our concerns, we have lost all confidence in the vehicle and in the company. We have formally requested that the vehicle be collected without delay and have advised that, if we do not receive a satisfactory resolution within seven days, we will have no option but to pursue legal action. We also reserve the right to recover any additional costs incurred as a direct result of being unable to use the vehicle.
Overall, this has been an extremely disappointing experience from start to finish. I would strongly encourage any potential customer to carry out a thorough inspection of any vehicle before purchase and to carefully consider the level of aftersales support available should any problems arise.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are genuinely sorry to read that you feel disappointed with your experience. Customer safety and satisfaction are extremely important to us, and we take any concerns regarding a vehicle's condition very seriously. Prior to delivery, as is our standard procedure, the vehicle underwent a thorough mechanical inspection, pre-delivery inspection, service where required, and a valid MOT. At the time of preparation and handover, none of the faults you have since reported were present. As with any used vehicle, particularly one that is 11 years old and has covered 84,000 miles, unforeseen mechanical faults can unfortunately develop after purchase. While this is never the experience we want for our customers, it is an inherent aspect of purchasing a used vehicle, and we are sorry that this has been your experience. You contacted us by email last Wednesday to request rejection of the vehicle. We have since agreed to your request and arranged for the vehicle to be collected, within the 14-day timeframe you gave us to respond. Throughout this process, we have endeavoured to deal with the matter promptly and professionally. Although we are sorry that your experience has not met your expectations, we wish you and your family all the very best for the future. Dace Motor Company

Having purchased a car from Dace I had…

Having purchased a car from Dace I had an issue within the warranty period. The issue was handled by Chantell who was excellent from beginning to end. She arranged for car to be fixed within a day of me reporting the issue and kept me informed throughout the process. Great service all the way.

Thank you!

If you come to Dace, ask for Lewis worthington!

His customer service is 10/10, nothing is too much for him! He makes you feel comfortable and treats you as a proper human and not just a customer wanting money!

He got me an amazing price for my car so I could part ex it for a newer one.

Thank you Lewis!

Greedy, tight and miserable

Bought a Mazda3 off of DACE, which was advertised as having absolutely no defects. Before the warranty ended, I had a mechanic check the car over and they found that the undertray was missing, meaning there were loose pieces of plastic hanging from the bottom of the car that would have been bolted down had the undertray been there. When I emailed DACE about the issue they told me that I had looked under the car and that I agreed that I was happy with the quality of the car (which is illegal, see customer rights act). I asked to phone call with senior people in the company and I never received a phone call even though I requested it many times.

They also gave me the car with a near empty tank, only enough to get to the nearest petrol station.

Their margins are so tight that if you aren't financing I would completely avoid as they are incredibly stingy and cheap. Awful customer service.

EDIT (after reply from DACE): I drove on regular roads and never damaged the car after purchasing it. It is ridiculous to claim that my undertray fell off, especially since every other part of the car is in perfect condition. If my undertray had somehow come off whilst driving, then three things would have happened:
1. I would have have heard it fall off as it scraped along the road
2. The tray would have fallen into the way of a car behind me, who would have beeped at me and alerted me
3. There would be damage to other parts of the car from being hit by the loose undertray. In particular the holes where the undertray is connected to other parts of the underside of the car.

I am astonished that DACE is trying to claim that somehow without me knowing, my undertray miraculously unclipped itself without causing damage to any other part of my car, and also some how fell off in a way where it didnt make any noise, or get in the way of other drivers behind me.

They also mentioned in their reply that they could evidence that the undertray wasnt missing, this is news to me. If this is the case, then why didn't they just provide this evidence when I initially emailed them instead of telling me that my ability to inspect a car was subpar. If you have evidence (real evidence, not just some technician claiming that it was there) of the undertray being present, then why did you did you do so much to avoid contact with me.

Their immediate response to my first email was this (anything in quotes is a direct quote from the email correspondence with them):
"the undertray is not something we would cover" - Its not their right to pick and chose what missing parts of a car they cover.
"especially on a car that has been sold 3 months ago." - This was an exaggeration, as the car had been sold within 3 months ago, meaning that not only was it within their warranty, but I was also protected by the consumer rights act to expect a repair to goods sold to me with faults.
"At the time of the sale you inspected the underside of the car several times ... Any concerns should have been raised at this point" - The car was sold to me with the promise that it had a full inspection and nothing was wrong. It should also be noted that I am not a mechanic nor do I know literally everything about the underside of a Mazda3, so my apologies for not noticing it was missing.
"The undertray is not a necessity nor does it affect the functionality of the car. " - This is irrelevant and doesn't affect my right to a replacement.
(after my response back) "I have passed your email on to my manager, I am waiting for him to come back to me. " - This obviously never happened, because they know that it's their fault, and they know that I have limited time to chase them up about the issue. They knew that instead of owning up to their mistake, they could just wait for me to run out of energy.

In spite of the false accusations in response to my review, I have very much enjoyed my Mazda3. I'm just glad that the only problem with the car was the undertray, and not something more important!

In reply to your review, George. As a trading standards approved garage, all of our vehicles are subject to a very strict preparation process prior to sale. This includes but is not limited to, a service as required, an MOT and a full health check including bodywork and underneath of vehicle. At no point during this preparation process was the undertray noted as missing or broken and we can evidence that. The undertray was damaged within your possession and due to the location of the undertray and it being subject to damage from, curbs, potholes, road debris etc unfortunately it is not something we cover under the terms of our warranty. We are sorry to hear you’ve damaged the undertray and in spite of the false accusations within your review, we do wish you all the best with the car in the future.

Jason looked after an after sales issue…

Jason looked after an after sales issue that I had. Once contact with Jason had been established and we spoke..Jason provided excellent customer service, from confirming exact times of next contact, to what would happen next and when to expect resolution. Jason made sure someone else followed up when he was not there and Dave called with updates in Jason's absence. I felt that the personal service was seamless, once it was clear what steps next. Thankyou
