If I could give a zero rating I would

If I could give a zero rating I would. I purchased a car from Darin autos and the day after purchase the noise from the engine was awful , a screeching sound and was worse when car was put into reverse ( auto transmission). The engine would cut out on roundabouts / driving along / oil leak which had been plugged with something to hide the leak. Engine light came on in first 2 weeks of ownership and I just didn’t feel safe or confident to drive the car . As the car was financed I went back to the finance company and told them under the 30 day consumer rights act I reject the car ( anything can be returned within 30 days of purchase if found faulty) it took a bit of going back and forth via calls and emails but Darin autos was made to take the car back . I would give this seller a miss as the cars he sells are not fit for purpose and from reading other reviews are clearly not safe vehicles .

"I am extremely disappointed with my experience at [Darin Autos ]. Shortly after purchasing a car from them, I discovered it had significant timing chain problems. Despite this, the dealership has been uncooperative and dishonest.

Instead of addressing the issue, they have tried to blame me for the problem. It's clear they were aware of the fault but failed to fix it before the sale, even going so far as to clear the engine check light on the dashboard, which reappeared the very first day I brought the car home.

Since then, they have been evasive and unwilling to resolve the problem. I strongly advise anyone considering purchasing a vehicle to avoid [Darin Autos ] at all costs. They are dishonest and sell faulty vehicles without taking responsibility. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere!"

Dishonest seller, beware and look at all the 1 star review

Bought a car with them, at first they will tell you everything is good, anything wrong can go back to them. In less than 5 months, engine light was on and obviously they knew about it. (They have changed the spark plugs before they sold the car to me, and the spark plugs were blown when I went to garage and check it) The garage advised me the valve maybe burnt, head gasket & engine may need to rebuild/ replace.
Since the issue occur, I contacted the seller and they said I can bring the car back to them and they will repair it.
Long story short, I chased them for almost two weeks and they used different excuses to holding up, until I posted them a formal letter saying I request them to refund me fully as they refuse to communicate with me. A week later, they "repaired" the car and asked me to pick up, but request me to pay for the servicing fee. When I check the car, I don't feel safe and secure to take back the car as fault code was still there and they cannot clear it, also the exhaust still having unusual amount of white smoke. And they suddenly get intimidated when I refuse to pay, so I just sold the car back to them with almost £3k lost in just driving the car for less than 5 months.

Best advice is to avoid them at the first place and source some other trustworthy car dealership, don't want anyone to experience the same as mine, it was stressful and disgusting

Purchased a Van form them and it broke down on the way home. They took it back for repair after 7 weeks they retuned this to me and the same fault occurred. A report shows no work was carrier out. A CCJ has been applied for and the finance company are rejecting the van. Full of lies do not buy from them

Operating Illegally, avoid.

Hi all,

EDIT____
After searching, this company has a couple of incomplete CCJs, this means the company has been issued 2 orders from the courts to pay out to consumers and they still haven't from 2019.

Report them to trading standards or the dvsa to encourage legal prosecution against the director. This guy deserves time, not just a negative review.

As per date of experience (31/10/22) DarinAutos confirmed that they do not follow the law.

As per the UK legislation that covers distance selling, which came into force in June 2014, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, sometimes referred to as the ‘Distance Selling Regulations’ you should be able to return a car under 14 days of purchase and receipt of the vehicle. You don’t need to provide a reason.

I received a Citreon C4 Cactus on the 30 Oct' 2022, on starting the car to park it, I discovered has the following problems:
- An error that comes up on every start saying "Airbad or seat belt pretensioner fault".
- A non-functioning front screen wash.
- One key.
- On that same key, the boot unlock button doesn't work.

On the date of sale, over the phone, I was told there was nothing wrong with the car. When I reported the above faults the day after, so I didn't leave anytime to be ambiguous as to where the fault occurred, I was told that I should bring the car in to have it repaired. I said that I would like to return the car as per distant sale because of the faults.

I was told that darinautos doesn't accept returns. And that they don't have to accept returns unless they are faulty, which mine is. Not only this, they didn't follow regulation on informing of rights regarding distance sales.

A side note, if a dealership doesn’t inform you of this, you have up to a year to return the car legally, and seek your money in return in full. If they don’t follow this, you can report them to trading standards. So, if you have any issues, seek the motorombudsman.

DO NOT BUY FROM THESE CROOKS

If I could rate them a zero I really would

Sold me an unsafe and dangerous car
After 7 days issues appeared
Refused to pay for the work and spoke to me disgustingly,
Took to a Kia dealership to be told the work would cost up to £1000
They illegally and intentionally turned off the engine warning lights
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY, they knowingly put you in danger
