Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 192 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the website, describing it as a platform with many fake profiles, bots, suspicious accounts, and potential fraudulent activity. Customers frequently reported issues with payments, including unexpected charges, credits disappearing, and the inability to continue conversations without constant purchases. The pricing structure was also a major concern, with many finding it excessively expensive and feeling that the pricing was unfair and overly aggressive for every interaction. Reviewers also expressed frustration with the difficulty in contacting customer service and getting their issues resolved. Conversely, a small portion of people felt that the staff was patient and courteous, and some even found genuine connections, though these experiences appear to be rare.

Dating.com app is not suitable for people who have a low income.

I have been using this dating.com application since 2020 during covid 19, at that time I just wanted to find friends to chat and get to know each other while practicing my English which at that time I was learning English and I was not fluent in English when I chatted with westerners.

I actually only saw messages from members who sent me chats or emails on dating.com without replying to them, because this application is paid and must have credit if you want to send messages, emails, video calls and others also this is not free and can not send messages to members for free that we want and for me dating.com is very expensive and not suitable for people with low incomes.

plus I read reviews from people who use dating.com are very bad and many of their reviews protest the very expensive costs if you want to send messages to members there and there is also a love scam on dating.com by sending romantic and sweet messages and photos of rich men and women so that we can be triggered by them.

3 days ago I tried to pay for my account refill on dating.com for 20.75 USD and the second time I paid back 16.62 USD so all in all it was 37.37 USD for credit. so that I can read emails, chat or video call with members on dating.com. after I chatted with them, and gave directions for me and members on dating.com to talk on other applications such as WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Instagram Messenger or even email, they refused on the grounds that they did not have it, they could not give me their social media or their email to talk there on the grounds that they had just met me. okay I appreciate that and I realize that. but they seem to force me to talk on dating.com, I have explained to them that if I have to talk to you here (Dating.com) longer. I have to pay to talk to you here while I do not have the money to pay for it. unfortunately the members on dating.com do not seem to care and do not understand the conditions that I have explained and they continue to force me. I hope that Dating.com can consider making it free for low-income members so that those of us with low incomes can talk freely with dating.com members there without the barrier of very expensive fees.

Thank you

Hi Kezia,
Thank you for sharing your honest experience — your story truly matters to us. We understand how important meaningful conversation is, especially when learning a language and seeking connection during tough times like the pandemic.

Dating.com uses a credit-based system to ensure safe, secure, and moderated communication for everyone. While we know this isn’t ideal for all budgets, it helps maintain a respectful and scam-monitored environment. Members who seem unwilling to move conversations off-platform may also be following our safety guidelines, which restrict sharing personal contact information too early in the interaction.

That said, we hear your concern loud and clear. We've forwarded your feedback about affordability to our development team, as we continually look for ways to make Dating.com more inclusive — including testing lower-cost packages and occasional promotional credits.

If you'd like to explore any promotional options available in your region or discuss your experience further, our team is here for you: support@dating.com.

We truly appreciate you being with us since 2020, Kezia. Thank you for being part of the community.

KEY EVIDENCE

KEY EVIDENCE – VINCENT TURNER CASE
To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to report serious misconduct involving a man using the name Dr. Vincent Turner across multiple platforms owned or operated by Dating.com / Social Discovery Group and its affiliated websites. I have interacted with this individual for over a year across no fewer than 10 sister platforms, and the evidence strongly suggests that he is not a real person, or that he is a hired operator employed to solicit credit purchases through emotional manipulation.

Vincent Turner presented himself as a widowed American surgeon stationed in Caracas, Venezuela. His story never changed, and his scripted messages appeared repeatedly on sites such as Dating.com, DateMyAge, Amaldate, Zendate, Astrolove, YourChristianDate, and others. On multiple occasions, he reintroduced himself as if we were strangers, repeating exact phrases and photos. When I challenged these patterns, he deflected or blamed technical glitches. He also refused video chat every time I asked — citing broken speakers or vague technical problems — over a span of 18 months.

He was marked as a Preferred Member, meaning he could message me for free — but always claimed that he paid for credits, which I now believe was part of the deception. I now strongly suspect that Vincent Turner is either a fabricated identity or a platform-backed operator used to pressure women into buying expensive credits under false romantic pretenses.

I was led to believe this relationship was real. In total, I spent over $2,000 on credits communicating with someone who was not who he claimed to be, and I have now seen dozens of Trustpilot reviews and complaints describing nearly identical experiences. Some claim that the platform itself may be behind these interactions. I confronted Vincent repeatedly, and each time he avoided accountability.

I request two immediate actions:

Permanent removal and investigation of the user profile 'Vincent Turner', across all platforms.

An internal review of operator tactics, to determine whether Dating.com or its affiliates are knowingly using scripted personas to drive credit purchases.

This report is supported by:

Screenshots of Vincent’s repeated messages and profiles across platforms

Time-stamped chat logs showing identical language and reintroductions

His refusal to engage in any form of video or audio verification

My own billing records and documentation of interactions over the past 18 months

If further evidence is needed, I will cooperate fully. But after months of stalling and copy-paste replies from site support, I have no choice but to escalate this to consumer agencies and review platforms.

Sincerely,
Bucko

Dear Alyce,
Thank you for your detailed message and for taking the time to share your concerns. We understand how distressing this situation has been for you, and we sincerely regret that your experience on our platform has left you feeling unheard and unsupported. Please allow us to respond respectfully and clearly to the points you’ve raised.
1. Your Case and Allegations Regarding “Vincent Turner”
We have thoroughly reviewed your case, including all prior correspondence and the documentation you provided. While we understand your frustration regarding the prolonged and emotionally difficult nature of the interaction, we must clarify that http://dating.comdating.com> is a communication service platform. As outlined in our Terms and Conditions, we are not responsible for the personal outcomes of individual interactions or relationships formed on our site.
We have taken your claims seriously and investigated the account in question. However, based on the information available, we have not found sufficient evidence of fraudulent behavior that meets the criteria set forth in our Anti-Scam Policy.
2. Duplicate Accounts and Messaging Services:
We would also like to confirm that we have previously shared with you the relevant information regarding any duplicate accounts you created on the platform. Furthermore, we have explained how our “Let’s Mingle” service functions, as well as the cross-platform messaging features that allow users to be contacted across affiliated sites when opted in.
3. Refund and Chargeback Clarification:
Regarding your claim that a refund was falsely reported:
The chargeback amount you referenced was not refunded by us directly, but was disputed via a chargeback initiated through your financial institution. This was made up of many transactions, and this is the total amount we see on our system.
When chargebacks are filed, the funds are automatically frozen by the bank while they review the case. This means we do not have access to or control over the funds during this process.
The final decision on whether a refund is issued lies with your bank, not with http://dating.comdating.com>.
4. On Your Escalation Request:
We acknowledge your request to escalate this matter to executive departments. While this response comes from our senior support team, we assure you that your complaint has been reviewed at a higher level within our customer care and compliance framework. Should any new evidence be presented that indicates a violation of our Terms or Anti-Scam Policy, we are fully committed to re-evaluating the case.
We value transparency, and we’re committed to improving the experiences of our users. While we cannot guarantee romantic or emotional outcomes on the platform, we do care about the safety and satisfaction of every member and are continuously working to refine our moderation and support processes.
If you have any additional questions or need further clarification, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are here to help within the framework of our policies.

Dear Cristina, Thank you for sharing your feedback. That’s definitely not the experience we want you to have.

Video calls and messages are fully available with a valid membership, so if your access was restricted after a few minutes, it could be due to security review on your account to keep our community safe or most probably because your credits ran out. Our team would be happy to look into this for you and restore your access as quickly as possible.

Also, all our members go through profile checks to help ensure real connections — we take authenticity seriously and actively monitor for suspicious accounts. Please contact us directly at support@dating.com with your account details so we can resolve this right away. Thank you for your patience, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

Similar to what others said

Similar to what others said: when I wanted to get off the platform, as it is very expensive, and use whatsapp noone wanted to do so ‘I don’t want to go somewhere else yet’(clearly wanted me to stay and spent more credit). I think they worked for the platform. I spent nearly £50 today just to make sure they understood where I was coming from (£20 for 20 min live chat), now I feel a bit foolish and wish I read the reviews here earlier…

I managed to give my number without any restrictions from the platform. Were those guys I chatted with so caring and didn't want to 'spam' me by using it...? Dear reader, judge for yourself.

Dear Maria,
We appreciate you taking the time to leave this feedback — and we completely understand your concerns.

Our platform is built around safe, verified communication for all members, which is why sharing personal contact information off-site is somehow restricted in certain communication features. This helps protect everyone from scams and keeps your conversations secure.

We’re also constantly working to make our services as transparent as possible — if you ever feel unsure about spending or need help making the most of your credits, our support team is here for you at support@dating.com. Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we’d be happy to help you explore all the features so you can feel confident moving forward.

All there beautiful women want to do is keep you in conversation so you use up your coins. I think they are not Females but men poising as women. Reasons??
You can't get them to call or get off the line, and they don't ever run out of coins. I spent over $80.00 talking to one woman and she never strayed away from the site she wouldn't call or even text me, And is it strange that26 and 27 year old's want to talk to a 70 year old man and Georgas something is not right with this site

Scam

Scam. Everyone is good looking, rich and fake. Bot /AI answers, nobody wants to have a call, exchange whatsapp etc. Deleted after a few hours and a loss of money as you have to pay for reading each message and there are plenty of messages within minutes. Totally my fault for now reading reviews before registering. Lesson learnt.

Dear Lily,

We’re really sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate you taking the time to share it.

We understand how frustrating it can feel when expectations don’t align with reality — especially when you've invested time and money. While Dating.com does use profile verification and monitoring systems to ensure authenticity, we know that not every interaction feels genuine. Please know that we do not use bots or AI to message members, and communication is between real users. That said, if someone is unwilling to move forward with a voice or video call or avoids off-platform contact, we encourage to respect personal preferences or if there is any valid reason that breaches the policy reporting them immediately should be done — our team investigates every report thoroughly.

We also want to be transparent about our pay-per-message credit system, which is outlined before registration, though we recognize how easily excitement can overshadow the fine print.

If you'd like to discuss your experience further or have our team look into your account, please reach out to us at support@dating.com, we’re here to help and would like the chance to make this right.

Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope your next experience online is a much better one.

Broken hearted

I've been talking to this guy for 15 most. Not sure if he's real or not. In the beginning he has sent me a few videos but not he doesn't anymore. He keeps saying he's coming back home to Miami but still hasn't. By now he should of giving me his ph number or email and he doesn't want to talk to me anywhere else that's free. I keep telling him I can't afford it but he doesn't listen. I used to think he's real but not sure anymore. I think he's paid to keep me talking on here. I cant afford it. I've wasted thousands of dollars on here. I want my money back. I shouldn't have to pay to talk to someone.

Dear Frances,

Thank you for sharing your experience. We truly understand how upsetting and frustrating this must feel. Your safety, well-being, and peace of mind are very important to us.

While Dating.com provides a platform for real people to connect, we do not employ or pay members to chat — all communication is between users voluntarily. However, if you’ve been talking to someone for months and they avoid meeting in person, sharing contact info, or moving the conversation elsewhere, those are possibly personal preference but could possibly raise red flags that we take seriously.

We strongly urge you to report this user through the app so our moderation team can fully investigate their behavior. If you haven’t already, please also reach out to our support team at support@dating.com so we can look into your specific case, including any concerns about your spending and request for a refund.

We’re here to support you, and we don’t want you to feel alone in this. Thank you again for your honesty — it helps us keep the community safe.

Beware! Very expensive and misleading!

I’ve used this site, and I regret spending so much money on these platforms. Here’s why:

1. Costly Credit System: You need to purchase credits to chat with others, and the costs add up quickly. The conversations often feel designed to keep you buying more credits.
2. Lack of Authenticity: Most users refuse to chat outside the platform or on other free apps. This raises questions about whether the profiles are real or managed by hired chat operators.
3. No Video Chats: Despite building connections with people, they consistently avoid video chatting. This lack of transparency is frustrating and makes it hard to trust anyone on the platform.

Recommendation: Be cautious before spending money here. If you’re looking for genuine connections, consider platforms that don’t require you to pay for basic communication. These sites prioritize profit over helping people form real relationships. They also have zendate and datemyage and others that I don’t know the name.

Dear Curious,

Thank you for sharing your experience—your concerns are valid, and we genuinely regret that the platform fell short of your expectations. Allow us to respond to each point directly:

1. Costly Credit System:
We understand that the credit-based model can feel expensive. It’s designed to prevent spam, protect users, and ensure meaningful interactions. However, your feedback helps us assess how to better balance cost with user experience.

2. Lack of Authenticity:
You're right to question profiles that avoid off-platform communication. While we prioritize safety by limiting external contact, we monitor for suspicious or scripted behavior. If you encountered this, please report the profiles so we can investigate further.

3. No Video Chats:
Avoidance of video calls is a red flag. We strongly encourage verified users to connect via video and take action against those who repeatedly refuse without reason. If this happened, your reports will help us improve authenticity. However, we do not have total control of how one would prefer connecting.

We welcome further details at support@dating.com, and recommend continuing communication there for thorough assistance. Thank you for helping us improve.

Not worth your money and time everybody

Im going to be blunt straightforward and im coming at you full force I just joined this site dating.com this month, and paying for everything is a bit suspicious. Especially with high prices
with chat, gifts etc. When I first signed up ladies were coming at me just that fast, I'm like I just joined this site. I do admit I had a Russian girl that chatted with me on video chat and told me that she travels and she use to model and their were a couple of other women that went on video chat as well. A woman named Nikita who was from Nigeria and as you know Nigeria is very well known for scammers but she seemed to be sincere which still really really really does not mean shit. You have models on here sitting on their ass all day waiting to collect money from members who paid their hard earned money. Everytime you get a bad review you want to reach out and say you are sorry for what people are going through but you Ain't going to do a damn thing about it all, that is nothing but a front. I know for a fact all the models you have on this sorry site Don't pay not one dime, am I correct? It makes no since when you pay your money for. Chat or gifts then suddenly your money is comprised so fast, you ought to be ashamed of yourself. I'm coming at you straight rather you like it or not.

Paid Communication: Yes, Dating.com uses a credit-based system. Members pay for premium services like chat, video, and virtual gifts — this is clearly stated in our terms. Our moderation team uses a blend of automated tools and human review to flag suspicious behavior, including possible scams. You’re encouraged to report any profile you feel is not acting in good faith.

On May 14, I started receiving messages that Dating.com couldn’t withdraw the next payment for my subscription. Over the course of three days, I tried to delete my profile at least five times. Each time, I received the same automatic reply: “Your profile deletion request is being processed.”

Despite using a virtual card with no funds, they kept trying to charge me. My profile was finally deleted only after I sent a firm email mentioning a GDPR complaint and Trustpilot review.

Also, be aware that Dating.com charges for every message, email, or video chat, so your credits can disappear extremely fast. In my experience, the people I chatted with seemed to deliberately prolong the conversations and repeated the same questions several times. I strongly suspect some of them are fake or incentivized profiles designed to keep users spending more.

I'm sharing this to warn others. If this happens to you – don’t give up. Stay clear and firm about your rights.

Dear Izabell,

Thank you for your detailed feedback. After a thorough review of your account, we confirm that only one purchase was made — a membership subscription which you authorized and fully used. Your account is currently suspended per your request, and your profile has already been deleted, so no further action is required on that front.

We understand the frustration caused by the automated replies during your deletion attempts, and we apologize for any inconvenience.

Regarding our credit system, Dating.com charges for every message, email, or video chat, as clearly stated in our terms. This can result in credits being used quickly, especially in extended conversations. We actively monitor profiles and strictly prohibit fraudulent or incentivized behavior. Please continue to report any suspicious activity to us immediately.

Thank you for encouraging users to stay informed and assertive about their rights. For any further questions or support, feel free to reach out to support@dating.com.
