Delta NEVER again. Extremely Poor Service. Refund Never Processed
I had a very frustrating experience with Delta Air Lines. I purchased two tickets in November 2025 for a flight from Buenos Aires to Dublin. Due to my daughter lacking a transit visa, we had to cancel the trip.
A Delta representative told me that paying an additional USD 450 upgrade would make our tickets refundable. I followed all instructions, paid the upgrade, and was later assured that the refund was initiated. However, I have never received the refund, nor has Delta responded for over 30 days, despite repeatedly contacting them.
At one point, Delta tried to replace the refund with an eCredit, which I rejected because I paid extra specifically to get my money back in my account. Additionally, the agent instructed me to send false medical documentation after my case was misclassified as a medical cancellation, something I refused to do.
Throughout this process, Delta’s communication has been confusing, inconsistent, and unprofessional. I do not recommend relying on Delta for refunds, and I would caution other travelers about their customer service.
Delta was amazing
Delta was amazing. Virgin canceled us on three flights and Delta was able to save the day, work around Virgin’s incompetence, and get us to our destination.

Really good WiFi and snacks (free) but we are having to wait like 2 hours before we can leave the plane

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with a recent travel experience with Delta Airlines that resulted in significant delays, missed connections, and over 10 hours of lost travel time across a round-trip itinerary involving four flights.
From the start, our initial departure was delayed, causing us to miss our connecting flight. The only communication we received was a generic text message saying “we’re sorry”, and we were simply rebooked on another flight three hours later with no meaningful assistance or explanation.
Unfortunately, the return trip was even more frustrating. We boarded the aircraft and began pushing back from the gate. After moving only a few yards in reverse, we were informed of a 10-minute delay. That delay turned into an hour and a half sitting on the plane, which caused us to miss our connecting flight once again.
After arriving in Atlanta, the situation continued to deteriorate. We were left waiting in the airport from 4:50 PM until 12:35 AM, repeatedly receiving delay notices and apologies, only to eventually be told that there was not even an aircraft ready for the flight.
For an airline of Delta’s size and reputation, this level of operational breakdown and lack of proactive customer support is extremely disappointing. Travelers depend on airlines not only for transportation, but also for professionalism and respect for their time.
As a result of these repeated delays and missed connections, I lost more than 10 hours of travel time and missed important meetings. Despite this, there has been no consideration of compensation, reimbursement, or even a meaningful customer service resolution.
I would appreciate Delta reviewing this situation and providing a response regarding appropriate compensation for the significant inconvenience and disruption caused by these delays.
I hope Delta will take this matter seriously and demonstrate the level of customer care the airline claims to value.
Avoid flying delta to Hawaii
I’m at Maui airport right now and my flight from delta got canceled last minute, last night “due to weather” but many airlines still departing. I tried to find a delta employee or customer service in the airport and for my surprise no one could be found.
I called delta customer service and the only option was to flight 3 days later, no help finding us a hotel, no vouchers for food or transportation, nothing!!!!
I purchased last minute Southwest and leaving here today. When I called customer service and asked details about getting refunded their reply was very vague and they were not sure of anything!!! I only flight delta and sky miles member for years!!!! Terrible customer service! Don’t ever flight to Hawaii with delta! I’m done being delta loyal member.
I need to confirm a flight after Delta…
I need to confirm a flight after Delta canceled it and then activate it again, I called customer service and wait more 1 hour!!!! We are in 2026 you are Delta airlines how come I need to spend so much time?????
Terrible experience
Delta Ripping Customers Off
This is the 3rd trip I've taken with Delta where at the time of booking (wealways book early), I will pay more money and select a more convenient flight. Then, before travel begins, Delta changes my flight to the less convenient flight anyway, keeping the money I originally paid for the higher fare. If I knew at the time I'd get moved to these flights anyway, I'd have originally booked the cheaper flight. Ive contacted their customer service each of the 3 times and they tell me they cant comp me anything, but of course they have no problem keeping the higher amount's fare. Not to mention the inconvenience in changing our plans. I truly am beginning to think Delta does this purposely to rip their customers off. Make them think the higher flight will really take place so they pay and then cancel and put them on the cheaper flight and keep the money.

I am writing to express my frustration with the ongoing delays and lack of reliability with Delta flights. At the price point your company charges—often $1,500 to $1,600 for a ticket—customers should reasonably expect efficiency, professionalism, and dependability that reflects that cost.
Unfortunately, situations like this seem to be happening far too often. Tonight is a perfect example: a flight scheduled to arrive at 10:10 PM did not even depart until around 10:30 PM. This creates unnecessary stress and inconvenience for people who are waiting for passengers or depending on timely travel for important commitments.
What makes this even more frustrating is that this is not the first time I have experienced this issue. Earlier this year in January, I experienced similar delays and last-minute disruptions that created unnecessary urgency and inconvenience. After dealing with that experience, it is extremely disappointing to see the same type of situation happening again.
When customers are paying premium prices for flights, there should be systems in place to minimize these delays and better manage operational issues. Reliability and accountability should match the cost of the service being provided.
I sincerely hope Delta takes this feedback seriously and prioritizes improving operational reliability and the overall customer experience. If these issues continue, it becomes very difficult for travelers to justify choosing Delta in the future or recommending the airline to others.
TERRIBLE SERVICE
TERRIBLE SERVICE. No luggage arriving 1h30 before and they are saying the flight is closed !!! They are even canceling the return flight and asking for three times the price to rebook !!! WORST POSSIBLE AIRLINE!!! Avoid it at any cost
Delta: your least reliable airline
The least reliable airline. This time 1.5 hr delay for a 1 hr flight from Seattle to Vancouver. The entire 1.5 hr sitting on airplane waiting for permission to take off! March 12, 2026.
Garbage service. No one takes responsibility and you cannot complain.
Delta sold my seat on a $900 ticket
Delta sold my seat on a $900 ticket. They then put me in the last seat on the plane with no window. I asked for a refund and they basically offered me $30 in miles which doesn’t even cover a bag. I have been a loyal customer for over20 years.
Delta - They don’t care about you
I again am experiencing Delta’s lack of customer service. They canceled my flight for “weather “ but no other flights going to NYC from my airport have been canceled. I called to get help but was told they could not get me on another flight. I saw two United flights that took off at similar times but they said they could not book me so I had to pay over $700 with baggage fees to get me where I needed to go. I am Platinum and a million miler but they don’t care at all about loyalty or helping. This happens way too much for me. I liked my status and try to keep it but they will not give me credit for the flights that they cancel and will make no accommodations to try to relieve me of my stress trying to get to a pre wedding dinner. I would avoid this airline at all cost. They don’t care about the customer.
I paid $7000 round trip
I paid $7000 round trip, international trip. Don’t use Delta. I fly business class. Don’t waste your money on delta. They hire cranky flight attendants. Of course they are not cranky to be aggressive but when you pay such money you expect top notch treatment. You will find this in Qatar airlines, France airlines, Korean airlines… something inherently and big wrong with the American industry when it comes to HR. They hire wrong people. Think about casinos, if you gamble in the high limit u see different people than penny slot machines.
I told the lady, I don’t want to eat my dinner now, can I eat it after 2 hours, she was unhappy and abrupt. I want to go to the restroom, she said she is cleaning the restroom and asked me if “ I can carry my tray to the other station” I guess this will decrease her workload. Of course I ignored her. When she ask about changing the chair for landing, she asks like she is elementary school. I will fly other airlines. I’ll keep delta for small local flights.
Good flight
I flew out of DAY the pre-boarding offered many goodies like snacks coffee and hot chocolate and also offered delta themed rubber ducks. When I got on the plane first impression it's a Boeing 717 of course its small but we got to board in group 3 because of Comfort plus benefits. The only problem of the aircraft 1. No IFE 2. The comfort seats I feel like have no difference to ecomeny in my opinion. it toke literally 30 minutes to get to the runway. There was not much turbulence but we got to ATL on time and we got snacks 30 mins into the flight wish there was more options then just biscoff and sun chips
Terrible customer service
My flight was delayed, which caused me to miss my connecting flight. I contacted customer service and was told that there was a later flight with the same first class seats available and asked if I wanted to rebook the connecting flight. I said yes. They then told me that they were unable to rebook that later flight and that my only option was to be on standby which is not a guarantee that I’m going to get home. They don’t care about the constant inconveniences they cause their customers and don’t provide any viable options when things go wrong. What has happened to Delta? It’s gone so down hill in every way.
Delta has horrible customer service! They play God and government
Unbelievable, disrespectful people on the phone! If you could even get to the hole still cold of the AI!
They denied me to enter the plane in America to go to Egypt. Said I had to have a visa on paper prior. That’s right on the Egyptian website. You can get it in the country. I’ve been there a few times I’m six years old. I’ve never had anything happen to me like this ever!
Fly anybody else!!
Delta airlines is the absolute worst
Delta airlines is the absolute worst! They are very disorganized and their employees are very rude! They take no responsibility for their actions. There customer service is very very poor!!
DO NOT USE DELTA AIRLINES
Jesus Christ--even trying to get a COMPLAINT to you all is impossibly difficult. When did Delta turn into such an incredibly SHITTY airline? Tonight was one of the worst travel experiences I've had in YEARS. Every single Delta worker with whom I spoke today was completely and utterly unhelpful. My flight was delayed by an HOUR--which set back my getting to the hotel--and caused a chain of events including being late to pick up baggage, not being able to find help to direct me to the right baggage claim, not having enough signage to direct me to rideshare (this is on the airport in Atlanta), and then getting me stuck outside the wrong entrance of the hotel. All because I was late starting with your flight. And what explanation is there for wasting hours of my time with this bull? Nothing. And let's talk about why your seats are *so* uncomfortable and why people can recline *so much*. Why is your "complimentary" food cart so unimpressively cheap? Why the hell do you never have enough room for every carry-on bag such that I have to check my luggage when i don't want to and risk you losing it or not letting it arrive with me--which you have done before.
Broken baggage, no way to start claim
Took a flight with a checked bag. Bag was literally brand new. First time using it. Delta employees must have thrown it so hard the broke the zipper that acted as a lock. When I landed at almost 11pm there was no one to start a claim. Called next morning and was told since I left the airport I could no longer file a claim. Customer service told me same thing. They suck, avoid at all costs.
Cancelled flight
Cancelled flight. Left high and dry. We had a connecting flight home that was cancelled. Was on chat with an agent for 1.5 hours of uselessness. No help offered and extremely unresponsive when timing was critical. Way too long for responses and not helpful when they did. I felt like I was talking to a bot the whole time even though they said they were not.
