Desert Design Carpet One Floor & Home Reviews 

Terrible experience in Carson City. Started a kitchen/bath remodel in Oct, didn't finish until Apr. They would start work, then send the guy to another job for several weeks before coming back to continue work. Initial oversights/measuring mistakes from the get-go but Desert Design never took responsibility, always pointing the finger to others. Example, we paid the plumber a lot of money to move the toilet 3 inches, but DD measurements were off and the 3 inches were unnecessary. The kitchen remodel was the worst. The cabinet install wasn't level, so the granite guys couldn't install granite. When they finally did, the top drawers scraped against the granite. The crown molding had to be installed 3 times - each time DD would call, excited to find out if we were happy with the results (they worked out of Lovelock and were not onsite to review the work), but there were gaps between the crown and the ceiling everywhere, weird inserts that didn't make sense, drawers and cabinet doors were uneven. Other contractors we had working for us, not affiliated with DD, were in disbelief and would privately point out things that concerned them. We asked for the owner to get involved many times. At one point she agreed to drive out to Carson from Lovelock but then had to cancel because her kid was sick. She agreed to send her assistant and facetime, however the Facetime never happened. We finally had to get the contractors board involved because the owner thought we were being too picky and was annoyed that she had to drive out from Lovelock to deal with it. I don't think that not wanting gaps in the crown molding, scraping drawers, and uneven/un-level cabinet drawers and doors is being picky, especially when you have invested over $100k. Very expensive products and installation. Job was delayed do to short order of carpet. Installer was very good but like I said very expensive. I would have went to another place to get a more fair price but timing for install didn't suit.

This company is very professional. The quality is excellent. The prices beat any. They sales associate know there stock and can answer any of your questions.

Desert Design is awsome to work with. Pam has always been helpful picking out carpet and scheduling.

The worker that came out was wonderful and hard working. He facilitated things we asked and was fast at the job. Anyone that tells you not to get the best upgrades you can should come and walk on the product we purchased. It is an amazing difference from what we had. I will always recommend them.

Pam was very good and knew her job very well. Everyone was polite and very receptive to any questions. Pam also helped with a problem that was found by the carpet layer which proved helpful to me.

I have only done business with the Elko office, but the staff there are very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. There is a wonderful selection of products in various price ranges. I have always been pleased with the installation of the product.

I loved my experience from start to finish. I still have one more room to put carpet in and maybe a garage flooring. The only thing that upset me was it took almost a month to get my carpet put in. but stuuf happens and will definitely recommend them.

I scheduled an appointment for an estimate for a carpet repair. The appointment came and went and no one had shown up 20 minutes after the appointment time. I called and it turned out I was never put into the calendar and I was asked to reschedule. I was unable to reschedule, so the person did rush over to take a look at the repair to give me an estimate. I was told I would have the quote the following Monday (the next business day). It was two weeks before I received the quote after two follow up phone calls. I paid as soon as I received it and scheduled the repair for a week later. I was called to see if we could move the repair to sooner in the week and I agreed, but left specific instructions as to how to leave the house since I wasn't going to be home. The instructions were not followed and the carpet scraps were not cleaned up after the job was complete. The one positive was that the quality of the repair was good and it was done sooner than I had hoped (despite likely taking longer due to quote delays). The representative of the company was polite and apologetic when there were issues, but the repeated issues with everything involved in getting the quote combined with the lack of cleanup and lack of following instructions during the repair merited the lower ranking in my opinion.

outstanding service. The tech who put the laminate in took two boxes of damaged material, at the end of laying the rest of the floor, and cut the pieces to save the whole install. Cannot tell where the good pieces were and where he jury rigged the others in. Dave worked from the time he came in to our house, in the early morning, until he finished the job at dark. I would strongly recommend his service to anyone. Desert Design gave us excellent service and pricing. We are looking forward to the time we are going to replace the carpets in our home, and have the pleasure of dealing with them again.

Excellent service and very professional. Ladies in the office were very helpful. Jesse, the installer, worked quickly and the carpet looks amazing. I'm glad I chose Desert Design over Home Depot. They have a great team of people. Thanks again!

Horrible customer service. I asked for a quote and 3 weeks later I finally received an email with the info, after I'd asked twice for it. I went to Home Depot and they did a fabulous job. I sure won't recommend any of my friends or family to Desert Design.
