Do Not Book Here – Your Room Might Not Exist

A few weeks ago, we booked a hotel through Destinia for a weekend stay for four people, two rooms, but our reservation was missing when we arrived today. The hotel was fully booked and referred us to another hotel, which also had no available rooms. We spent hours making international calls and waiting, with no solution. The travel provider suggested a poorly reviewed hotel, which we declined. Then, they found reasons to cancel our booking, claiming our friends needed to show proof of living abroad, despite this not being stated on our voucher. We lost an entire day, made countless calls, and received no help. I’ve never experienced such issues with Booking or other sites. Multiple agencies were involved, making communication difficult. It's better to pay a bit more on a reputable site than to deal with this mess.

Bucht Hier Nicht – Euer Zimmer Könnte Nicht Existieren

Vor einigen Wochen haben wir über Destinia ein Hotel für ein Wochenende für vier Personen, zwei Zimmer gebucht, aber unsere Reservierung war bei unserer Ankunft heute nicht vorhanden. Das Hotel war ausgebucht und verwies uns an ein anderes Hotel, das ebenfalls keine freien Zimmer hatte. Wir verbrachten Stunden mit internationalen Anrufen und Warten, ohne Lösung. Der Reiseanbieter schlug ein schlecht bewertetes Hotel vor, das wir ablehnten. Daraufhin fanden sie Gründe, unsere Buchung zu stornieren, und behaupteten, unsere Freunde müssten einen Nachweis über ihren Auslandsaufenthalt vorlegen, obwohl dies nicht auf unserem Voucher stand. Wir haben den ganzen Tag verloren, unzählige Anrufe gemacht und keine Hilfe erhalten. Solche Probleme hatte ich noch nie bei Booking oder anderen Seiten. Mehrere Agenturen waren beteiligt, was die Kommunikation erschwerte. Es ist besser, etwas mehr auf einer seriösen Seite zu bezahlen, als sich mit diesem Chaos auseinanderzusetzen.

Il y a quelques semaines, nous avons réservé un hôtel via Destinia pour un week-end pour quatre personnes, deux chambres, mais notre réservation n'était pas présente à notre arrivée aujourd'hui. L'hôtel était complet et nous a renvoyés vers un autre hôtel, qui n'avait également aucune chambre disponible. Nous avons passé des heures à faire des appels internationaux et à attendre, sans solution. Le prestataire de voyage a suggéré un hôtel mal évalué, que nous avons refusé. Ensuite, ils ont trouvé des raisons d'annuler notre réservation, affirmant que nos amis devaient prouver qu'ils vivaient à l'étranger, bien que cela ne soit pas mentionné sur notre bon. Nous avons perdu toute une journée, fait d'innombrables appels et n'avons reçu aucune aide. Je n'ai jamais eu de tels problèmes avec Booking ou d'autres sites. Plusieurs agences étaient impliquées, ce qui rendait la communication difficile. Il vaut mieux payer un peu plus sur un site réputé que de traiter avec ce désordre.

SCAMMERS FAKE AWFULL

Fake company
Scam customer. We did a family reservation but there was no evidence of any reservations at hotel when contacted them. When tried to contact them while chatting they blocked me and did not answer any of my questions. Worst customer service.
Be aware they will get the money and don’t provide any service
My reservation reference is 7719765
I spoke to the hotel for reservation but they have no confirmation.

This company is big scammers .

This company is big scammers .
Beware! fake reviews.
They will tell you we have hotel booking voucher.
but when you contact with hotel there is no booking reference number. They will tell you different stories that we are trying to get Hotel Booking number from our supplier.
No refunds , For refund need to involve bank.
Big time Scammers !!!!!

Smooth Experience

Booked via Trivago, best price for the hotel I wanted.
Booking process was straightforward with immediate confirmation. I emailed the hotel the next day to make sure they had my booking, which they did.
On arrival all was as expected, no need to show any paperwork at check in.

LIARS !!! made out I didn't turn up at my hotel but stopped at at hotel for £260 a night at SOFITEL ,, THE TRUTH IS WE DID TURN UP AT AMADIL OCEAN PARK " BY THE WAY IS CATERED FOR ONLY FRENCH " WE GOT OUR BANDS AND SIGNED ALL THE PAPERWORK AT 10AM GOT TOLD TO USE THE FACILITIES UNTIL 2PM WHEN WE COULD COLLECT IUR KEY , WE WENT AT 2PM AND THEY HAD LOST OUR BOOKING ,, THE AMADIL OCEAN PARK ARE LIARS AND DESTINA ARE LIARS !!!! Fake reviews

Fake reviews
They used to be airfare experts, they rebranded for poor reviews and scammy practices.
Would not honor a $3000 credit from 2020. Was told I could rebook anytime due to Covid complications. Tried to rebook in 2022 but dates were conflicting. Now they’re telling me it’s only valid for one year which doesn’t make sense because I confirmed with them in 2022.

Sneaky fees and free cancellation isn't really free...

Why two stars?

1) There's a sneaky payment card fee, only disclosed right at the end of checkout! Was like 2%+ on my booking. You can only circumvent this charge by doing a bank transfer, or using a JCB card... ridiculous.

2) Even though the booking may have "free cancellation", that doesn't apply to the payment fee! So you lose that amount if you do a "free cancellation" of your hotel room.

I would have given it 1 star instead, but the booking process was quite smooth and cancellation was done easily online, without having to go through customer service or chat.

But will never book with Destinia again, for the sneaky reasons above. If they treat customers like this during booking, imagine the hassle you will get if anything goes wrong with your booking...

Amazing

Wooow, just woow, the contact center was soo helpful. I was helped by a guy called Brian , he even did more than my expectations. Later also helped by another guy called Andrew. Just amazing. Final cost of hotel is almost double what is advertised. I won't book with Destinia again

I would not book with Destinia again as they are not clear in their hotel descriptions of additional charges at the property and they are not helpful. I booked Wyndham Gardens Lake Buenavista. The description lists Parking in the amenities but it doesn't state that this is $29+tax that is payable locally, nor does it list that there is a compulsory resort fee which must be paid locally at $35+tax. On a booking costing £79 the extras payable locally have made the cost of the stay to almost double! If other websites can make this information clear then why can't Destinia. I contacted their online chat to explain that I would have preferred to know all charges and to have paid for everything in advance and asked that I swap to a different property, including offering to pay more money to do this. They were very unhelpful and quoted booking terms etc. No understanding that I didn't want the hassle of paying locally and would prefer to swap to a property where everything is prepaid, no acknowledgement that it would be helpful to customers to be clearer in their hotel description. Very slow replies to messages on their online chat. I never asked for a refund, just a different property because of their lack of information in hotel description. Take my advice and book with another company who have clearer pricing information and more helpful customer service like booking.com

2 of my bookings for work (my officemates)
were NOT RECOGNIZED BY THE HOTEL.
No surname was reserved under their name via Destinia. They did not refund anything.

PLEASE READ!! DONT TRUST OR USE DESTINIA, WHAT A JOKE!!!

So, our holiday was booked with Destinia through Booking.com. Myself and my partner booked 5 nights at the Amadil Ocean Club in Agadir Morocco. We arrived at the hotel around 10.50am and were booked in (as we thought) Had our all-inclusive bracelets on our wrists and was told we could now use all facilities in the hotel. But could we come back to reception at 2pm so we could collect the key to our room as rooms weren't available until after 2pm. Everything was ok until we went to collect the key and then our hole holiday-world just came crashing down on top of us. We was told that there was no reservation for our 5 night booking. I couldn't believe what they were saying. So I said why did you put our all-inclusive bracelets on our wrists and tell us to go and enjoy the facilities in the hotel?? If you haven't received our booking?? No explanation, only they haven't got any booking for the 2 of us from Destinia. 😲🥹 In my 40yrs of travelling all around the world I have never ever come across anything like this. So we asked the hotel to ring Destinia so we could clarify our booking, as I had all bookings and payments on my phone. We rang them and as we was speaking to Destinia by phone we got cut off 😡 So we tried to ring them back and couldn't get through??? They had blocked our number??? 😡Why?? By this time I was very upset, we was in a foreign country and no where to stay?? The Amadil Ocean Club hotel were not at all friendly or trying to help us at all. They just wanted us to pay again, they said pay for your 5 nights all-inclusive here and now and you can stay, if not you have to leave. Well there was no way i was doing that when we had already booked and payed previously through Destinia. So we phoned our driver who had dropped us off at the hotel previously. He came, picked us up, we drove round other hotels to try and get a bed for the night. After several attempts we finally got bed n breakfast at the SOFITEL HOTEL which was very expensive but we had no choice because there was no were else available. Plus by this time I just felt like driving to the airport, I wanted to go home, our holiday was ruined. We were suppose to of been celebrating our 10th year anniversary together what a shambles it had turned into 😪 This cost us £557.63 for BnB and some drinks n food that night, at the (SOFITEL HOTEL) Why we was at this hotel my partner was using a (chat bot) message to communicate with Destinia explaining everything to them what had happened to us. They said its all booked and payed for and there should be no problems with the booking at Amadil Ocean Club Hotel. They said they couldn't understand the situation either and would look further into it and we would have an answer for us the following morning. So again we put our trust in them (didn't have any options really) so we was were we was and waited for a message from them the following morning. Hopefully🤞with some good news that Amadil Ocean Club have found our booking and we can continue our holiday there (what's left of it) after nearly 2days of worrying heartbreaking, destruction and unnecessary problems. My partner got onto the (chat bot) asking for updates on our situation. He was sat all morning and into the afternoon just explaining to them again n again n again about our situation. It was 2.45pm on 30/05/24 by the time they had come up with some answers for us. Destinia then told us to leave SOFITEL HOTEL and go to The Ocean Club hotel as all of a sudden they have now found/got our reservation?? We walked with our luggage from SOFITEL HOTEL to Ocean Club hotel as the taxi from SOFITEL HOTEL were expensive and we had already spent ex amounts of money that we hadn't budgeted for because of the appalling communication between Destinia and Ocean Club hotel. They had both been moving the blame between each other for the mistake one of them had made. But never gave a thought about us and our feelings and all the upset it had caused for us. I have mental health issues and all this didnt help my condition at all. I was so stressed out and felt very anxious I just really wanted to go home 😪 When we got to the Ocean Club hotel, there was a different manager on the reception desk. We explained who we were and what had happened to us the previous day. He just said your reservation is now here on our booking system and to just try n forget about the past couple of days and start and enjoy the rest of your time you have left on holiday. He booked us back in put our wrists bands back on and gave us our room key. So please 🙏 if you have took the time to read this it is not a false statement it is completely 100 percent true please be careful if you book with DESTINIA!! I and my partner will never use this company again ITS NOT TO BE TRUSTED..... M.WARDLE
