The recruiter set up an interview with a large company to then only tell me after weeks of “they are impressed and really want you” to then drop the line “they couldn’t get sign off for the role”.
No checks and balances done by them to ensure there was ever a role to begin with. Messed me around and led me along/strung me along for over two weeks. Check out their company on Companies House. It seems to be a “family” owned business. Makes you wonder if any of the jobs they have are even real to begin with or if they are just making an industry for themselves.

Such a poor experience. The potential company I interviewed with were a complete joke. Kept you waiting and waiting between interviews and ultimately I can now see they were never going to pay what the agency said the basic bracket was. So many red flags throughout the interview process… I should have read the script! Just a lack of decency and a waste of my time. Best to go direct with an employer IMO, don’t get messed around and at the end of the day you will get a better salary without the huge chunk an agency will take.
