We had a really lovely time staying at Valley View In Swanage. It was a beautiful old villa on the outside and a really modern and stylish house on the inside. Although there was a slight issue with the heating over the weekend, Kate and Michael from Dorset Cottage Holidays sorted it quickly for us, even though it was late Saturday afternoon- thank you.

We have booked before with Dorset Cottage Holidays. Again fantastic service, and fantastic staff who dealt with our queries in a kind a professional manner.

Total lack of Confidence in the Staff repeatedly asked for the Deposit which was paid on time of booking !! Once could be a mistake, twice is incompetence in my mind, surely they should be efficient enough to tally the bookings with payments. After consideration because this was booked for a Special Family Occasion, decided to Cancel too avoid Disappointment on this Special Event, only to wait Near on 4 Weeks for Partial deposit back, and that didn't go without Hiccups!!

The best holiday cottage lettings business I have used. Clearly very well-run, chooses it's cottages carefully and really understands what its customers want. I have stayed in two of their cottages (Wareham and Swanage) and returned to the Swanage one for another two weeks stay this month.
The website is well-designed, easy to find what you are looking for. Communication is excellent and queries dealt with promptly. Such great service ensures a stress-free holiday!

Booking and all information for staying at Malvern apartment was very good.We had a lovely week in swanage and the apartment had everything we needed.

One star in my opinion is a star to many !

I booked Brontë Cottage in wareham with Dorset Cottage Holidays, this morning I checked my emails the day I’m due to travel ! To find I have an email to say that damage hade been caused to the main sewage pipe by a builder next door and it was inhabitable! Only one option as an alternative however that owner was holding out for a 7 night stay not the 3 as I requested? So my weekend ruined the day of travel! Good job I checked my emails otherwise I would have travelled without knowledge no phone call to make me aware!
I then get an email to say my refund would take 10 to 15 days,
When checking their website for a complaint procedure I noticed that the previous day they had advertised the same cottage as a last minute cancellation? But guess what the price had gone from £874 to £1193 ? Amazing more money for the privilege of a house that’s inhabitable to the smell of 💩!
I will give them due they did after having no alternative say I could stay there and put up with the smell? For the same price! I was looking forward to just having a relaxing break from life in the past year I’ve lost my husband suddenly and unexpectedly moved home twice I just needed my luck to change !
Unfortunately it’s left me feeling so empty and depressed so thanks DCH no compassion what so ever ! Will never give you time of day again.

Good website detailing all import information that makes choosing and making a booking easy, rather than dismissing accommodation due lack of information. Easy to book and prompt booking confirmation.

Clean, pretty cottage and garden in a beautiful village. Well placed for visiting many attractions, towns and other villages in the area. The cottage was as described on the website. There's a reasonably busy road outside the cottage but we were made aware of that. Would definitely visit again.

This is our 7th or 8th visit to Lizard's Rest so clearly we think the property, the location and the parking are all excellent. this year we discovered the Football Golf, only 4 minutes walk away and great fun for all of us (three generations)

Posted a review on their website with a few comments about the property that we stayed in, nothing that bad, just small things but the review was not published. Other reviews before and after my stay were published. There only seems to be good reviews published, so don't take too much notice of some of these.

The website is hard to find, when you google Dorset Cottage Holidays, its the fourth on the list.
My booking confirmation was sent to my husband, even though I've booked places in Swanage independently since 2022.
I've prevously emailed DCH asking for suggestions for places to stay with a 95 year old (my dad) but I didn't even receive a reply.
There used to be a lovely agent called Domi who was very efficient.

We enjoyed our holiday at Markham House, Weymouth and whilst we were there booked to stay again. However, 2 weeks+ later we received an email from Izzy at Dorset Holidays demanding £100 for alleged damage to a ""side table from a candle on it or something which has burnt rings into the surface". We phoned Izzy and expressed our amazement, but also that we had paid a waiver. The response from Izzy was that the waiver only covered £25. We have since checked Dorset Holidays terms and conditions and the damage waiver fee covers up to £300, so Izzy was lying. Izzy has since provided us with the housekeeping report which states **Stain on bedside cabinet in single room, won’t come out**. We have looked at the photo attached and it appears a minor wear and tear stain from a glass . Unfortunately I cant attach the photo here. The demand from Dorset Holidays was for £100. However, the waiver offered cover up to £300 and we have found exactly the same side table on sale for £10. So yes, we have zero confidence in staying again at Markham House Weymouth and certainly will never book again through Dorset Holidays, whom I am of the cusp of reporting to Trading Standards. Obviously we have cancelled our next holiday at Markham House and awaiting a full refund.

We have just returned from a fabulous week at Elizabeth Cottage, what a fabulous cosy cottage full of character, lovely well looked after garden perfect and safe for our dog.
first impressions of the cottage was the cleanliness, it had been cleaned to a high standard, which made the perfect start to our holiday.
Communication from the company was good and from Kate the Housekeeper was excellent. It all made a perfect week. Thank you we hope to return again soon.

An easy search facility. The map view is very helpful, as you can locate where the accommodation is to within a street or 2. This aids choosing a property, as location is extremely important to me. Property descriptions
were very thorough. Booking was straightforward.
The one thing that could be improved, are better & more comprehensive photos, with at least one showing where the car parking is situated at each property.

Lovely place within minutes of town and beach. I highly recommend Dorset Cottage Holidays and they don't come with the Airbnb mark up. Even when I lost the key to the cottage, they had come out and replaced within the hour. Exceptional service.

Lovely Modern property very comfortable home from home and Dog friendly which is just what we needed while escaping home renovations.
