The courier was supposed to deliver my package today. I saw that he was near my location, he had one more package to deliver, and then he was supposed to come to me. At that moment I had just woken up. I quickly got up, got ready, got dressed so the courier wouldn’t have to wait for me. But when I finished and checked the status, I saw that the courier had taken my package to the Packstation, saying that he couldn’t deliver it. But I didn’t receive any call, nothing — not to my phone, not to my door, nothing at all. He didn’t even try to come to me.
Missed Packages
I recieved an email saying my Paket is on the way you will get a call when it gets there, Whoever had it never calls or informs or even ring the doorbell everytime i have to follow my Packets up to the Filliale, it is really bad. trying to call to tell them to come back is a whole other long process, i am not pleased by the whole waiting for 3 seconds downstairs and then driving of, its disappointingto see your Paket drive off on your way downstairs .

Abominable customer communications
In September I ordered an item from a Belgian company, the price for which explicitly included customs duty. DHL were the delivery company and alerted me more than once about the incoming parcel. They gave me the opportunity to avoid the need for a signature on receipt, but I ignored this offer. However on delivery no signature was requested and the parcel was simply handed over. A week later DHL invoiced me for unpaid customs duty and despite seeing evidence that my order included customs duty they have pursued me for payment. At no time prior to or at the point of delivery did they alert me that any kind of payment was required. Later contact with them was utterly farcical when they left a voicemail asking me to call them. They left the wrong number; then I was given a second incorrect number; followed by a third call which DHL inadvertently cut off and finally I got through to the correct team, only to learn that they had called me in error, believing I was the Belgian seller. They continue to pursue me for payment. This is a company to avoid if you possibly can.

If I had the option of zero star
If I had the option of zero star, I would give that. The company sucks from start to finish. Of all the delivery services in Germany, they seem unable to ring the doorbell (can be heard in the entire home) or leave the package per the instructions. They are capable, however, to drop the notification through the letterbox, which is right next to the doorbell, to let me know that I now have the pleasure to pick up the package after 6 PM at some gas station.
I am pissed enough to stop buying anything that gets delivery through DHL. Sadly, that also applies to their AI and their customer service; it's abominable.

Worst delivery experience I’ve ever had. 3 of 5 delivery’s in a week had issues. All used same delivery address. One it didn’t allow me to enter my post code to allow delivery to the door or to charcoal what oackstation it is on. THE WORST COMPANY I'VE EVER SEEN. I HOPE YOU GO OUT OF BUSINESS. I spent hours trying to send a package, and then you returned it saying the name wasn't written on the doorbell at the address. Even though I wrote the company name, you said it wasn't there. I hope your company goes out of business.

Meine jüngste Erfahrung mit DHL war äußerst enttäuschend. Ich habe alle Anweisungen für eine Rücksendung mit Sendungsverfolgung befolgt, doch der Kurier hat das Paket ohne jegliche Benachrichtigung an einen Abholpunkt gebracht – wodurch es schließlich wieder an mich zurückgesendet wurde, anstatt sein Ziel zu erreichen.
Eine Lösung zu finden, ist praktisch unmöglich. Der Kundenservice ist kaum erreichbar und als ich schließlich jemanden ans Telefon bekam, war der Mitarbeiter extrem unhilfsbereit. Er weigerte sich, Englisch zu sprechen, und sagte zu mir: „Wir sind in Deutschland, wir sprechen hier nur Deutsch.“ Diese Reaktion ist nicht nur unprofessionell, sondern auch sehr intolerant – insbesondere wenn man bedenkt, welche internationale Rolle Deutschland einnimmt und dass DHL ein globales Unternehmen ist.
Insgesamt zeigt DHL keinerlei Kommunikation, Verantwortungsbewusstsein oder Kundenorientierung. Ich stehe nun mit einem zurückgesandten Paket, verlorener Zeit und absolut keiner Unterstützung da. Sehr enttäuschend.
Review: Completely Unacceptable Service
My recent experience with DHL has been nothing short of terrible. I followed all instructions for a tracked return shipment, yet the courier decided to drop the package at a pickup point without informing anyone — which caused the parcel to be returned to me instead of reaching its destination.
Trying to resolve this has been impossible. Customer service is practically unreachable, and when I finally managed to speak with someone on the service line, the man was extremely unhelpful. He refused to speak English and told me, “We are in Germany, we speak only German here.” I found this response not only unprofessional, but also very intolerant — especially considering the international position Germany holds and the fact that DHL is a global company.
Overall, DHL has shown a complete lack of communication, accountability, and customer support. I’m left with a returned package, wasted time, and absolutely no help from their side. Very disappointing.
Bad delivery service - just delivered somewhere else
I bought something in name and for my girlfriend living in Aachen. The webshop delivered using DHL. While she was at home, the delivery guy has delivered to some other guy.
The mail that I received stated the package was delivered at her address, and a person with a name we don’t know had accepted it. While nobody at all rang the doorbell. This is something that I have never experienced with DHL in the Netherlands. Really bad. She has no note on what address it really was delivered.
And this morning we learned her son had also 2 deliveries for this week, also delivered there, while he got the mail that the package was delivered home.
I will complain to the webshop. I don’t understand why webshops would even select DHL seeing the bad rating here on Trustpilot.

Absolutely horrible experience. No one called, no one even attempted to deliver anything. I only found out through an email that delivery was “not possible.” What does that even mean? It’s not like I live at the North Pole. Nobody called or tried to deliver, just a lazy excuse. Completely trash service from DHL.

Worst service ever. Delivery was planned on this day from 13 to 15. They emailed me saying they try to deliver at 16.21 and I was u avaible so they sent the package to the postal office. Dump ppl.

Someone was in all day and they missed us apparently. Schedule rexlivery and now they have no track of my package anymore and it’s gone. £50 down the drain thanks for nothing useless courier. If you want your packages disappeared like it’s Latin and dhl is ICE go ahead and use DHL!

Fraudulent delivery times
I Paid extra to have a package containing my passport, to be delivered by 9am so I can make my flight in time. 8:52 I get the delivery confirmation mail, even signed by myself. You can imagine my surprise. 2 hours later I see the driver throw it in my mail box. How low will DHL go to 'meet on-time targets'. I will never use them again, not even for the VIP express service needing a signature, why bother if the driver can sign for your packages.

The package I sent was stuck in the sam status for over a week, I tried to speak to customer service but their awful chat bot kept hanging up just repeating the same old stuff, the thing is the post code for the reciever was not being recognized when I finally spoke to a human he did not help he just said the package did not have a sender or recipient address on it , which is completely not true, anyway he told me I needed to fill out a form online but I could not fill out the form with out the right postcode, so I had to send an email instaed, I got a genereic reply which did not read my email properly as they were talking to me as if I were the recipient, and they told me to fill out the form online, I had already expalined I can not do that, I could not reply to the email because it was a do not reply address, anyway I had to send another one, it is now over 2 weeks since i sent this, I have tried over 7 times to speak to someone who actually understands what is going on.
